Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tales of Tails was written to share the joy I experienced over a lifetime with animals. I have learned to love and respect them, whether they are domestic or wild. The book strives to give a voice to these animals and let them tell their story. Several of the tales show unseen relationships between animals that commonly exist in nature. Some of the tales are of animals I have treated as a Veterinarian of medical or surgical problems. Much can be learned from animals through the course of medical treatments. I enjoy sharing my animal lore stories with others through various nature hikes and conversations. The sketches were drawn by a friend who shares my love and respect of animals. Animals are a large part of her life, and she shares my respect for all on God's earth.

Book excerpt: The world is full of life. It teems with living beings wherever you look, whether on Earth, in the air or underwater. They range in size from the gigantic whale to the tiniest insect. Each species plays a role in breeding, feeding and weeding before disappearing into the pages of history. Even the great dinosaur has become a thing of the past after ruling over the earth for millions of years. The animals may have gone. But their stories entertain us like schools of fish frolicking in a river. These stories look at animals and quirks of their character that you will find amusing. I hope you will enjoy the stories and also tell them to your children, which will instill in them a lasting love for wildlife.

Download or read book Zoo Tails written by Oliver Graham Jones and published by Random House. This book was released on 2015-12-03 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One puff adder, one antelope, one crocodile – This was the list of sick animals presented to Oliver Graham-Jones on his first day as a new vet at London Zoo in 1951. And his time at the zoo didn’t get any less strange or entertaining... There’s the time he anaesthetized, and was then chased by, a gorilla; had to capture an angry polar bear in thick fog; performed a colostomy on a python; and fitted a raven in the Tower of London with a wooden leg. And if an animal escaped (more frequently than you might think) or required urgent medical attention, he was always on hand, ready for any eventuality. With his self-deprecating humour, Oliver frequently described himself as quaking with fear, but he was also skilful, brave and, most of all, incredibly caring and kind to his animal patients.
Download or read book Broadway Tails written by Bill Berloni and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2020-06-01 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The sun always comes out tomorrow for the shelter animals Bill Berloni rescues—sometimes from death’s door—and then trains to meet the demands of the stage. Berloni was a nineteen-year-old theater apprentice more then three decades ago when he was offered his first big break: find and train a dog to appear in the original production of the Broadway hit Annie. Defying the odds, he rescued a down-on-his-luck dog from a local shelter and, together, they redefined what animal performers could do. Since then Berloni and his trainers have provided animals for hundreds of films, commercials, and television shows as well as live theater, including productions of The Wizard of Oz and Winn-Dixie, all over North America. In this heartwarming book, he tells the true stories of “throw-away” animals who came back to work with some of entertainment’s biggest names, names like Bernadette Peters, Sarah Jessica Parker, Mike Nichols, the New York City Ballet, and many more. This updated edition includes an account of Berloni’s search for the newest Sandy to star with everyone’s favorite red-headed orphan.

The bed-time stories are printed in Russian and English. True authors of fairy tales live in castles with high towers and there over a cup of cocoa write stories for children. They have a pen and funny hat. I have no castle, no pen, and no hat. But I have a little son who likes fairy tales but cannot write them himself. Therefore, I have to do this. Although I know how he would have called the main characters: Bumbala and Dumbala. They will certainly meet you in the pages of this book! You should only close your eyes and listen carefully... Happy reading and nice dreams!
