Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When we mistake spiritual disciplines for to-dos, time slots on our schedule, or Instagram-able moments, we miss the benefits of Christ's continual and constant work for us. In Ragged, Gretchen Ronnevik aims to reclaim spiritual disciplines as good gifts given by our good Father instead of heavy burdens of performance carried by the Christian. Only when we recognize our failures to maintain God's commands do we also realize the benefit of our dependence on his promises. Gretchen uses this distinction on law and gospel, presented throughout Scripture, to guide readers through spiritual disciplines including prayer, meditation, Scripture reading, and discipleship among others. Despite our best efforts, the good news is that spiritual disciplines have less to do with what we bring before God and more about who Christ is for us, not only as the author but also as the perfector of our faith.

Book excerpt: INTRODUCTION We have been focusing on and dealing with spiritual illnesses and issues that can sometimes hinder the progress of our walk with the Lord. These illnesses have been compared to the sicknesses that affect the natural body, which causes so many breakdowns, until the body is unable to perform at the maximum level. Now let us see the benefits of a spiritually fit you and what can really happen to an individual when the spirit man is up and running at the maximum level in all areas. What happens when my mind is 100 percent pure, my heart is free of clots and clutter, my mouth and tongue are in control, my eyes are at 20/20 visual acuity, and the rest of my spiritual health is where the Lord needs me to be operating? What things will I be able to perform and what changes will happen in the body of Christ when I am focusing, obeying, walking, speaking, and loving with a spiritually fit me? If I am spiritually fit and walking totally in the authority of the Holy Spirit with the anointing of the Lords approval in my life, a positive change has to happen to the body of Christ. You see, spiritual fitness is a must if the church is to move and shift toward being ready for the Great Return of the Lord. Are we, the church, spiritually fit and ready for that great day? We can be! Can I pull off the old me and put on the new me operating in the call and the charge that our Lord and Savior has given his life for my expected end? Can I actively rise up and walk in the new birth that has been freely given to me? Yes, I can

