Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Greater New York Charter as Enacted in Including and Amended This work pursues the same general plan followed in former edi tions. It contains in their proper order in the text, all the amend ments made during the sessions of the legislature of 1907, 1908, 1909, 1910 and 1911, together with annotations under the various sections, of the decisions of the courts, published since the last edi tion, construing provisions of the charter and other statutes re lating to the City of New York. Three hundred and twenty-four sections of the charter have either been amended, repealed or added since the last publication. A num ber of sections have been amended several times. The amend ments made since 1906 to that part of the New York City Consoli dation Act (l. 1882, ch. 410) still in force, have been added in an appendix. In 1905, two acts were passed by the legislature to provide for an additional water supply for the City of New York, which displace many of the existing provisions of the charter, and therefore these acts, as amended to and including the year 1911, have been reprinted in full with notes of decisions, in another appendix. The annotations include cases appearing in 203 N. Y., 146 App. Div., 73 Misc., and 132 N. Y. Supp. References are also given to decisions in the New York Law Journal, not elsewhere reported.
