Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We must be reminded that one of the most wicked, evil religions on the face of God's green earth is Islam. There is no such thing (as some believe) as a peaceful Muslim. There is simply the warring state of Islam, and the quiet state. The quiet state exists only until there is perceived strength to overcome the enemy. The enemy according to the Islamic Koran is all of the 'infidels.' This includes everyone that is non-Muslim. These Islamic attacks will not take God by surprise. Ezekiel 38 and 39 follow what? Ezekiel 37, where God said that the nation of Israel would be restored as a nation, which took place May 15, 1948. It is the only time in the history of the world that a nation which had been dispersed for over 2,500 years was re-acclimated and brought back together as a sovereign nation. This is no surprise because Israel, (the Jewish people) is referred to in the Scriptures as the apple of God's eye. In Matthew 24, the Scripture tells us there will be "wars and rumors of wars." The invasion of Ezekiel 38-39 is part of the major rumblings on the horizon which will escalate into a major battle. Russia, with five Islamic nations, will gather together against the nation of Israel beginning a global invasion, ending in the Battle of Armageddon, which will be the great cataclysmic event, foretold of in Revelation 16:12-16, and 19:17-21. This book examines Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39 with the searchlight of truth that exposes the evil plan of Islam. God's Word warns us to be watchful, alert and witnessing until Jesus returns.

The third book in Mark Hitchcock's fascinating prophecy series explains the relevance of this prediction to today's world. First, he establishes how the current global scene sets the stage for this event and focuses on the identity of the invading nations (those mentioned in Ezekiel are like a Who's Who of Israel's current enemies). Hitchcock then considers the time and motives for their attack. Finally, he discusses God's dramatic intervention that will pave the way for the Antichrist's worldwide empire.

Book excerpt: An epic historical consideration of the Mongol conquest of Western Asia and the spread of Islam during the years of non-Muslim rule The Mongol conquest of the Islamic world began in the early thirteenth century when Genghis Khan and his warriors overran Central Asia and devastated much of Iran. Distinguished historian Peter Jackson offers a fresh and fascinating consideration of the years of infidel Mongol rule in Western Asia, drawing from an impressive array of primary sources as well as modern studies to demonstrate how Islam not only survived the savagery of the conquest, but spread throughout the empire. This unmatched study goes beyond the well-documented Mongol campaigns of massacre and devastation to explore different aspects of an immense imperial event that encompassed what is now Iran, Iraq, Turkey, and Afghanistan, as well as Central Asia and parts of eastern Europe. It examines in depth the cultural consequences for the incorporated Islamic lands, the Muslim experience of Mongol sovereignty, and the conquerors’ eventual conversion to Islam.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Today's Arab world was created at breathtaking speed. In just over one hundred years following the death of Mohammed in 632, Arabs had subjugated a territory with an east-west expanse greater than the Roman Empire, and they did it in about one-half the time. By the mid-eighth century, Arab armies had conquered the thousand-year-old Persian Empire, reduced the Byzantine Empire to little more than a city-state based around Constantinople, and destroyed the Visigoth kingdom of Spain. The cultural and linguistic effects of this early Islamic expansion reverberate today. This is the first popular English-language account in many years of this astonishing remaking of the political and religious map of the world. Hugh Kennedy's sweeping narrative reveals how the Arab armies conquered almost everything in their path, and brings to light the unique characteristics of Islamic rule. One of the few academic historians with a genuine talent for story telling, Kennedy offers a compelling mix of larger-than-life characters, fierce battles, and the great clash of civilizations and religions.

In Russia and Its Islamic World, Robert Service examines Russia's interactions with Islam at home and around the globe and pinpoints the tsarist and Soviet legacy, current complications, and future possibilities. The author details how the Russian encounter with Islam was close and problematic long before the twenty-first century and how Russia has recently chosen to interfere in Muslim states of the Middle East, building alliances and making enemies. Service reveals how some features of the present-day relationship continue past policies; others are starkly and perilously different, making the current moment in global affairs dangerous for both Russians and the rest of us. He describes how the Kremlin dominates Muslims in the Russian Federation, exerts a deep influence on the Muslim-inhabited states on Russia's southern frontiers, and has lunged militarily and politically into the Middle East. Foreign Muslims, he shows, do not value the leadership in Moscow except as a means to an end; Putin's pose as a friend of the Islamic world is no more than a pose—and a hypocritical one at that.

