Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the essential topic of our Lord's Last Supper and His crucifixion. It shows that Jesus Christ is the true Passover Lamb who fulfilled the Old Testament "type" and that His Last Supper with His disciples was a pinnacle teaching moment that each believer needs to know, understand, and practice. Take this journey into the Scriptures and discover the doctrinal statements that are symbolized in the Biblical observance of the ordinance of communion. While examining the subject of ordinances you will also discover the doctrinal statement that is symbolized in baptism. The author closes with an explanation on how you can be assured that God will pass over you when it is time to face His justice.

The Passover is the Old Testament feast that celebrates and remembers God’s liberation of Israel from Egypt. It also foreshadows Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Christ in the Passover also includes a Christian Passover Seder script that can be used by Christians year-round. This pamphlet: Shows the parallels between the Passover in the Old Testament and the work of Jesus Christ as the perfect Passover lamb in the New Testament. This is a good way of explaining the Jewish roots of Christianity. Includes a Christian Passover Seder script, with everything you will need, including the recipes. Our staff held a seder and it was very meaningful. It takes only 30 minutes and is good for all ages. Children have fun participating finding the hidden matzah bread that symbolizes Jesus. Each year, from generation to generation, you must celebrate it as a special festival to the LORD. This is a law for all time. —Exodus 12:14, The Holy Bible This Christ in the Passover Pamphlet is Packed with Fascinating Facts Christians celebrate the Passover as a holiday that commemorates God’s miraculous rescue of Israel from Egyptian captivity. The Lord instituted the Passover feast nearly 3,500 years ago to remind his people of how much he loved them. The Passover is meaningful to Christians today because it is packed with symbolism that points to Jesus Christ. The messianic symbolism in the Passover is a powerful message of salvation in Christ. Christ in the Passover gives hundreds of facts at a glance, including: The Passover story from the Bible—celebrating the Exodus from Egypt The parallels between the Passover in the Old Testament and the work of Jesus Christ as the perfect Passover lamb in the New Testament. Christ in the Passover shows six ways that the Passover in the Old Testament points to Jesus, who was called the “Lamb of God.” Why is the Passover story important for Christians today? At some point, you will face hard times, tough problems, and unfair circumstances. It’s good to know that when times are tough, God loves you and watches out for you. Passover is a reminder of God’s control over earthly events and ultimate victory over sin and death. Christ in the Passover will increase your faith in God as you learn that Jesus was sent to earth to become the Passover Lamb for all humanity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here is your key to entering fully into the greatest mystery of the Roman Catholic Church: the transformation of bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ. Whether you struggle to see Christ in the Eucharist or simply desire more out of a Holy Hour, this book will show you how to let the Holy Spirit transform your life through the inexhaustible richness of the Blessed Sacrament. Huge in scope and yet simple and readable, this book covers virtually everything there is to know about the Most Holy Eucharist and it does so while weaving together the harmonious teachings of the Word of God and the Doctors of the Catholic Church, and even the latest insights from Popes John Paul II and Benedict XVI. The Most Holy Eucharist will clear up the dark clouds of unacceptable doctrine and practice while arming you against the Evil One, who sows seeds of doubt and tries to prevent you from being in union with Christ. Let this book give you the clarity and strength needed for this spiritual struggle, and you will experience the radiant and unflinching love of our Lord through his Blessed Sacrament. The wise Opus Dei priest Thomas McGovern explains for you: How the saints of the earliest Church instructed their catechumens to approach the Eucharist. Bread and wine: why they were chosen to embody the memorial of our Redemption. The role Christ calls you to play in the mission of his priesthood. Simple ways you can unite your sufferings with Christ at every Mass. How the Mass is a participation in the one and only sacrifice of Christ on Calvary. The three ways in which Christ presents himself in the Eucharist. How Jesus could offer his Body and Blood at the Last Supper when he had not yet died. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass: why the graces flowing from it are even more abundant than those offered through Holy Communion.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The mind of the Holy See once more plainly declared itself by the mouth of Leo XIII. In his splendid encyclical on the Holy Eucharist, issued on the Feast of Corpus Christi, 1902, the late Pontiff left .us-almost as his last will and testament-some golden words concerning our Saviour's dying legacy of love: "It was towards the close of His mortal life that Christ our Lord left this memorial of His measureless love for men-this powerful means of support ' for the life of the world.' And precisely for this reason We, being so soon to depart this life, can wish for nothing better than that it may be granted to Us to stir up and foster in the hearts of all men the disposition of mindful gratitude and due devotion towards this wonderful Sacrament." Again "But the chief aim of our efforts must be that the frequent reception of the Eucharist 'may be everywhere revived among Catholic people. For this is the lesson which is taught us by the example of the primitive Church, by the decrees of Councils, by the authority of the Fathers and holy men in all ages. Accordingly, all prejudices to the contrary, all those vain fears to which so many yield, and their specious excuses for abstaining from the Holy Eucharist, must be wholly put aside" In the above forcible words of our late Holy Father we have the answer to a possible difficulty: "How is it that the Church has only awoke at this eleventh hour to the ilnportance of frequent Communion? This advocacy of frequent Conlmunion is a new thing." Clearly it is no new thing. The Church has" by decrees of Councils, by the authority of the Fathers and holy men in all ages," taught the immense importance of the practice. But those "prejudices," those "vain fears," those "specious excuses," have to a large extent hindered the faithful from learning the lesson as they should. A contrary practice-as the decree of December, 1905, tells us-has " survived the declarations of the Holy See." In 1900, Leo XIII. had already expressed his mind in similar terms in a Brief addressed to Pere Coube, S.J., a zealous champion of Frequent Communion. " Those who are labouring to strengthen the faith and to reform morals are well advised when they make it their endeavour to exhort the faithful to approach the Holy Table as often as possible; for the more frequently one receives this Holy Sacrament, the more abundant are the fruits of holiness derived therefrom." In February, 1905, our Holy Father, Pope Pius X., caused to be issued an indulgenced prayer" For the spread of the practice of daily Communion." In this devout petition the suppliant is made to entreat our Divine Lord in these terms: "Pour out Thy Divine Spirit in order that those who, through Thy gift, are already living the divine life of grace may, when able, devoutly approach Thy Holy Table daily. So that, receiving through daily Communion the remedy for their daily venial sins, and nourishing in themselves day by day the life of Thy grace, and thus ever purifying their souls more and more, they may at length be united in securing the life of the blessed with Thee." The fact that this prayer has been sanctioned by the Holy Father wonld of itself suffice to prove his own ardent desire to see daily Communion propagated amongst his children. But the grant of an indulgence (300 days) once a day for the devout use of the prayer made it still more plain that the Holy See purported to lead Catholics back as far as possible to primitive Eucharistic practice. The decided step taken by our Holy Father in that direction is but one more application of the motto which he pu blic1y adopted upon ascending the pontifical throne Instaurardc omnia in Christo-" To renew all things in Christ."
