Book Synopsis A Westminster Catechism by : Martin Murphy
Download or read book A Westminster Catechism written by Martin Murphy and published by Martin Murphy. This book was released on 2012-08 with total page 421 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Systematic theology for laymen in the form of a catechism is the format of this book. It is a search for divine truth and theological integrity. More importantly, it is an explanation of the Christian faith. John Calvin said, "When Divine Truth is avowedly attacked, we must not tolerate the adulteration of one single iota of it. It is certainly not a trivial matter to see God's light extinguished by the devil's darkness; and besides, this matter is of greater moment than many suppose. Nor is it true, as they allege, that he who does not acquiesce in the errors of others, shows deadly hate by dissenting from them." Calvin's principle argument is as true today as it has been throughout the history of the church. Calvin was far more ambitious than we might anticipate in the church today. Theological integrity is as important today as it was five centuries ago. Theological integrity may be summarized by a belief system that works out consistently based on the Word of God. If your creedal statement is the result of your understanding of the "full counsel of God" then your theological integrity will be demonstrated in human experience. It was theological integrity that brought Jesus to the point of a deadly confrontation with the right winged conservative religious leaders of his day. This book is a summary of Christian doctrine based on the doctrine of the full counsel of God.

This despite the words of 1 Peter 3:15: "But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." Thankfully, scholars like Henry Morris have seen fit to provide us with good answers for questions posed by Bible critics...and by multitudes of Christians, for Christ himself has provided us with many infallible proofs (Acts 1:2-3). Christians will be strengthened with these topics: Problems in verbal inspirationFulfillment of prophecyThe structure of ScriptureAlleged Bible contradictionsThe Bible and scienceThe Bible and ancient historyThe unique birth of Christ

Download or read book The Golden Alphabet written by Charles H. Spurgeon and published by Hendrickson Publishers. This book was released on 2021-10-05 with total page 197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Golden Alphabet is Charles Spurgeon’s exposition on Psalm 119, published originally in The Treasury of David. Upon noting that the seven-volume treasury was too large for individuals to purchase, he decided to publish smaller sections that are easier to read. “[Psalm 119], from its great length, helps us to wonder at the immensity of Scripture. From its keeping to the same subject it helps us to adore the unity of Scripture, for it is but one. Yet, from the many turns it gives to its one thought, it helps us to see the variety of Scripture. How manifold are the words and thoughts of God in his Word! Just as in creation, the wonders of his skill are displayed in many ways.” —Spurgeon Each section of this particular psalm begins with a letter in the Hebrew alphabet, earning it the nickname “The Golden Alphabet.” Readers can now enjoy reading Spurgeon’s personal thoughts and learn from his theological insight, breathing new life into this muchbeloved psalm. Key points and features:A timeless classic, repackaged for a modern audienceSpurgeon’s exposition on Psalm 119 from his original The Treasury of DavidSpurgeon’s commentaries are incredibly popular for their keen theological insights, pastoral care, and devotional nature
Book Synopsis The Living Alphabet by : Angeline Welk
Download or read book The Living Alphabet written by Angeline Welk and published by Light Technology Publishing. This book was released on 2016-11-22 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Now more than ever, cursive handwriting needs to be included in our curriculum of evolution because appropriate cursive maintains neurological connections, establishes new pathways to receive higher frequencies of knowledge, and activates latent regions of the brain that transmit through the whole physiological design. In addition, each letter in the alphabet is a channel to activate for specific wisdom and knowledge within the individual and collective mind-spirit. When we resonate with each letter, we become part of its directive consciousness to be expressed in this physical reality. We attain this resonance as we mindfully write the letters, allowing their spiritual rays to activate within us the extended consciousness of the Infinite Mind that each represents. Divine attainment is coded within the alphabet. Students of all ages can progress beautifully in consciousness through cursive writing and alphabet studies. This book is composed of two parts: • The first includes articles that appeared in the Sedona Journal of Emergence! about each letter. Following each article is a guide on how to form that letter and a mantra to use as you trace it. • The second part is a workbook with exercises designed to increase your connection to your true being and the universe.
Book Synopsis The Golden Alphabet (Updated, Annotated) by : Charles H. Spurgeon
Download or read book The Golden Alphabet (Updated, Annotated) written by Charles H. Spurgeon and published by Aneko Press. This book was released on 2018-06-01 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Blessed are those who walk in the perfect way, who walk in the law of the LORD. – Psalm 119:1 The singular blending of testimony, prayer, and praise in Psalm 119 is admirable. In one verse, the psalmist bears witness; in a second verse, he praises; in a third verse, he prays. It is an incense made up of many spices, but they are wonderfully mixed and worked together to form one perfect sweetness. The blending greatly increases the value of the whole. You would not like to have the first third of the psalm composed of prayer, then second third made up exclusively of praise, and the third portion entirely made of testimony. It is best to have all these divinely sweet ingredients intermixed and worked together into a sacred unity, as you have them in this thrice-hallowed psalm. Its prayers bear witness, and its testimonies are fragrant with praise. This wonderful psalm, from its great length, helps us to marvel at the immensity of Scripture. As it keeps to the same subject, it helps us adore the unity of Scripture. Yet, from the many turns it brings to that one subject, it helps us see the variety of Scripture. How manifold are the words and thoughts of God! In His Word, just as in creation, the wonders of His skill are displayed in many ways.
Book Synopsis Seeing and savouring Jesus Christ by : JOHN PIPER
Download or read book Seeing and savouring Jesus Christ written by JOHN PIPER and published by Inter-Varsity Press. This book was released on 2020-05-21 with total page 105 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Who is Jesus Christ? You've never met Him in person, and you don't know anyone who has. But there is a way to know who he is. How? Jesus Christ - the divine Person revealed in the Bible - has a unique excellence and a spiritual beauty that speaks directly to our souls and says, "Yes, this is truth." It's like seeing the sun and knowing that it is light, or tasting honey and knowing that it is sweet. The depth and complexity of Jesus shatter our simple mental frameworks. He baffled proud scribes with his wisdom but was understood and loved by children. He calmed a raging storm with a word but would not get himself down from the cross. Look at the Jesus of the Bible. Keep your eyes open, and fill them with the portrait of Jesus in God's Word. Jesus said, "If anyone's will is to do God's will, He will know whether the teaching is from God or whether I am speaking on my own authority." Ask God for the grace to do His will, and you will see the truth of His Son. John Piper has written this book in the hope that all will see Jesus for who he really is and will come to enjoy him above all else.

Book Synopsis The Candour A.B.C. of Politics by : Rosine de Bounevialle
Download or read book The Candour A.B.C. of Politics written by Rosine de Bounevialle and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2017-10-16 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Candour A.B.C. of Politics was originally serialised in Candour between August 1989 and August 1995. It was intended to publish in book form the text that Rosine de Bounevialle referred to as her "only literary baby" long ago, but it was not to be in her lifetime. The text is an idiosyncratic and wonderful testament of her values. One hundred years after her birth it is fitting that that such an influential and elemental force be remembered and recognised.
