Book excerpt: Is change really inevitable? Is growth really optional? Either way, it's necessary when it's for the best. In order to become a butterfly, you first have to go through the prior three stages: egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, then the butterfly. It's a process! During that process, there is state of metamorphosis (transformation or transitioning). In these stages, growth is contingent upon what takes place during the process. Either you will feed off of necessity for survival or risk the greatness ahead. Before the final stage, there will be bumps, bruises, discomfort and pain, but it prepares you for what's to come. Look at it this way, your present sufferings aren't worthy to be compare to Glory that shall be revealed (Romans 8:18). Find out what it takes to get your wings in order to fly to destiny! It's going to be rough, but the end result is worth it.

Growing up wasn't always joyous, however becoming an adult was definitely a powerful transformation. Like butterflies, women undergo multiple changes to facilitate and carry on life. Representing a never-ending life cycle. This project defines that cycle. The art of maturing, elevating, and flying free. Letting go of old behaviors and expounding into the next phase of life. Forgiving others, spreading love, and freeing your soul. This formulizes, "The Butterfly Effect".

Book excerpt: One of the most beautiful creations made from God is the colorful, free-spirited butterfly. But it was not always this way; it first had to go through several stages before she became that breath taking creature. Women, are like these butterflies, who must go through stages of transformation, in order to reach that final stage of freedom and tranquility that we have now achieved. In the beginning, women were conditioned to believe they were not equal to men. That is, until recently, when thanks to an organization called "I AM WOMAN," love and harmony between men and women have been rekindled along with co-independence, and an equality on every level and in every way. "The Butterfly Effect" is a program designed mainly for women. It is a program that teaches them how their mind works and that the information that is taken-in-through their five sensory systems is assimilated by their mind, and imprinted as a picture on their subconscious mind. That picture, like a magnet, begins to attract all the necessary pieces to, simultaneously, manifest it in our lives. So, women, be careful what you picture because that's exactly what you're going to get! And also remember, the important thing is not to get what you want but to want what you get! Through this simple awareness, we know the tremendous 'Power of Pictures.' As Aristotole said, "there is nothing in the universe that wasn't first a picture in someone's mind." And what picture is more beautiful than that of the two shimmering butterflies joining wings on their fight across the spectacular "Bridge of Equality," in love and harmony? So ladies and gentlemen, wherever you may be, imprint that gorgeous picture of the amazing butterflies that you truly are on your subconscious mind and gently, "I Am Butterfly, Watch Me Soar!."

They are of key significance for all Christian leaders today and indeed, for all Christian believers who would know the real teaching of the Word on the vital subject of personal holiness. Searching behind and beyond the usual forms of holiness doctrine, Dr. Baxter sets forth what he documents as the fully accurate, consistent teaching of the written Word, arresting and alluring in its uncomplicated simplicity. “It is my persuasion that the Bible is trying to say something fresh to us again today on the deeply important, sacredly sensitive matter of Christian sanctification; and in these studies I ask the ready to listen with me - to catch the accents of a new call to holiness as that living voice from heaven speaks again through the written Word.”

Book excerpt: X91;Making change happen’ is an important challenge strategists face today. Not only do many of our organizations need change, whole industries and systems need to transform in order to survive and thrive in a connected society. In this study the complexity-based design approach of imagineering is presented and evaluated for its effectiveness in realizing organizational innovation in a sustainable way.0The method approaches organizational change as an emerging process of self-organization. By redesigning the business concept in the narrative mode a kind of bottom-up revitalizing process is effectuated which ignites the collective creativity of involved stakeholders in a strategically envisioned direction. Instead of focusing on changing behavior as conventional change-methods do, the method focuses on achieving a mind-shift in order to effectuate ‘transformation by inspiration’. The effectiveness of the method is evaluated predominantly through two cases which span a period of approximately ten years: the case of the city of Antwerp, and the case of the oldest Belgian retail-chain, Veritas. Based on insights gained from this study, the author reflects on the implications of the imagineering design method on four fields of study: transformative organizing, strategic thinking, design thinking in management and management education.

