Book Synopsis Stakeholder Relationship Management by : Lynda Bourne
Download or read book Stakeholder Relationship Management written by Lynda Bourne and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2016-04-01 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In any activity an organisation undertakes, whether strategic, operational or tactical, the activity can only be successful with the input, commitment and support of its people - stakeholders. Gaining and maintaining the support and commitment of stakeholders requires a continuous process of engaging the right stakeholders at the right time and understanding and managing their expectations. Unfortunately, most organisations have difficulty implementing such culture change, and need assistance and guidance to implement a consistent process for identification and management of stakeholders and their changing expectations. As a continuous improvement process, stakeholder management requires understanding and support from everyone in the organisation from the CEO to the short-term contractor. This requires the concepts and practices of effective stakeholder management to become embedded in the culture of the organisation: 'how we do things around here', this book provides the 'road map' to help organisations achieve these objectives. The text has two specific purposes. Firstly, it is an 'how-to' book providing the fundamental processes and practices for improving stakeholder management in endeavours such as projects, and program management offices (PMO), it also gives guidance on organisational survival during mergers and acquisitions, preparing for the tender bidding, and marketing campaigns. Secondly, Lynda Bourne's book is for organisations that have recognised the importance of stakeholder engagement to their success, it is a guidebook for assessing their current maturity regarding implementation of stakeholder relationship management with a series of guidelines and milestones for achieving the preferred level of maturity.

Book Synopsis The Implementation of Free, Prior and Informed Consent and Indigenous Peoples’ Rights under the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises by : Fanny Pulver
Download or read book The Implementation of Free, Prior and Informed Consent and Indigenous Peoples’ Rights under the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises written by Fanny Pulver and published by buch & netz. This book was released on 2022-08-11 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Corporations have become powerful actors exerting increasing influence on society and the living conditions of individuals worldwide, including indigenous peoples. While it is recognized that corporations have a responsibility to respect indigenous peoples’ rights and the important safeguard concept of free, prior and informed consent (FPIC), it is rather unclear what such a corporate responsibility entails from a legal perspective. This doctoral thesis thoroughly analyses the regulatory framework pertaining to indigenous peoples and corporations as well as the ‘case law’ of the OECD National Contact Points (NCPs). Based on this analysis, the thesis identifies currently applied features of indigenous peoples’ rights and FPIC in relation to corporate actors, determines shortcomings in the regulatory framework and the ‘jurisprudence’ of the NCPs, and makes suggestions for possible improvements.

Book Synopsis A Practical Guide for Developing Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration Skills by : David Gosselin
Download or read book A Practical Guide for Developing Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration Skills written by David Gosselin and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-08-23 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Solutions to societal and organizational problems require people from diverse fields of expertise to effectively work in team-based, collaborative environments. To create these environments, we need to address a myth in modern culture that people have natural abilities to collaborate and work together. Collaboration and teamwork are skills. As such, these skills need to be learned and practiced. Commonly, collaboration is learned through trial and error. Team members have little or no training in how to effectively and efficiently harness the diversity of strengths among team members and maximize their contributions to the team. The purpose of this book is to provide a practical, process-oriented guide that, at its most fundamental level, is about building relationships and promoting communication and learning among diverse groups of individuals that results in creative, collaborative, and inclusive problem-solving environments. This volume provides explicit approaches and processes that will help team members more effectively and efficiently create new knowledge and solutions for societal and organizational problems through collective action.
