Book Synopsis Optimization and Stability Theory for Economic Analysis by : Brian Beavis
Download or read book Optimization and Stability Theory for Economic Analysis written by Brian Beavis and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 1990 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a coherent and systematic exposition of the mathematical theory of the problems of optimization and stability. Both of these are topics central to economic analysis since the latter is so much concerned with the optimizing behaviour of economic agents and the stability of the interaction processes to which this gives rise. The topics covered include convexity, mathematical programming, fixed point theorems, comparative static analysis and duality, the stability of dynamic systems, the calculus of variations and optimal control theory. The authors present a more detailed and wide-ranging discussion of these topics than is to be found in the few books which attempt a similar coverage. Although the text deals with fairly advanced material, the mathematical prerequisites are minimised by the inclusion of an integrated mathematical review designed to make the text self-contained and accessible to the reader with only an elementary knowledge of calculus and linear algebra. A novel feature of the book is that it provides the reader with an understanding and feel for the kinds of mathematical techniques most useful for dealing with particular economic problems. This is achieved through an extensive use of a broad range of economic examples (rather than the numerical/algebraic examples so often found). This is suitable for use in advanced undergraduate and postgraduate courses in economic analysis and should in addition prove a useful reference work for practising economists.
Book Synopsis A Treatise on Stability of Autonomous and Non-autonomous Systems by : Ratnadip Adhikari
Download or read book A Treatise on Stability of Autonomous and Non-autonomous Systems written by Ratnadip Adhikari and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By a stable dynamical system, we broadly mean the one whose overall behavior does not substantially change when its initial conditions or inputs undergo small disturbances. Stability is the fundamental requirement of any practically useful system. The behavior of an unstable system cannot be controlled and hence such a system is simply useless for practical purpose. The aim of this book is to present a concise study of the stability theories of autonomous (time-invariant) and non-autonomous (time-varying) systems. Various related notions and terminologies are meticulously explained. A major focus of the book is on the celebrated Liapunov's direct method which is so far the best mathematical technique for determining the stability nature of a dynamical system. The book introduces and lucidly discusses about the theory of stability of non-autonomous systems which is a complicated subject, having various pitfalls and peculiarities. All concepts in the book are accompanied with illustrative mathematical examples, selected from standard books and journals.
Book Synopsis Stability Theory of Dynamical Systems by : N.P. Bhatia
Download or read book Stability Theory of Dynamical Systems written by N.P. Bhatia and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2002-01-10 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Reprint of classic reference work. Over 400 books have been published in the series Classics in Mathematics, many remain standard references for their subject. All books in this series are reissued in a new, inexpensive softcover edition to make them easily accessible to younger generations of students and researchers. "... The book has many good points: clear organization, historical notes and references at the end of every chapter, and an excellent bibliography. The text is well-written, at a level appropriate for the intended audience, and it represents a very good introduction to the basic theory of dynamical systems."
Book Synopsis Neural Network Control Of Robot Manipulators And Non-Linear Systems by : F W Lewis
Download or read book Neural Network Control Of Robot Manipulators And Non-Linear Systems written by F W Lewis and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1998-11-30 with total page 470 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: There has been great interest in "universal controllers" that mimic the functions of human processes to learn about the systems they are controlling on-line so that performance improves automatically. Neural network controllers are derived for robot manipulators in a variety of applications including position control, force control, link flexibility stabilization and the management of high-frequency joint and motor dynamics. The first chapter provides a background on neural networks and the second on dynamical systems and control. Chapter three introduces the robot control problem and standard techniques such as torque, adaptive and robust control. Subsequent chapters give design techniques and Stability Proofs For NN Controllers For Robot Arms, Practical Robotic systems with high frequency vibratory modes, force control and a general class of non-linear systems. The last chapters are devoted to discrete- time NN controllers. Throughout the text, worked examples are provided.
