Book excerpt: This book "Supernatural Power From On High" will be your guidebook for gaining the Holy Spirit's supernatural power and experiencing the Spirit-filled life. What gifts would you like to receive? I deserve to enjoy what God has allowed me to enjoy because I am a child of God. All things God has provided for me are good and wonderful. Using them in an orderly manner is greatly beneficial. What about you? If God says, “What is the gift you most want to have in your life now? I will give you that”, what gift will you tell Him to give you? Some will want to get a luxury car, some a big house, some a doctorate, some honor, some a beautiful and prudent wife, or a handsome and faithful husband. Then you will receive a gift as He promised to give. But what you really want most is not the things that will decay someday, or those who will grow old. Likewise, the best gift God wants to give us is not things or people. So what is the best gift? Holy Spirit is the best gift One day, Jesus taught his disciples to pray. “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children”(Luke 11:11-13). Then the Lord mentioned the best gift to his disciples. how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! (Luke 13:13b) The purpose of Jesus’ teaching to His disciples seems to teach that the Holy Spirit is the best gift. Since the best gift that is the Comforter Jesus went up to heaven, the disciples needed another Comforter. Another Comforter is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the best gift like Jesus. Only Jesus, the best gift, could send us the Holy Spirit, which is the best gift. Peter suggested a way to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit when preaching to thousands of Jews on the day of Pentecost. Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 2:38) Those who have not carefully read the above verse tend to think that they would receive the gift of the Holy Spirit through frequent prayers, fasting, or a lot of amount of offerings and frequent worships. When I was still spiritually young, I also thought I would receive the Holy Spirit by a lot of fasting and prayer. The difference between the recipient of the gift and the recipient of the prize is remarkable. A person who receives a prize must be good at something, and his achievement must be recognized. On the other hand, a person who receives a gift receives it according to the decision of the one who gives, even if he has no achievement or merit. So receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit is more glorious and gracious than receiving any prize of the world, even if it is a Nobel Prize. If we have to do the righteous act of the law to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, none of us can meet that condition. Rather, God knew that we could not meet the heavy demands of the law, so He sent us the Holy Spirit so that we could live only through Jesus’ redemptive grace.

Book Synopsis Taking Hold of Eternal Life by : Paul Bird
Download or read book Taking Hold of Eternal Life written by Paul Bird and published by Trumpet Press. This book was released on 2022-02-14 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The most important event of my life occurred during July, 1969, when as an atheist I had an abrupt and totally unexpected encounter with the living God of the universe. Believing, I was thus born again from spiritual death and became by God's grace a 'new creation.' Since then, I have been involved in a number of ministries, traveled much, lived in various countries. My life has been exciting, though not without sadness and tragedy. When I encountered God, I was a cynical, hard-bitten, sarcastic sophist. By His wonderful grace, He has made me (a hopefully productive) member of His kingdom. My consuming interest is to introduce others to the God I know. “For this is eternal life...” Taking Hold Of Eternal Life (1 Timothy 6:12) is what I did after God confronted me on the weekend of my 34th birthday, July 27, 1969. This book tells what led up to that momentous event and then what followed as God in His mercy delivered me from atheism and immediately plunged me into Biblical revelation and ministerial involvement in His kingdom. As the account of my life walking hand-in-hand with Him shows in the pages of this book, God used me in each of the five "callings" listed in Ephesians 4:11. Over the course of forty-five years God has had me involved in numerous churches & various ministries which has resulted in the comments and articles that are also contained in this book. I pray that God uses this book to bless you greatly!
Download or read book Golden Glory written by Ruth Ward Heflin and published by . This book was released on 2016-04 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God has never stopped performing signs and wonders for those who believe, and He never will. What we are seeing in the dawning days of the new millennium, however, is something altogether new and different. God is suddenly sending a visible glory, a golden glory, as gold dust or glory dust, upon His people. This golden glory is appearing on Christians of every denominational background. It comes to us as we pray and as we worship, but it is also falling upon us as we go about our daily activities. This golden glory is being manifested to those who seek it, and also to some who don't. It is a sovereign act of God to show His presence and His power in these last days. It is a wake-up call for the nations, a visible sign to the whole world, this rain of God's Golden Glory.
Book Synopsis Demythologizing Revelation by : Chester O'Gorman
Download or read book Demythologizing Revelation written by Chester O'Gorman and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2019-05-24 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is revelation? Is it still relevant in the twenty-first century? In the twentieth century, radical theologian Rudolf Bultmann sought an answer by demythologizing scripture and Christian tradition. Most philosophers and theologians agree that he failed adequately to demythologize revelation through his notion, the kerygma. In Demythologizing Revelation: A Critical Continuation of Rudolf Bultmann’s Project, Chester O’Gorman corrects this shortcoming to continue Bultmann’s project, demythologizing Jesus Christ as revelation through the philosophy of Slavoj Žižek. Drawing support from other notable thinkers including Judith Butler, Thomas Altizer, Albert Camus, Rene Girard, and Martin Luther, O’Gorman proffers a non-supernatural account and theory of revelation. This theory enables both Christians and atheists to identify sites of revelation today so that all might better understand and participate in its ongoing liberation of humanity from sin and oppression, for the sake of all creation.

Download or read book Above the Horizons written by Rodney Neu and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2015-07-31 with total page 532 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the act of writing this book I have found many consistencies in our lives that are relevant to Gods word. I owe my life to God. What words we speak then that will become of ourselves. Of we expect mental breakdown, loss of our dreams; then that shall it be. We must wake up with an agenda. Have a course of action when arising from the bed. If you speak words that delay your success then that becomes a day of loss. How many of those can you handle? As long as your mind fulfills the capacity of not changing, staying in the same situation, not building a foundation, you will find yourself on the course of destruction. Let me tell you this right now you are more than what you think about yourself, you are more than what your relationships are, you are more than that house payment, you are more than what that car makes you think you are, in fact think of those times your life should have been over but you are still here. Keep getting up again and again till you get it right. You will have indications that will bring you to a greater purpose. Refuse to let the challenges of life bring you down. Never let the mastery of failure discourage your right to speak, to live and to bring existence to your honor so that others can learn. Be challenged for the right reasons.

Book excerpt: For as long as he can remember, Blake K. Healy has seen angels and demons. He sees them as clearly as he would see you if you were standing right in front of him. He sees angels dancing in worship services and whispering words of encouragement in people’s ears. He also sees demons latching on to people and perpetuating addiction and bitterness in their hearts. The Veil chronicles how Blake matured in this gifting, while overcoming the fear and confusion of what he saw, how he learned to use his gift of seeing for God’s glory, and how to teach others to do the same. This new and updated version of The Veil also includes a brief guide on how to begin growing in the gift of seeing in the spirit yourself, as well as an appendix of scriptural references to the spirit realm and angels, along with Blake’s commentary on these passages.
