Book Synopsis Interacting Code Motion Transformations: Their Impact and Their Complexity by : Oliver Rüthing
Download or read book Interacting Code Motion Transformations: Their Impact and Their Complexity written by Oliver Rüthing and published by Springer. This book was released on 2007-12-03 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Code motion techniques are integrated in many optimizing production and research compilers. They are still a major topic of ongoing research in program optimization, but traditional methods are restricted by a narrow focus on their immediate effects. A more ambitious approach is to investigate the interdependencies between distinct component transformations. This monograph provides a comprehensive account of the methods most accepted in practice for program analysis and program transformation for imperative languages. It also develops a scenario, systematically and step by step, which overcomes the structural restrictions that had previously long resisted attack. The author presents formal proofs for all the steps leading to this breakthrough, though the reader may skip the proofs and consult the technical details as needed yet still enjoy a smooth introduction to the central principles of code motion.

Book Synopsis Algorithms - ESA '94 by : Jan van Leeuwen
Download or read book Algorithms - ESA '94 written by Jan van Leeuwen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1994-09-14 with total page 536 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book brings together recent developments in Alzheimer's disease research with related discoveries in the field of cell biology. The book moves between basic cell biological concepts that form the underpinnings of modern Alzheimer's disease research, and current findings about proteins and cellular processes affected by the disease. Divided into three topics, the book addresses (1) protein trafficking, a problem that has become germane to the study of the amyloid precursor protein; (2) phosphorylation, a problem that underlies studies of the pathological transformation of tau to paired helical filaments; and (3) cell death, a pervasive problem in neurodegeneration.
Book Synopsis Weak Multiplex Percolation by : Gareth J. Baxter
Download or read book Weak Multiplex Percolation written by Gareth J. Baxter and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2022-01-27 with total page 50 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In many systems consisting of interacting subsystems, the complex interactions between elements can be represented using multilayer networks. However percolation, key to understanding connectivity and robustness, is not trivially generalised to multiple layers. This Element describes a generalisation of percolation to multilayer networks: weak multiplex percolation. A node belongs to a connected component if at least one of its neighbours in each layer is in this component. The authors fully describe the critical phenomena of this process. In two layers with finite second moments of the degree distributions the authors observe an unusual continuous transition with quadratic growth above the threshold. When the second moments diverge, the singularity is determined by the asymptotics of the degree distributions, creating a rich set of critical behaviours. In three or more layers the authors find a discontinuous hybrid transition which persists even in highly heterogeneous degree distributions, becoming continuous only when the powerlaw exponent reaches $1+1/(M-1)$ for $M$ layers.
Book Synopsis Data Flow Analysis by : Uday Khedker
Download or read book Data Flow Analysis written by Uday Khedker and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-12-19 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Data flow analysis is used to discover information for a wide variety of useful applications, ranging from compiler optimizations to software engineering and verification. Modern compilers apply it to produce performance-maximizing code, and software engineers use it to re-engineer or reverse engineer programs and verify the integrity of their programs. Supplementary Online Materials to Strengthen Understanding Unlike most comparable books, many of which are limited to bit vector frameworks and classical constant propagation, Data Flow Analysis: Theory and Practice offers comprehensive coverage of both classical and contemporary data flow analysis. It prepares foundations useful for both researchers and students in the field by standardizing and unifying various existing research, concepts, and notations. It also presents mathematical foundations of data flow analysis and includes study of data flow analysis implantation through use of the GNU Compiler Collection (GCC). Divided into three parts, this unique text combines discussions of inter- and intraprocedural analysis and then describes implementation of a generic data flow analyzer (gdfa) for bit vector frameworks in GCC. Through the inclusion of case studies and examples to reinforce material, this text equips readers with a combination of mutually supportive theory and practice, and they will be able to access the author’s accompanying Web page. Here they can experiment with the analyses described in the book, and can make use of updated features, including: Slides used in the authors’ courses The source of the generic data flow analyzer (gdfa) An errata that features errors as they are discovered Additional updated relevant material discovered in the course of research
