En effet, il s'agit d'un phénomène de perception, fruit d'une construction sociale où interviennent de multiples facteurs en interaction. En raison de ces facteurs, la perception du climat de l'entreprise est hétérogène. Partant de ce constat, l'objectif de cette étude est d'analyser un sujet peu abordé dans la littérature organisationnelle: les facteurs de contingence qui affectent la perception du climat organisationnel, chez une population de salariés-cadres et assimilés cadres travaillant dans des entreprises en France. L'échantillon est composé des salariés-cadres et assimilés cadres en formation continue à l'Institut d'Administration des Entreprises de Paris (n = 512 L'outil de mesure utilisé est un questionnaire original composé de 143 items mesurés avec une échelle de Likert de 6 points. Les analyses bivariées démontrent une influence prépondérante du sexe, de la taille et du domaine d'activité. Ces résultats sont confirmés par une analyse multivariée (régression logistique multinomiale). Ces résultats représentent des enjeux importants non seulement pour les mesures du climat, mais aussi pour les politiques qui en découlent. Le climat est un phénomène multifactoriel endogène et exogène. A l'origine de toute enquête destinée à l'évaluer, nous retrouvons toujours la complexité. Cette complexité serait due à la participation interactive d'une myriade de forces déterministes et stochastiques dans la genèse du climat organisationnel.
