Download or read book Billy Graham, God's Ambassador written by Billy Graham and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2007-10-23 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For over sixty years, Billy Graham has traveled the world preaching the Gospel face-to-face to more than one hundred million people. Across the globe in Europe, Asia, North and South America, Australia, and Africa, his crusades have broken stadium attendance records. And with the advent of radio, television, and satellite broadcasts, Graham has reached more than two billion people in his lifetime. Billy Graham: God's Ambassador includes hundreds of photos from the archives of Graham's photographer, Russ Busby, along with quotes, comments, and personal reflections from the past half century, most of them in the words of Graham himself and those who have been the closest to him. Unlike any other book ever published on his life and ministry, this insightful edition captures Graham the advocate, preaching for human rights and world peace; Graham the counselor, with presidents and world leaders; Graham the inspirer, a positive influence in times of conflict and discord; and Graham the husband and father, at home with his family. This unique, once-in-a-lifetime volume beautifully captures the public and private moments of one of the world's most prominent figures, and certainly the most influential Christian of the twentieth century.
Book Synopsis God's Ambassadors by : E. Brooks Holifield
Download or read book God's Ambassadors written by E. Brooks Holifield and published by Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing. This book was released on 2007-09-25 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In God's Ambassadors E. Brooks Holifield masterfully traces the history of America's Christian clergy from the seventeenth to the twenty-first century, analyzing the changes in practice and authority that have transformed the clerical profession. Challenging one-sided depictions of decline in clerical authority, Holifield locates the complex story of the clergy within the context not only of changing theologies but also of transitions in American culture and society. The result is a thorough social history of the profession that also takes seriously the theological presuppositions that have informed clerical activity. With alternating chapters on Protestant and Catholic clergy, the book permits sustained comparisons between the two dominant Christian traditions in American history. At the same time, God's Ambassadors depicts a vocation that has remained deeply ambivalent regarding the professional status marking the other traditional learned callings in the American workplace. Changing expectations about clerical education, as well as enduring theological questions, have engendered a debate about the professional ideal that has distinguished the clerical vocation from such fields as law and medicine. The American clergy from the past four centuries constitute a colorful, diverse cast of characters who have, in ways both obvious and obscure, helped to shape the tone of American culture. For a well-rounded narrative of their story told by a master historian, God's Ambassadors is the book to read.
Book Synopsis The Ambassador of God by : Olumide Sanya MR
Download or read book The Ambassador of God written by Olumide Sanya MR and published by Ambassador of God. This book was released on 2014-02-01 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Ambassador of God provides exhaustive and in-depth answers to very difficult questions about our cosmic origin and the planet earth. Almost everything to do with the Sun, Moon, Stars, Water, Mars, Jupiter, Aliens... and most importantly - God About the book and author _____________________ God is real. And for the first time, experimental and observable science reveals his existence. Throughout history, many have argued the existence of God, yet discussions of the Divine have been limited to the realm of philosophy and religion. But what if nature could reveal its creator? And what if science could provide compelling evidences that we have never seen before? What if the identity of the creator behind the origin of our universe can be known for certain? What if... This is what The Ambassador of God, a ground breaking look at our cosmic origin, has provided. In this probing book, difficult questions are answered. As renowned scientists and thinkers challenge the biblical narratives for our cosmic origin, The Ambassador of God uncovers the mysteries that have been hidden from human eyes. Using compelling evidences from astronomy to investigate the underpinnings of the Bible, The Ambassador of God provides a 'cosmic objective certainty' for the existence of a universal Creator. Additionally, it unveils a well of exhaustive insights that eliminates ambiguities in our understanding. How is it possible that God is one and three distinct persons, but not three Gods? Why is the earth and the human body mostly water? Who created the sun, moon and stars? What about aliens and the other solar planets? What is the mystery and purpose behind human existence and other life forms on our planet earth? Why are we here and how did we first arrive on this planet? How do we come to understand divinity in the current scheme of scientific reasoning? How do we make peace with the grand designer behind it all? Readers seeking answers to these questions (and other similar questions) will find them here. They will not find dogma. Instead, they will embark on a journey-an experimental voyage through the lens of science that reveals the mind of God. In a "show" rather than "tell" fashion and a template that's more coherent than any prevailing secular science view, we shall find who God is! Who is the Author? Olumide Sanya is a contemporary poet and writer. Beside poetry and writing, Lumi, as he is affectionately known, helps others to achieve their dreams as a life coach. Unusually drawn to books between the ages of 4 - 9, Lumi neither enjoyed reading nor read books but spent his childhood years looking for abandoned tomes that he turned into a formidable collection. Despite being a non-reader, he realised the dream of becoming a writer in his tender years and for more than 12 years, he abandoned this dream. ...Until one day, God paid him a visit. But it didn't start there, it began with falling in love and writing poems about love and heartbreaks but that's another story for another year. "God has a sense of humor," says Lumi. "It's not hard to see that if you know my story-where I've been, where I'm at, and what God has planned for my tomorrow. What is most important to recognize is what God can do with a 'nobody' like me." The Ambassador of God, he notes, is not just about answers to large existential questions "It is also a road map that offers optimism and guidance in today's confused and increasingly complex modern world." You don't have to be a physics professor or a philosopher to understand Sanya's work. The Ambassador of God aims to open discussion and understanding at the broadest possible level. It is written for everyday people.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Westminster Assembly is celebrated for its doctrinal standards and debates on church polity. But how often is the assembly noted for its extraordinary intervention in the pulpit ministry of the Church of England? In God’s Ambassadors , Chad Van Dixhoorn recounts the Puritan quest for a reformation in preachers and preaching and how the Westminster Assembly fit into that movement. He examines the assembly’s reform efforts, tracing debates and exploring key documents about preaching in a way that both highlights disagreements within the assembly’s ranks and showcases their collective plan for the church going forward. Moreover, Van Dixhoorn reveals the rationale behind the assembly’s writings and reforms, both in terms of biblical exegesis and practical theology. Unlike any other book, God’s Ambassadors draws attention to the lengths to which the Westminster Assembly would go in promoting godly preachers and improved preaching. Book Synopsis The Ambassadors of Glory by : Okwudili Eze
Download or read book The Ambassadors of Glory written by Okwudili Eze and published by Ifeoma Eze. This book was released on 2018-04-28 with total page 76 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Glory is a weight. This is why you can’t carry it and walk normally. The expression of a man that carries glory is power. Men that manifested heavily on earth are men that had access to the weighty matters of the Spirit. It is the glory of God that connects a man to the weightiness of God. Until you become weighty in the matters of God, you cannot become weighty in the matters of men. The level of weight in the glory that one carries is what determines is place amongst men. In Greek, glory is Tozah – it means dignity and honour. You cannot carry glory without being dignified and honourable. Glory is God putting himself in you so that you can represent him in the affairs of men. It is like God putting his garment on a man because it is not right for him to appear in the earth to carry his operations by himself. So, when he puts his glory in a man, the man then acts on his behalf. And when God puts his weight on a man, the earth cannot resist him. Doors open on their own accord.
