Book excerpt: Chronic lower back pain-the number one cause of missed workdays and the most common type of back pain-is steadily increasing in both men and women across America, in countries around the globe. With access to advanced allopathic and complementary medicines, why is the trajectory of this issue still on the rise? What are we missing?Since the majority of people with chronic back pain also have structural misalignment, it makes sense to mitigate pain by correcting the issue at its source - the physical misalignment that causes pain. This approach returns the body to its natural pain-free state of health. The BackCare Blueprint provides clear guidance on how to properly align the body in "everyday postures" - standing, sitting, walking, bending, and twisting - because these are the positions that people do most often. Simple mindfulness, breath, and alignment techniques, all with easy to follow instructions, will place the power to heal back in your own hands, where it belongs. In this book, you will identify your main postural misalignment, discover what important step(s) is missing from your current approach to chronic back pain, and shift the attitudes and beliefs that contribute to the cycle of chronic pain. You will gain understanding about the the type of pain you experience and thus the cause of that pain. With this insight, you can select the best practices to correct the misalignment and restore balance to your body. The additional resource section contains information about effective herbal remedies that can replace OTC painkillers and lower the risk of side effects or addiction. If you're ready to shift from a dependency on pain meds, medical procedures, and other people, and adopt a proactive approach to self-healing where you become reliant on your body's innate capacity to heal, this book is for you. Breaking the cycle of chronic pain that you've endured for years (or decades) is possible when you apply the techniques and wisdom of The BackCare Blueprint. Follow this program and step on a path to recovery, healing, and health as you learn to manage and dissolve, chronic back pain, yourself.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chronic pain costs the nation up to $635 billion each year in medical treatment and lost productivity. The 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act required the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to enlist the Institute of Medicine (IOM) in examining pain as a public health problem. In this report, the IOM offers a blueprint for action in transforming prevention, care, education, and research, with the goal of providing relief for people with pain in America. To reach the vast multitude of people with various types of pain, the nation must adopt a population-level prevention and management strategy. The IOM recommends that HHS develop a comprehensive plan with specific goals, actions, and timeframes. Better data are needed to help shape efforts, especially on the groups of people currently underdiagnosed and undertreated, and the IOM encourages federal and state agencies and private organizations to accelerate the collection of data on pain incidence, prevalence, and treatments. Because pain varies from patient to patient, healthcare providers should increasingly aim at tailoring pain care to each person's experience, and self-management of pain should be promoted. In addition, because there are major gaps in knowledge about pain across health care and society alike, the IOM recommends that federal agencies and other stakeholders redesign education programs to bridge these gaps. Pain is a major driver for visits to physicians, a major reason for taking medications, a major cause of disability, and a key factor in quality of life and productivity. Given the burden of pain in human lives, dollars, and social consequences, relieving pain should be a national priority.

Book excerpt: For over a decade now I have been helping people suffering with chronic pain and every day I see and hear of people suffering NEEDLESSLY. I hear these statements all day long, 'There is nothing that can be done', 'The doctors don't know what is wrong.', 'I have to control it with medication', 'I have been told that I need an operation', Or 'I just have to live with it.' Do any of these sound familiar? I am here to tell you, that all of those statements are incorrect and it doesn't have to be that way. I know from my own experience with chronic pain, (which I will tell you about later), and over 14 years with helping others in pain, that there IS another way. In this book I am going to share with you something absolutely revolutionary, which can change your life forever, as it has mine. I am going to show you why you have chronic pain. I am going to share with you the reason your body is doing this to you. And I will show you that it is not random or out of your control. And I am definitely going to show you that you no longer have to live with it. I want to show you that your body is going through a process, like software running on a computer, and your pain is somewhere in that process. I can show you what started it, and where you are in the process, and what you need to do to come out of the other side to be free of your pain. If you are reading this book and you are suffering chronic pain it means one simple thing, you are stuck somewhere in the process. Once you understand why you are stuck you can move forwards through the process, completing it and returning back to health. But I feel I must warn you, the information I am going to share with you in this book is radically different from anything you may have come across before. This information can, and I hope will, change the way you view your health forever. All you need is an open mind, and a desire to be free of pain.
