Book excerpt: Believe it or not, an American president was arrested for running over a woman with his horse. He was not the only one to be arrested (two more were). George Washington preferred fox hunting with his dogs than going to church. Young Abraham Lincoln fell into a deep ditch and was saved by his dog. And after he was assassinated, his dog `Fido’ also was assassinated. Who was the President who worked as a bartender? And the one who once officially served as an executioner? The President of the United States is considered one of the world's most powerful people, leading the world’s only current superpower. His role includes being the commander-in-chief of the world's most expensive military with the largest nuclear arsenal with the nuclear button on his desk. This book is the result of over a decade of research and writing. It is a comprehensive compendium - a single-volume book, about the 44 men the entire world looked upon as the most powerful men in the world. 44 men who formed the 45 presidencies of the United States of America through 58 quadrennial presidential elections in the 230 years from 1789. This book covers the presidency of the successful liquor distributor and owner of a distillery George Washington, to the presidency of Donald Trump, the oldest, wealthiest man without any prior military or government service experience to ever assume the presidency.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: President Donald J. Trump lays out his professional and personal worldview in this classic work—a firsthand account of the rise of America’s foremost deal-maker. “I like thinking big. I always have. To me it’s very simple: If you’re going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think big.”—Donald J. Trump Here is Trump in action—how he runs his organization and how he runs his life—as he meets the people he needs to meet, chats with family and friends, clashes with enemies, and challenges conventional thinking. But even a maverick plays by rules, and Trump has formulated time-tested guidelines for success. He isolates the common elements in his greatest accomplishments; he shatters myths; he names names, spells out the zeros, and fully reveals the deal-maker’s art. And throughout, Trump talks—really talks—about how he does it. Trump: The Art of the Deal is an unguarded look at the mind of a brilliant entrepreneur—the ultimate read for anyone interested in the man behind the spotlight. Praise for Trump: The Art of the Deal “Trump makes one believe for a moment in the American dream again.”—The New York Times “Donald Trump is a deal maker. He is a deal maker the way lions are carnivores and water is wet.”—Chicago Tribune “Fascinating . . . wholly absorbing . . . conveys Trump’s larger-than-life demeanor so vibrantly that the reader’s attention is instantly and fully claimed.”—Boston Herald “A chatty, generous, chutzpa-filled autobiography.”—New York Post

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You've seen other books about the POTUS... but never anything like this! A Caricature History of the Presidents of the United States depicts a caricature portrait of all 45 presidents from Washington to Trump in the order they served office. Each president is painstakingly drawn with a level of detail and clarity never before seen in a book about the presidents of the United States. And as a special bonus, you'll be taken "inside the artist's studio" with a step-by-step tour of how the caricatures in the book were created. For each president, a dossier or fact sheet accompanies his caricature portrait. Basic information about the man, his family, and specific historical events that took place during his administration help the reader to get to know the president better. These include his date of birth and death (or his current age if he's still alive), the years of his presidency, his political party, who his vice president and first lady were, and how many children (if any) he had. In addition, a paragraph summarizing the history of the president's years in office follows every presidential caricature portrait. The presidents are depicted in a respectful way, but with a fun, whimsical point of view. These are not grossly distorted and exaggerated caricatures. Rather, it's a fresh look at the famous and historical faces as seen through the artist's unique lens. You recognize the faces, but in a fun and new interesting way! Certain features have been exaggerated, such as the size of the nose, the eyebrow thickness, and the ''interesting" hairdos, especially from the early 1800s era. This book appeals to readers of all ages who are history buffs, art enthusiasts, fans of caricature, or all of the above! Elementary, middle, and high school students who are studying U.S. history will enjoy seeing the presidents depicted as a "cartoon" different than the traditional history books or other historical media they are accustomed to. College students and young adults who are familiar with the presidents from books, TV documentaries, movies, and other media will appreciate a new interesting take on the presidents that focuses on their individual unique characteristics. Adults and seniors who've lived through many presidents will appreciate how technology, style, fashion, and trends evolve through the generations and how the presidents reflect these changes in our society. The 45 presidents are divided into 9 chapters of 5 presidents each. These chapters break down the historical periods that spanned each presidency: 1) The Founding Fathers, 2) The Jacksonian Era, 3) Manifest Destiny and a Nation Divided, 4) The Civil War and Reconstruction, 5) The Gilded Age, 6) The Progressive Era, WWI, and the Roaring 20s, 7) The Great Depression, WWII, and the Cold War, 8) The Vietnam War, Domestic Strife, and Return to Prosperity, and 9) A New World Order. It's fun to see each the president presented in a timeline that shows how the fashion styles have evolved over the years from frilly neckerchiefs, to satin bow ties, to Victorian era lapels and collars, to the modern suit and tie. It's also interesting to note how the presidents posed for their portraits over the years. In the beginning they were very stoic, serious and sober expressions of concern and a sense of authority. Their mouths were closed. Later on in the era of mass media and television, the presidents posed more with a warm open smile showing their pearly whites.The reference for these portraits were all taken from paintings, drawings, etchings, photos, archived film footage, and video footage. Many sources were examined thoroughly before choosing the right portrait the artist felt depicted the unique quality of the person. Since these men were well known public figures most of their lives, many images exist showing them at different ages. The artist specifically chose portraits that depicted the president at the age he was during his presidency.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For more than a half century, David Levine has taken on the most powerful men of the free world with only his pen and a bottle of India ink. That pen has proved to be mightier than the sword as Levine skewered, illuminated, satirized and condemned every president of the 20th century, as well as the most significant presidents from colonial times and the Civil War era. His drawing of Lyndon Johnson revealing a scar in the shape of Vietnam is considered one of the most recognized (and most copied) of the Vietnam era. His devastating wit and delicately cross hatched drawing have exposed the venality of the Nixon administration, the phoniness of the Reagan years, the duplicity of the Clinton era, and the evil of the Bush cabal. Nine administrations have come and gone during Levine's tenure, and with a new one on the horizon, the artist remains, unbowed, unfazed, and unrelenting. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 13.9px Arial; color: #424242}

