La citada ley fue reformada prácticamente en su totalidad tras la aprobación de la Ley 26/2015, de 28 de Julio, de modificación del sistema de protección a la infancia y a la adolescencia. Tratamos las cuestiones básicas relativas a la adopción, el vínculo con la familia de origen y adoptiva del menor y la irrevocabilidad de la misma, así como su tramitación y reconocimiento en el sistema español, haciendo hincapié en la declaración de idoneidad de los adoptantes y la supremacía del interés superior del menor como principio fundamental. También se incluye la visión del Derecho comparado en distintos países que analizamos por sus peculiaridades, por ello, hemos elegido los siguientes: los países magrebíes en los cuales rige la institución de la kafala islámica; países latinoamericanos como Colombia y Guatemala que gozan de una adopción similar a la del sistema español; China como punto demográfico con un alto número de solicitudes consecuencia, entre otras, de la política de hijo único y Etiopía que actualmente ha cerrado sus fronteras impidiendo la llegada de nuevas solicitudes y la resolución de expedientes ya en trámite.