Book excerpt: From the dawn of writing in Sumer to the sunset of the Islamic empire, Founding Gods, Inventing Nations traces four thousand years of speculation on the origins of civilization. Investigating a vast range of primary sources, some of which are translated here for the first time, and focusing on the dynamic influence of the Greek, Roman, and Arab conquests of the Near East, William McCants looks at the ways the conquerors and those they conquered reshaped their myths of civilization's origins in response to the social and political consequences of empire. The Greek and Roman conquests brought with them a learned culture that competed with that of native elites. The conquering Arabs, in contrast, had no learned culture, which led to three hundred years of Muslim competition over the cultural orientation of Islam, a contest reflected in the culture myths of that time. What we know today as Islamic culture is the product of this contest, whose protagonists drew heavily on the lore of non-Arab and pagan antiquity. McCants argues that authors in all three periods did not write about civilization's origins solely out of pure antiquarian interest--they also sought to address the social and political tensions of the day. The strategies they employed and the postcolonial dilemmas they confronted provide invaluable context for understanding how authors today use myth and history to locate themselves in the confusing aftermath of empire.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In just over a hundred years--from the death of Muhammad in 632 to the beginning of the Abbasid Caliphate in 750--the followers of the Prophet swept across the whole of the Middle East, North Africa, and Spain. Their armies threatened states as far afield as the Franks in Western Europe and the Tang Empire in China. The conquered territory was larger than the Roman Empire at its greatest expansion, and it was claimed for the Arabs in roughly half the time. How this collection of Arabian tribes was able to engulf so many empires, states, and armies in such a short period of time is a question that has perplexed historians for centuries. Most recent popular accounts have been based almost solely on the early Muslim sources, which were composed centuries later for the purpose of demonstrating that God had chosen the Arabs as his vehicle for spreading Islam throughout the world. In this ground-breaking new history, distinguished Middle East expert Robert G. Hoyland assimilates not only the rich biographical and geographical information of the early Muslim sources but also the many non-Arabic sources, contemporaneous or near-contemporaneous with the conquests. The story of the conquests traditionally begins with the revelation of Islam to Muhammad. In God's Path, however, begins with a broad picture of the Late Antique world prior to the Prophet's arrival, a world dominated by the two superpowers of Byzantium and Sasanian Persia, "the two eyes of the world." In between these empires, in western (Saudi) Arabia, emerged a distinct Arab identity, which helped weld its members into a formidable fighting force. The Arabs are the principal actors in this drama yet, as Hoyland shows, the peoples along the edges of Byzantium and Persia--the Khazars, Bulgars, Avars, and Turks--also played important roles in the remaking of the old world order. The new faith propagated by Muhammad and his successors made it possible for many of the conquered peoples to join the Arabs in creating the first Islamic Empire. Well-paced and accessible, In God's Path presents a pioneering new narrative of one the great transformational periods in all of history.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “A tour de force on the evolution of jihadism. . . . essential reading.” ―Mehran Kamrava, author of Inside the Arab State Most violent jihadi movements in the twentieth century focused on removing corrupt, repressive secular regimes throughout the Muslim world. But following the 1979 Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, a new form of jihadism emerged—global jihad—turning to the international arena as the primary locus of ideology and action. With this book, Glenn E. Robinson develops a compelling and provocative argument about this violent political movement's evolution. Global Jihad tells the story of four distinct jihadi waves, each with its own program for achieving a global end: whether a Jihadi International to liberate Muslim lands from foreign occupation; al-Qa’ida’s call to drive the United States out of the Muslim world; ISIS using “jihadi cool” to recruit followers; or leaderless efforts of stochastic terror to “keep the dream alive.” Robinson connects the rise of global jihad to other “movements of rage” such as the Nazi Brownshirts, White supremacists, Khmer Rouge, and Boko Haram. Ultimately, he shows that while global jihad has posed a low strategic threat, it has instigated an outsized reaction from the United States and other Western nations. “[A] remarkably comprehensive account.” —Foreign Affairs

Book excerpt: With the end of the cold war, it seemed that there would finally be an everlasting peace. President George Bush Sr. in his famous speech after the fall of communist Russia, spoke of a new world order. In the President's speech, he spoke of a world that was united under the rule of law, under a new system, guided by the principles of the United Nations. No longer would there be a divide between nations of North or South, East or West; humanism would be the creed of the new age. Democracy and Capitalism would be the guide to a globalized, secular, westernized system envisioned for this new world. A new civil religion in which all humanity will prostrate in atonement for past economic sin. This utopic vision of harmony between the sons of Adam did not last long, the never ending peace was soon tested by an old foe of Christendom, a foe with origins from Arabia, with a new tactical weapon, the weapon of terrorism. Christendom had much experience with this long forgotten foe, after all, it had been at war with Islam since the Islamic conquest of Byzantium territory in the late 7th century AD. Forgotten perhaps because the evolution of politics caused historical amnesia. Christendom finally defeated the Islamic enemy, when the Turks, a last futile attempt to save their ever so weakening empire, decided to side with Germany during WWI. With the defeat of Germany and Turkey, the Caliphate was no more; the last Islamic empire had fallen, the Ottoman Empire was finished. Yet some how Islam is back, literally invading Western Civilization all over again, only this time they are doing so without waging war, they are doing so at the invitation of Western governments. Why are Western governments literally creating their own demise? Perhaps it is because they belong to a philosophy we all thought had died with the fall of Soviet Russia; perhaps Communism & Islamism have unknowingly united, an alliance that seeks to destroy the Christian West and bring about a New World Order.
