Some were typographical, some were due to lapse of memory on the part of those who kindly furnished the records of other families which could not be obtained otherwise, or to oversight in copying or proof reading, or the difficulty in deciphering the chirography of some correspondents. As these corrections and additions have largely been furnished by members of the families directly con cerned they may be deemed reliable. Much interesting material has been added, notably the completion of the records of the Jordan family, of Oliver Cady, Isaac Cady and others which the compiler trusts will be duly appreciated.