Now, in the twenty-first century, he explains how his searching and exploring of spirituality and religion has led him to a more candid belief system that is casual, flexible, and logicalas opposed to one that is conditioned, cultural, rigid, and traditional. In Response-Able to the Incomprehensible, he delves into his mission, which centers on the possibilities within being response-able to the incomprehensible metaphysical energy through spirituality and compassion. Through a series of short essays originally created as blog posts, he describes this belief system he deems more appropriate and responsive to todays times. While studying the core beliefs and traditions of Christianity, DeJean focuses on explaining and defining the statement of purpose: be spiritualdo compassion. Response-Able to the Incomprehensible discusses the search for spirituality in everyday life and appraises and tests existing traditions and compassion in that same sphere.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Law, as the first covenant that God gave to the Israelites, is the covenant of God that never be able to condemn. However, the deeds by the Law as the deeds of the flesh performed by the Law is to commit sin. Because through the mind of the flesh that the devil deceives, we are not able to serve God, who is spirit. Due to the sin of Adam and Eve that they followed the serpent as the devil instead of the will of God in the Eden Garden, their spirit and even their offspring’s spirit had died to God. In this way the human being have been born as sinners with the original sin, having a spirit that is dead to God. So that the human being have been living with their mind of the flesh and a spirit that is dead to God. Thus, human being have not been able to serve God, who is spirit. To save the Israelites who become such sinners, first off God gave them the Law as the first covenant, and made the Israelites live to keep the Law through their mind of the flesh, because they have a spirit that is dead to God. This period is the age of the Law and the age of the First Covenant, that the Israelites of the Old Testament era had been living. By the way to the Israelites who had been serving idols through their minds of the flesh in the world of the darkness, God gave the Law to them and made them keep the Law through the mind of the flesh. In this way God gave them the age of the Law as the training period and disciplining period that let them to get off their idols and to serve God through the Law. However, because the deeds by the Law is to commit sin, the Israelites was not able to serve God. Therefore, God gave the gospel as the new covenant that becomes the way to be saved spiritually to them in order to let them believe it and live the spiritual life. However, the Jews, who are the descendants of the Israelites, still adhere strictly to the Law of Moses to this day, claiming that they alone are the children saved of God, and rejecting the spiritual gospel. Nevertheless, God made the apostles preach the spiritual gospel, so that the people who was saved through this gospel built the early church to serve God spiritually. Moreover, God made the children saved of the early church live a spiritual life among the sinners in the world, performing by the spiritual deeds according to the spiritual gospel. By the way since the apostles, the forebears were not aware spiritually of the spiritual gospel that the apostles were aware of spiritually, thus, the forebears were not born again from their spirits that were dead to God. And they were living customarily according to their deeds by the Law through their mind of the flesh. Thus, they preached the spiritual gospel through the deeds of the flesh performed by the Law, instead of the spiritual gospel which the apostles had preached through their spirits born again, Therefore, even the churches today that claim to preach the spiritual gospel, known as the Reformed Churches, have not fulfilled the spiritual salvation. Because to serve God, they have believed and followed the spiritual gospel as the new covenant through their mind of the flesh, but not their spirit born again. In another words, if the Reformed Churches perform the gospel of the salvation through the deeds of the flesh, but not the spiritual deeds, God is not able to listen from them. Thus, they are not able to be saved from their original sin, so that they become to live as the sinners with the original sin. It means that because they are not aware spiritually concerning the faith by the mind of the flesh and the faith by the spirit born again, also concerning the mind of the flesh and the spiritual mind by the spirit born again, they are living with the deeds by the Law through the mind of the flesh deceiving by the devil, but not the spirit born again. These spiritual matters of God can only be aware through the evidence of spiritual faith, as mentioned in Hebrews 11, rather than through judgment based on the mind of the flesh and the sight of the flesh. When we are aware spiritually of these spiritual matters through faith given by God, we become to be born again as the righteous from the spirit that had died to God due to Adam’s sin. And we become to receive the Counselor as the Spirit promised into our temple of the hearts as our spirit born again, then we become to fulfill our salvation. Therefore, we who have been saved become to live the spiritual life and worship God, according to the leading by the Jesus being with each of our Counselors. In this way we as the children saved of God become to live the spiritual life in the world of the darkness until the Second Coming of Jesus. And after the Judgment, we will lift up into the Kingdom of God for our eternal life with the disembodied spirit due to the death with the flesh by the Judgment. Concerning such spiritual process of the salvation mentioned above, when you are aware spiritually of the spiritual words of God as follows, that I, as the author of this book interpreted the spiritual gospel given by the new covenant, you will be performing the way to be saved spiritually. This book 「the way to be saved spiritually」 is the book to introduce 「those books with spiritual interpretation」 as follows that I wrote for the gospel of the New Testament that God gave as the new covenant. And 「those books with spiritual interpretation」 are currently being sold under names such as 「Matthew Interpretation Book」, 「John Interpretation Book」, 「Acts Interpretation Book」, 「Romans Interpretation Book」, 「1 2 Corinthians Interpretation Book」, 「1 2 Thessalonians Interpretation Book」, 「Hebrews Interpretation Book」, 「1 2 Peter Interpretation Book」, 「1, 2, 3 John Interpretation Book」, and others, at Upaper in Korea and each of ebook stores affiliated with Upaper, also Google ebook stores and Amazon kindle stores. And this book, 「the way to be saved spiritually」 is the book that summarized all 「those books with spiritual interpretation」 that I have written with the spiritual interpretation of the New Covenant books in the Bible. The spiritual gospel summarized in this book will serve as the Master key in order to open the gates of the Kingdom of God. This Master key will be leading you to 「the way to be saved spiritually」.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: piritual Maturity: The Whole Elephant provides a look at spiritual maturity for both spiritual seekers and the spiritually/ religiously committed. It provides a glimpse of the whole elephant, to use a term based on the Hindu metaphor of the blind men and the elephant. It contains widely diverse answers to ten defining questions about spiritual maturity. These questions include: the characteristics of spiritual maturity, the relationship to psychological and moral maturity and to social action and the culture, stages to and which organizations support attainment, alone or in community, how to support others on the path, and where you are. The answers are given by thirty spiritual leaders--not leaders of the national or academic variety, but leaders of the shoe leather variety: clergymen--Catholic, Protestant, Jewish and New Age; university professors and a psychotherapist; monks and sisters; a Native American; followers of Islam, Hindu, and Buddhist practices; members of 12-Step programs and a human development trainer; an African-American Sufi and black Baptist deacon. It is spiritual maturity made accessible to everyone. It closes with the reflections of a university professor after viewing the Holocaust Museum, providing a glimpse of the possible cost of holding on, so rigidly, to our specific understanding of who God is and his possible plan for us. Imagine a dialogue among people who hold very different points of view. The group consists of a Bible church pastor, a law school professor, a member of Alcoholics Anonymous, the abbot of a Zen monastery, a Roman Catholic sister who is an instructor in Spiritual Direction, a Baptist worship leader, and a Methodist pastor. Imagine two of them as reluctant participants: one, the member of Alcoholics Anonymous, because he is not exactly a fan of organized religion; the second is the Bible pastor, who appeared suspicious of mingling with other leaders of non-Bible based religions. The dialogue follows: Always the teacher, the law professor begins by giving his definition of spiritual maturity: Coming of age in the spirit. While everyone nods wisely in agreement, they then realize that they all have differing definitions of spirit and even of coming of age. The Methodist pastor picks up the thread. The person would have an awareness of the divine in life. They would have a sense in which they would understand that which we call God and feel some connectedness and relatedness to that God. Looking around for agreement, he continues, They would be able to utilize the rites and rituals of their faith in an effective manner with as little sense of magic or mere wish fulfillment as possible. They would be able to give witness to that in a variety of ways, whatever is appropriate that comes with their setting. He points out, aware of the diversity of the setting, that what he was saying could be taken in the broadest possible sense. This application would apply to a Buddhist, or a Muslim, as well as a Christian. Afraid that the conversation might digress, the Baptist worship leader enters the conversation to qualify: Its not something we can produce. Its Christ-likeness produced inside us through friendship with the triune God. He explains that what spiritual maturity means to the Christian is Holy-Spirit maturity. He elaborates: he means Holy-Spirit-produced maturity... Nodding in agreement, the Buddhist abbot says, I think there is a certain spiritual maturity that comes with people who are really into any spiritual practice--deep into whatever spiritual practice. They seem to be open to all others--seem to have respect for one another. That would be wonderful if we all had that openness to one anothers spiritualities. I encountered my own prejudice: All human beings have particular biases--beliefs that we hold to be true, whether we are aware of them or not. One question I asked, rather awkwardly, of

Many of us believe that in order to please God, we have to be perfect. It’s an easy lie to buy into. In a culture that emphasizes accomplishment and ever-higher goals, we feel driven to do more, achieve more, be more. And we get caught up in the unforgiving treadmill of self-imposed rules, believing that we should, we need to, we must. The result? Anger, frustration, and anxiety that keep us far away from the life of peace that Jesus promised. For years, Sandra McCollom lived in this trap. Finally worn out from striving for perfection but constantly feeling like a failure, one day she prayed in desperation, begging God for help. God answered Sandra by setting her on a life-changing journey to discover the riches of His grace. In I Tried Until I Almost Died, Sandra shares how she left behind her burden of anxiety and fear and shows you how to experience for yourself the freedom of trusting solely in the perfecting power of God’s grace.
