People who have already begun (or though they had completed) their estate planning now need to review their estate plans in order to determine if their plans still help them. For people who have not begun the estate planning process, there is no better time to start. Estate Planning After The New Tax Law covers the basics and all of the complexities of estate planning. Using practical examples drawn from real life, the book examines the fundamentals of avoiding the probate of a decedents estate and reduction of estate taxes, starting with the basic tool, the living trust. The book avoids jargon and legalese, but does not skimp on the intricacies of estate planning law and practice.

Book Synopsis Irs for Lawyers and Other Dorks by : Matis
Download or read book Irs for Lawyers and Other Dorks written by Matis and published by Dog Ear Publishing. This book was released on 2010-04 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Outrageous stories about the IRS, the Internal Revenue Service, and you the American taxpayer. Funny stories. You will laugh. You will learn. Your will learn how the IRS works. Your will learn how to deal with them and, you will learn not to be afraid of them. This is a book for everyone; everyone who is in the tax system; and everyone who is not. It is twenty plus years of "hands on" experience of dealing with the IRS. Written in simple, humorous, and informative language, it is for everyone. True stories about you and the taxman, the IRS. You will laugh...and you will learn. Vendel "Ven" Matis was born and, for the most part, raised in New Jersey. That should explain a lot. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1964 and received his law degree, JD, from the Marshall-Wyth School of Law, the College of William & Mary, the oldest law school in the country. He has been an attorney since 1969 and began to practice as a tax attorney in 1977. He was a certified specialist in the United States Tax Court. He is now retired. Mr. Matis has traveled extensively throughout the world. He's drunk blood with the Masai in Africa and visited Macchu Pichu, the lost city of the Incas in the Peruvian Andes. He's also done far more dangerous things; he was an Estate planning consultant in Beverly Hills, CA and an expert in offshore trusts in The Caymans in the 1970's. In 1983, Mr.Matis began his tax practice, dealing with the audit and collection divisions of the IRS and the three taxing agencies of the State of California. He chose to represent middle-class Americans who needed the help. He is a "hands-on" specialist who worked every day dealing with middle class tax problems for over 20 years, on behalf of the "average guy." In 2004 he retired and now functions as a consultant. He has written this book for you- the American Taxpayer.

Book excerpt: This book is a wake-up call to the American legal community, and an insistence that it answer to the silent distress of millions of financially overburdened working people. Because of the unique structure of our legal system, American lawyers have a moral and legal duty to enforce certain tax constraints on government that would favor workers, and lawyers are failing miserably. Support my nonprofit to help lawyers everywhere recognize our Constitutions two classes of taxation, so they and their clients can eventually know the difference between taxes: (1) on property under the Direct Tax Clauses, (2) on income derived from property sources under the Sixteenth Amendment, and (3) on income derived from non-property sources under the Uniformity (or Indirect Tax) Clause. By analyzing the history of Supreme Court tax cases, starting with Hylton (1796) and ending with Lopez (1995), and dividing the cases into three eras, this book will help you understand why the American tax system is the most unique and revolutionary in history.
