Book Synopsis The Art of Observing and Adjusting by : Vayu Jung Doohwa

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is for yoga practitioners of all levels. It begins with the "know-how" and fundamentals of postural imbalances and guides the reader through the observation and adjustment of these imbalances, on the basis of the postural type of the practitioner. The book avoids complex anatomical references and opts instead to use over 250 simple color diagrams and images, which make it easier to convey the ideas more clearly, and are simple for teachers and practitioners to follow during self-experimentation. Just as a doctor would prescribe the most relevant treatment after a thorough examination and diagnosis, the teacher will be able to recognize unbalanced postural patterns through observation, and "prescribe" the most appropriate alignments or adjustments. Understanding postural types will guide the teacher toward the correct adjustments in order to restore balance to the practitioner's body. In Part 1 of this book, the author explains how to observe imbalances. In Part 2, the reader will learn postural types systemically according to section imbalance patterns. In Part 3, the author recommends specific ways and principles of adjustment for the different postural types. Vayu Jung Doohwa started teaching traditional Mysore-style Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga classes in his hometown of Busan in 2007, and he established the Yoga VnA studio in 2010. Since then he has been working on the contemporary scientific interpretations of the traditional Ashtanga yoga.

Book Synopsis The Art and Science of Successful Fishing by : Amrahs Hseham
Download or read book The Art and Science of Successful Fishing written by Amrahs Hseham and published by Mahesh Dutt Sharma. This book was released on 2024-01-28 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The narrative unfolds as a journey through the multifaceted aspects of successful fishing, beginning with an exploration of the artistry involved. The book illuminates the subtle nuances of casting, bait presentation, and the instinctual understanding of the water's rhythm—an art perfected through experience and intuition. It celebrates the patient observation required to decipher the language of the water, recognizing that successful anglers possess a unique ability to read the aquatic environment as a canvas waiting to be explored. Interwoven with the artistry is the scientific foundation of the book. It delves into the biology and behavior of fish species, providing insights into their feeding habits, migration patterns, and responses to environmental variables. The scientific perspective adds a layer of precision to the angler's approach, empowering them to make informed decisions based on an understanding of fish biology and ecology. The book places a strong emphasis on the importance of environmental awareness in successful fishing. It explores the impact of weather, water temperature, and seasonal changes on fish activity, guiding anglers to synchronize their efforts with the natural rhythms of the aquatic ecosystem. By integrating the science of ecology into the fishing equation, the book equips readers with the knowledge to adapt and optimize their strategies for varying conditions.
Book Synopsis Biographical Research by : Ana Caetano
Download or read book Biographical Research written by Ana Caetano and published by Taylor & Francis. This book was released on 2022-03-30 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Studying people’s lives requires acknowledging the multiple entanglements between individual singularity and processes of social patterning. This book testifies how challenging and creative the study of these connections can be. It gathers international contributions that show, in imaginative ways, how a person’s life or specific domains of existence can be observed, tackled, and analysed across time. This volume reveals the potential of biographical research in the production of social theory, in the development of methodological innovation, in giving voice and protagonism to people, and in the understanding of the social unfolding of their lives. It is a testimony of a vibrant and youthful field, with a long tradition in social sciences, and with numerous connections with other study areas, namely the life course approach. The different chapters illustrate how the challenges posed by this type of research focused on the individual level of analysis are particular and what creative responses are required to continue analysing the link between biography and society. The chapters in this book were originally published as a special issue of the journal Contemporary Social Science.