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every American president, from Washington to Biden: Their lives, policies, foibles, and legacies, assessed with clear-eyed authority and wit. Authors of the acclaimed Killing books, the #1 bestselling narrative history series in the world, Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard begin a new direction with Confronting the Presidents. From Washington to Jefferson, Lincoln to Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Kennedy to Nixon, Reagan to Obama and Biden, the 45 United States presidents have left lasting impacts on our nation. Some of their legacies continue today, some are justly forgotten, and some have changed as America has changed. Whether famous, infamous, or obscure, all the presidents shaped our nation in unexpected ways. The authors' extensive research has uncovered never before seen historical facts based on private correspondence and newly discovered documentation, such as George Washington's troubled relationship with his mother. In Confronting the Presidents, O’Reilly and Dugard present 45 wonderfully entertaining and insightful portraits of each president, with no-spin commentary on their achievements—or lack thereof. Who best served America, and who undermined the founding ideals? Who were the first ladies, and what were their surprising roles in making history? Which presidents were the best, which the worst, and which didn’t have much impact? How do decisions made in one era, under the pressure of particular circumstances, still resonate today? And what do presidents like to eat, drink, and do when they aren’t working—or even sometimes when they are? These and many more questions are answered in each fascinating chapter of Confronting the Presidents. Written with O’Reilly and Dugard’s signature style, authority, and eye for telling detail, Confronting the Presidents will delight all readers of history, politics, and current affairs, especially during the 2024 election season.

This book was released on 2018-02-03 with total page 30 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: List of Presidents of the United States ALL 50 The President of the United States is the elected head of state and head of government of the United States. The president leads the executive branch of the federal government and is the commander-in-chief of the United States Armed Forces. The president is indirectly elected to a four-year term by the people through the Electoral College. Since the office was established in 1789, 44 men have served as president. The first, George Washington, won a unanimous vote of the Electoral College. Grover Cleveland served two non-consecutive terms in office, and is counted as the nation's 22nd and 24th presidents; the incumbent, Donald Trump, is therefore the 45th president. There are currently five living former presidents. The most recent death of a former president was on December 26, 2006 with the death of Gerald Ford; the most recently serving president to die was Ronald Reagan on June 5, 2004. William Henry Harrison's presidency was the shortest in American history. He died 31 days after taking office in 1841. Franklin D. Roosevelt served the longest, over twelve years, before dying early in his fourth term in 1945. He is the only U.S. president to have served more than two terms. Since the ratification of the Twenty-second Amendment to the United States Constitution in 1951, no person may be elected president more than twice, and no one who has served more than two years of a term to which someone else was elected may be elected more than once.[1] Of the elected presidents, four died in office of natural causes (William Henry Harrison, Zachary Taylor, Warren G. Harding, and Franklin D. Roosevelt), four were assassinated (Abraham Lincoln, James A. Garfield, William McKinley and John F. Kennedy), and one resigned (Richard Nixon). John Tyler was the first vice president to assume the presidency during a presidential term, and set the precedent that a vice president who does so becomes the fully functioning president with his own presidency, as opposed to a caretaker president. The Twenty-fifth Amendment to the Constitution put Tyler's precedent into law in 1967. It also established a mechanism by which a mid-term vacancy in the vice presidency could be filled. Richard Nixon was the first president to fill a vacancy under this Provision when he appointed Gerald Ford to the office. Later, Ford became the second to do so when he appointed Nelson Rockefeller to succeed him. Previously, a mid-term vacancy was left unfilled. Throughout most of its history, American politics has been dominated by political parties. The Constitution is silent on the issue of political parties, and at the time it came into force in 1789, there were no parties. Soon after the 1st Congress convened, factions began rallying around dominant Washington Administration officials, such as Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. Greatly concerned about the very real capacity of political parties to destroy the fragile unity holding the nation together, Washington remained unaffiliated with any political faction or party throughout his eight-year presidency. He was, and remains, the only U.S. president never to be affiliated with a political party.[2] Since Washington, every president has been affiliated with a political party at the time they assumed office.
