Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book I share my journey with God and how it unfolded over my life time. My journey began on a dark November night when I lost my way. I was returning from a cousins birthday party in Brooklyn. It was one am. I missed the turn on a road I had driven all of my youth growing up in Brooklyn. Not quite sure where I was I stopped at a stop sign and began to pray. I was scared, as the neighborhood was alive with drug activity and crowded street corners. In a few minutes of that prayer the front part of a white tractor trailer pulled along side my car. I lowered my window and asked this big burly man for directions back to the main artery that would lead me to the ninety mile trip home. He told me to follow him as he was going that way, but had to make a stop first. Had I not heard the compassion in his voice I would have never followed him. We weaved through streets unknown to me and made a stop in front of a housing project. I left the motor running and waited. He returned with a women who climbed into the cab. Again we weaved through streets unknown to me. Suddenly he stopped and began to walk over to my car. I gripped the steering wheel. He pointed to a big sign that announced the entrance to the expressway that would lead me home. Filled with joy I lowered my window to express my thanks. He returned to his truck made a right hand turn as I made the left to enter on to the expressway. I had a clear view of the flaps on his back tires as the street lights reflected their glow. It said Transportation for Christ. My journey had begun.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I havent always been a Christian, but through a series of extraordinary events, I became one. The Lord has shown Himself to me in so many beautiful and special ways, I could not ignore the power of his acceptance, love, and grace. Through Him I have touched the lives of many, just as they have touched my life. I want people to know that when He gives you a story, you should share it with as many people as you can. Spread the word of His love and sacrifice to all you meet. You might get some strange looks, but I will tell you one thing: those you meet who enjoy your message and are open to the workings of the Lord will be your forever friends. I wrote this book to tell everyone how He has affected me throughout my life, even when I was too stubborn to give Him a second thought. He can change your life too; you just have to be open to Him. Take His hand! I did, and I have never been happier. I have faith and trust that I will, some glorious day, look upon his face.

Both authors show mostly triditional rhyme style, but show a contrast with thier story-telling. You will feel yourself in these wonderful poems, as if you have lived it, been there in some point in your life. You will laugh, smile, and cry. They were written over a fifty-year period, and, over that time, my experiences have grown and my sensibilities have shifted in various ways. But it seems to me that we are all on a very similar journey. And my hope is that there is something in here for you—that the songs on the wind that have come to me, moved me, carried me, will help sing you homeward as well.

Book excerpt: How do we walk with Christ—daily follow him, grow in him, and faithfully serve him? In the Gospels, Jesus modeled for us the Christian spiritual life. The apostles taught it in their writings. And the Church has, through the last 2,000 years, sought to pursue this Christian spiritual life. In The Walk, Adam Hamilton focuses on five essential spiritual practices that are rooted in Jesus’ own walk with God and taught throughout the New Testament. Each of these practices is intended as part of our daily walk with Christ while also being an essential part of growing together in the church. In each chapter, Hamilton explores one of these practices, its New Testament foundation, and what it looks like to pursue this practice daily in our personal life and together in the life of the church. Deepen your walk with Christ as we explore the five essential practices of worship, study, serving, giving, and bearing witness to our faith. Additional components for a six-week adult study include a comprehensive Leader Guide and a DVD featuring the engaging teachings of author and pastor Adam Hamilton. Also available are resources for children and youth.
