Download or read book Strong Limit Theorems in Noncommutative L2-Spaces written by Ryszard Jajte and published by Springer. This book was released on 2006-12-08 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The noncommutative versions of fundamental classical results on the almost sure convergence in L2-spaces are discussed: individual ergodic theorems, strong laws of large numbers, theorems on convergence of orthogonal series, of martingales of powers of contractions etc. The proofs introduce new techniques in von Neumann algebras. The reader is assumed to master the fundamentals of functional analysis and probability. The book is written mainly for mathematicians and physicists familiar with probability theory and interested in applications of operator algebras to quantum statistical mechanics.

Book Synopsis Limit Theorems For Associated Random Fields And Related Systems by : Alexander Bulinski
Download or read book Limit Theorems For Associated Random Fields And Related Systems written by Alexander Bulinski and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2007-09-05 with total page 447 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is devoted to the study of asymptotic properties of wide classes of stochastic systems arising in mathematical statistics, percolation theory, statistical physics and reliability theory. Attention is paid not only to positive and negative associations introduced in the pioneering papers by Harris, Lehmann, Esary, Proschan, Walkup, Fortuin, Kasteleyn and Ginibre, but also to new and more general dependence conditions. Naturally, this scope comprises families of independent real-valued random variables. A variety of important results and examples of Markov processes, random measures, stable distributions, Ising ferromagnets, interacting particle systems, stochastic differential equations, random graphs and other models are provided. For such random systems, it is worthwhile to establish principal limit theorems of the modern probability theory (central limit theorem for random fields, weak and strong invariance principles, functional law of the iterated logarithm etc.) and discuss their applications. There are 434 items in the bibliography. The book is self-contained, provides detailed proofs, for reader's convenience some auxiliary results are included in the Appendix (e.g. the classical Hoeffding lemma, basic electric current theory etc.).
Book Synopsis Noncommutative Probability by : I. Cuculescu
Download or read book Noncommutative Probability written by I. Cuculescu and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 367 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The intention of this book is to explain to a mathematician having no previous knowledge in this domain, what "noncommutative probability" is. So the first decision was not to concentrate on a special topic. For different people, the starting points of such a domain may be different. In what concerns this question, different variants are not discussed. One such variant comes from Quantum Physics. The motivations in this book are mainly mathematical; more precisely, they correspond to the desire of developing a probability theory in a new set-up and obtaining results analogous to the classical ones for the newly defined mathematical objects. Also different mathematical foundations of this domain were proposed. This book concentrates on one variant, which may be described as "von Neumann algebras". This is true also for the last chapter, if one looks at its ultimate aim. In the references there are some papers corresponding to other variants; we mention Gudder, S.P. &al (1978). Segal, I.E. (1965) also discusses "basic ideas".
Book Synopsis Stable Convergence and Stable Limit Theorems by : Erich Häusler
Download or read book Stable Convergence and Stable Limit Theorems written by Erich Häusler and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-06-09 with total page 231 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors present a concise but complete exposition of the mathematical theory of stable convergence and give various applications in different areas of probability theory and mathematical statistics to illustrate the usefulness of this concept. Stable convergence holds in many limit theorems of probability theory and statistics – such as the classical central limit theorem – which are usually formulated in terms of convergence in distribution. Originated by Alfred Rényi, the notion of stable convergence is stronger than the classical weak convergence of probability measures. A variety of methods is described which can be used to establish this stronger stable convergence in many limit theorems which were originally formulated only in terms of weak convergence. Naturally, these stronger limit theorems have new and stronger consequences which should not be missed by neglecting the notion of stable convergence. The presentation will be accessible to researchers and advanced students at the master's level with a solid knowledge of measure theoretic probability.

Book excerpt: The aim of this research is to develop a systematic scheme that makes it possible to transform important parts of the by now classical theory of summation of general orthonormal series into a similar theory for series in noncommutative $L_p$-spaces constructed over a noncommutative measure space (a von Neumann algebra of operators acting on a Hilbert space together with a faithful normal state on this algebra).
Book Synopsis Nonconventional Limit Theorems And Random Dynamics by : Yeor Hafouta
Download or read book Nonconventional Limit Theorems And Random Dynamics written by Yeor Hafouta and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2018-04-09 with total page 299 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book is devoted to limit theorems for nonconventional sums and arrays. Asymptotic behavior of such sums were first studied in ergodic theory but recently it turned out that main limit theorems of probability theory, such as central, local and Poisson limit theorems can also be obtained for such expressions. In order to obtain sufficiently general local limit theorem, we develop also thermodynamic formalism type results for random complex operators, which is one of the novelties of the book.

Book Synopsis Limit Theorems for Multi-Indexed Sums of Random Variables by : Oleg Klesov
Download or read book Limit Theorems for Multi-Indexed Sums of Random Variables written by Oleg Klesov and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-10-13 with total page 495 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Presenting the first unified treatment of limit theorems for multiple sums of independent random variables, this volume fills an important gap in the field. Several new results are introduced, even in the classical setting, as well as some new approaches that are simpler than those already established in the literature. In particular, new proofs of the strong law of large numbers and the Hajek-Renyi inequality are detailed. Applications of the described theory include Gibbs fields, spin glasses, polymer models, image analysis and random shapes. Limit theorems form the backbone of probability theory and statistical theory alike. The theory of multiple sums of random variables is a direct generalization of the classical study of limit theorems, whose importance and wide application in science is unquestionable. However, to date, the subject of multiple sums has only been treated in journals. The results described in this book will be of interest to advanced undergraduates, graduate students and researchers who work on limit theorems in probability theory, the statistical analysis of random fields, as well as in the field of random sets or stochastic geometry. The central topic is also important for statistical theory, developing statistical inferences for random fields, and also has applications to the sciences, including physics and chemistry.