The book details more than 80 divinities (gods/goddesses), how they act and interact to maintain the universe, and how they operate in the human being—As Above so Below, and As Below so Above. This Expanded Edition of the book consists of two Parts with a total of 12 Chapters. Part I : The All Who Are THE ONE consists of seven chapters 1 through 7, as follows: Chapter 1: The One is ALL explains that far from being a primitive, polytheistic form, the Egyptians' ideology is the highest expression of monotheistic mysticism. Chapter 2: The Divine Energies of The Creation Cycle covers the role of the divine energies in the creation cycle which accords with scientific principles; and how such divine energies were recognized in later creeds as 'Angels of God'. Chapter 3: Manifestation of Neteru in The Orderly Creation Process covers such manifestation into three primary phases, in the Egyptian creation process accounts. Chapter 4: Understanding Names, Epithets & Titles covers the real secret names and how Egyptians used epithets and titles when referring to the divine energies. Chapter 5: Narration of Their Manifestations explains how the cosmological knowledge of Ancient Egypt was expressed in a story form, which is a superior means for expressing both physical and metaphysical concepts. Chapter 6: Common Misrepresentations of the Divinities in Egypt covers examples of such misrepresnations and provides the real intended representations Chapter 7: Man and The Divine Forces covers man's place in the universal order; man as the image of the universe; the two Heavenly Courts; the three primary Heavenly Helpers to earthly dwellers; and man interactions with the divine forces in the Egyptian temples . Part II : The Roles of Most Recognized Neteru (gods/goddesses) consists of five chapters 8 through 12, as follows: Chapter 8: Mystical Pictorial Depictions covers pictorial symbolism of the Nneteru; and how do Egyptian depictions reflect metaphysical concepts through the use of human figuration, animal symbolism, accessories, emblems, color, etc as well as various action forms Chapter 9: Most Common Animals and Birds Forms Neteru covers the metaphysical significance of several animal images such as that of the ass, baboon, beetle, Bennu/Benben, bulls, cat, cows [Mehet-Uret (Mehurt, Methyer); Hesat, Hathor], crocodile, dog, egg, falcon, feather, fish, frog, goose, hare, heron, hippopotamus, horse, ibis, lions [lion, lioness & twin-lions(Aker)], Phoenix, rams, serpents, stork, vulture, and winged sun. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2024, internationally bestselling author and literary icon Julia Alvarez's In the Time of the Butterflies is "beautiful, heartbreaking and alive ... a lyrical work of historical fiction based on the story of the Mirabal sisters, revolutionary heroes who had opposed and fought against Trujillo." (Concepción de León, New York Times) Alvarez’s new novel, The Cemetery of Untold Stories, is coming April 2, 2024. Pre-order now! It is November 25, 1960, and three beautiful sisters have been found near their wrecked Jeep at the bottom of a 150-foot cliff on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. The official state newspaper reports their deaths as accidental. It does not mention that a fourth sister lives. Nor does it explain that the sisters were among the leading opponents of Gen. Rafael Leónidas Trujillo’s dictatorship. It doesn’t have to. Everybody knows of Las Mariposas—the Butterflies. In this extraordinary novel, the voices of all four sisters--Minerva, Patria, María Teresa, and the survivor, Dedé--speak across the decades to tell their own stories, from secret crushes to gunrunning, and to describe the everyday horrors of life under Trujillo’s rule. Through the art and magic of Julia Alvarez’s imagination, the martyred Butterflies live again in this novel of courage and love, and the human costs of political oppression. "Alvarez helped blaze the trail for Latina authors to break into the literary mainstream, with novels like In the Time of the Butterflies and How the García Girls Lost Their Accents winning praise from critics and gracing best-seller lists across the Americas."—Francisco Cantú, The New York Times Book Review "This Julia Alvarez classic is a must-read for anyone of Latinx descent." —Popsugar.com "A gorgeous and sensitive novel . . . A compelling story of courage, patriotism and familial devotion." —People "Shimmering . . . Valuable and necessary." —Los Angeles Times "A magnificent treasure for all cultures and all time.” —St. Petersburg Times "Alvarez does a remarkable job illustrating the ruinous effect the 30-year dictatorship had on the Dominican Republic and the very real human cost it entailed."—Cosmopolitan.com

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A triumphant memoir by the former editor-in-chief of French Elle that reveals an indomitable spirit and celebrates the liberating power of consciousness. In 1995, Jean-Dominique Bauby was the editor-in-chief of French Elle, the father of two young children, a 44-year-old man known and loved for his wit, his style, and his impassioned approach to life. By the end of the year he was also the victim of a rare kind of stroke to the brainstem. After 20 days in a coma, Bauby awoke into a body which had all but stopped working: only his left eye functioned, allowing him to see and, by blinking it, to make clear that his mind was unimpaired. Almost miraculously, he was soon able to express himself in the richest detail: dictating a word at a time, blinking to select each letter as the alphabet was recited to him slowly, over and over again. In the same way, he was able eventually to compose this extraordinary book. By turns wistful, mischievous, angry, and witty, Bauby bears witness to his determination to live as fully in his mind as he had been able to do in his body. He explains the joy, and deep sadness, of seeing his children and of hearing his aged father's voice on the phone. In magical sequences, he imagines traveling to other places and times and of lying next to the woman he loves. Fed only intravenously, he imagines preparing and tasting the full flavor of delectable dishes. Again and again he returns to an "inexhaustible reservoir of sensations," keeping in touch with himself and the life around him. Jean-Dominique Bauby died two days after the French publication of The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. This book is a lasting testament to his life.
