Book excerpt: The Anatomy of Love will help you??Learn the 5 Elements of Love in a healthy relationship?Discover the unspoken secrets of men?Cope with a painful breakup with a step-by-step master guide ?Define the 5 Fundamental Dimensions of compatibility?Challenge the belief of dating who you want vs. who you deserve?Answer the most sought-out questions: What is love? And what does psychology and other science-based research say about it?"Why would Wonder Woman ever need a superpower?"After surviving two painful breakups, I listened to different women in the world of dating and close friends of the opposite sex. As they recounted their personal experiences with men, I didn't know what to think. I was confused as to why competent women, filled with feminine prowess and beauty, would ever succumb to dating these types of men. It left me wondering to what extent they knew of their chosen and superior design-and if they did know, why would Wonder Woman ever need a superpower?Suddenly, I had a compelling, unexpected desire to dive into the banks of my memories, expert advice, and research, devoting a fraction of my life to finding answers and then sharing them with the women of the world. My intention and hope are to lend a humble perspective to the issues of love and relationships women face-thus, The Anatomy of Love.

Book excerpt: Some teach you how to love and stay in love. But nobody tells you what love is or how to acquire it when you don’t have it. How are you supposed to love someone and find happiness if you don’t love yourself, or find happiness within, first? Hugo Bradford’s life changed in an instant when his relationship ended with who might have been the love of his life. Then, he failed once again when he decided to be a different man—a better man. Hugo then set on a path of introspection and healing by researching through the sciences and submerging himself with the voices of experts, experience, and the opinion of women. All to answer one underlying question—what is love? The Anatomy of Love is as sensible as it is perceptive. Tackling the third-most searched word worldwide. Love—A simple, four-letter word that produces over fourteen billion search results on search engines across the internet. Is love something as simple as an evolutionary trait of consciousness and chemical potion in our brains? Or does it mean something else, something we can’t yet explain? This book reveals fundamental truths and uses appropriate, applicable knowledge in ways that work for everyone.

As you journey with me through a few of my personal experiences, I will utilize several parts of the human anatomy, such as the cardiovascular system, as a metaphor to transparently discuss relevant PowerPoints, such as matters of the heart. As the circulatory system’s function is to transport the blood throughout the body, women, we deal with various issues of life that cause us to silently scream simply because we are bleeding while leading. This novel offers strategies to combat blood “dis-Eases,” such as persecution, rejection, brokenness, and betrayal that try to block our flow. As the lymphatic system fights infection, leading ladies, you must understand that anything worth having won’t come easy, but you will have to fight for it. The largest organ in the human body is the skin. Leading ladies, if you are going to break glass ceilings, you have to develop a thick skin. As the bones give the body posture, I admonish women and men alike in leadership roles that challenges will come, but if you remain postured in your faith, you can conquer anything!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 2012 Outstanding Academic Title, Choice Magazine This volume examines the Enlightenment-era textualization of the Black African in European thought. Andrew S. Curran rewrites the history of blackness by replicating the practices of eighteenth-century readers. Surveying French and European travelogues, natural histories, works of anatomy, pro- and anti-slavery tracts, philosophical treatises, and literary texts, Curran shows how naturalists and philosophes drew from travel literature to discuss the perceived problem of human blackness within the nascent human sciences, describes how a number of now-forgotten anatomists revolutionized the era’s understanding of black Africans, and charts the shift of the slavery debate from the moral, mercantile, and theological realms toward that of the “black body” itself. In tracing this evolution, he shows how blackness changed from a mere descriptor in earlier periods into a thing to be measured, dissected, handled, and often brutalized. Penetrating and comprehensive, The Anatomy of Blackness shows that, far from being a monolithic idea, eighteenth-century Africanist discourse emerged out of a vigorous, varied dialogue that involved missionaries, slavers, colonists, naturalists, anatomists, philosophers, and Africans themselves.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Several years ago, two of my colleagues and I had the opportunity to interview Fritz Heider-perhaps the most influential theorist in the field of social psychology (Harvey, Ickes, & Kidd, 1976). During our interview, Heider affirmed a belief that had guided his career since the 1920s, the belief that the study of human relationships is the most important task in which social scientists can engage. Although many social scientists would profess to share this belief, it is nonetheless true that the study of human relationships has been one of the most neglected tasks in the history of the social sciences-including psychology. What Heider found in the 1920s-that most psychologists acknowledged the importance of studying human relationships but at the same time tended to focus their own research on more "tractable" topics such as memory and cognition-is still very much evident in the 1980s. Even within the more specific domain of social psychology, a majority of researchers still choose to address those hybrid topics ("social cognition," "social categorization and stereotyping," "person memory," etc. ) that relate most directly to traditional areas of psychological research. Still other researchers, while choosing to study such important interpersonal phenomena as altruism, aggression, conflict, and interpersonal attraction, tend to focus so exclusively on these isolated and abstracted phenomena that they fail to provide a more inclusive view of the relationships in which these phenomena occur.

If you are ready to harness up, hold on tight, grab success by the reigns, and stop at nothing until you arrive, you will enjoy reading and working with this book.
