Book Synopsis Spiritual Inspiration and Comfort by : George L. Lashley
Download or read book Spiritual Inspiration and Comfort written by George L. Lashley and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2010-06 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I hope and pray that these poems will inspire, encourage, motivate, comfort and draw you closer to our Lord and Savior "Jesus Christ". Who has been, and continues to be my constant source of strength, spiritual inspiration and comfort everyday! I began writing this book in 2003, I had just surrendered my life to God, after undergoing back surgery in 12/2002 that was a pivotal point in my life. Before my surgery I had promised God that if he brought me through the surgery successfully I would come back to church. After my baptism in the spring of 2003, I began writing out of gratitude and thankfulness for what God had done in my life. A good portion of this book was inspired by the experiences that I've had, as God protected, led and inspired me every step of the way back to the foot of the cross. George L. Lashley, was born in Pembroke, Bermuda. His ability to write was discovered when he was asked to write an essay for a 3rd grade class home work assignment. When the essay was ready by the teacher, she immediately took it to the Principal who insisted that he read it in front of the entire school assembly. That experience was somewhat embarrassing to him not being used to so much attention. He continued to write but in a more subdued and secretive fashion. It was only after he began writing poetry of a spiritually uplifting nature, and began reading them during church services and other suitable occasion, did he, through the encouragement of others decide to attempt to publish any of his work.

Book excerpt: Life Is Never Mainly About Love and Marriage. So Learn to Live and Date for More. Many of you grew up assuming that marriage would meet all of your needs and unlock God's purposes for you. But God has far more planned for you than your future marriage. Not Yet Married is not about waiting quietly in the corner of the world for God to bring you "the one," but about inspiring you to live and date for more now. If you follow Jesus, the search for a spouse is no longer a pursuit of the perfect person, but a pursuit of more of God. He will likely write a love story for you different than the one you would write for yourself, but that's because he loves you and knows how to write a better story. This book was written to help you find real hope, happiness, and purpose in your not-yet-married life.

Book excerpt: ECPA Christian Book Award Finalist Your Battle against Porn Isn't about Porn. It's about Hope. Pornography may seem inescapable, but God can free us from its destructive power. The gospel replaces the dehumanizing lies of pornography with this surprising truth: God created us as royalty. How then can we reclaim our God-given identity to take a stand against—and ultimately starve—the predatory porn industry? In The Death of Porn, Ray Ortlund writes six personal letters, as from a father to his son. Ideal for individuals and small groups, it will give hope to men who have been misled by porn into devaluing themselves and others. Through Scripture and personal stories, Ortlund assures readers that God loves them the most tenderly in their moments of deepest shame. The Death of Porn inspires men to come together in new ways to fight the injustice of porn and build a world of nobility for every man and woman—for the sake of future generations.

It can happen because of sin, satanic assault, distressing circumstances, or hereditary and other physical causes. In When the Darkness Will Not Lift, John Piper aims to give some comfort and guidance to those experiencing spiritual darkness. To show others that everyday is not sunshine but that God delivers us through it all. One thing I realized in my belief that God answers all prayers. Sometimes it's YES what we all want to hear. Sometimes it's NO to protect us from forces we can't see. Sometimes it's WAIT you can't handle it right now. My poems are intended to uplift, elevate and console the mind. To remind those reading them there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Trouble comes to make us stronger. We were never promised there wouldn't be trials and tribulations. But, we were promised that we are not alone or forsaken. Our heavenly father always has a ram in the bush. In these contents there is something encouraging and inspiring for everyone. Even those whose lives have been sweeter (easier) than others. Prayerfully you will uplift someone else. Within are my truths, some of my life experiences. Along with the assurance that life is an awesome gift. No matter what one might face. There have been good people and good times in my life. There have been some not so good people and times. We can one day look back on the good and tough times smile and be thankful for the experiences that helped us realize our purpose in life. I inspire you yo stay positive to pray your way through. Laugh when you feel like crying. To put your trust and faith in God not in man. Know that God has all power in his hands. "I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future". Jeremiah 29:11 So relax, enjoy and allow your soul to be soothed. Life is worth the living.

Download or read book Soul Work written by Dr Donald Vessey and published by Plowshare Media. This book was released on 2015-03-22 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "In the word "question" there is a beautiful word -"quest." We are all partners in a quest." -Elie Wiesel A life of any real depth involves an ongoing questioning: Why am I here? Who am I? What is the meaning of life? What is there beyond thought and beyond this life? Ultimately though, the operative questions are: How am I to live? What am I to do with this life? How can I live a life of quality, with inherent meaning and value? To answer these questions involves a spiritual journey that requires a liberation of the soul from a lifetime of conditioning, i.e., " Soul Work." As an aid to this process of recovering a life of the spirit and our true sense of Being, Dr. Donald Vessey offers a collection of 570 quotes of sound guidance and encouragement that speak to people at all stages of the spiritual journey. Taken from a variety of disciplines, these quotes have been winnowed from over 40 years of spiritual reading and practice. His collection offers practical words of advice that are intended to help in the development, and occasional refocusing, of one's spiritual practice. There are words of encouragement to provide motivation, when necessary, to stay the journey; not only reminding us of the importance of our spiritual work for ourselves, but for our society and planet as a whole. There is a particular emphasis on contemporary viewpoints reflecting our evolving understanding of the world around us and of our own psyches. This book will provide the reader with a fuller comprehension of our spiritual nature; and with 250 references it also provides a guide to the relevant literature.
Book Synopsis The Way of Spiritual Encouragement by : Zacharias Tanee Fomum
Download or read book The Way of Spiritual Encouragement written by Zacharias Tanee Fomum and published by ZTF Books Online. This book was released on 2016-07-25 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book carries a message of love and restoration. It's an exaltation of grace and of the greatness of God whose plans for believers and even backsliders are marvelous. This book also talks about God's gracious provision for the fullness of the Holy Spirit. As you read through this book, you will understand that the sadness and frustration experienced by some believers today are due to their inability to know or understand what God is doing or can do. Many believers have their eyes fixed on their own achievements. It's what the author calls "human-centered theology." It looks at what they can do in their own strength, and not in the strength of the Lord. The message in this book can produce in you what it produced in the author, Z.T. Fomum. He sums it up with: "My own faith in Him grew while I was writing. I was deeply comforted to know that God is so good, so loving and so gracious. My desire is to love Him more and more.’’ The message in this book is one of hope and restoration. Get into the way of spiritual encouragement by reading it.
