Sozialraumorientierung ist zum Motto, zur Mode geworden und prägt zahlreiche Publikationen. Hinter diesem Wort verbirg sich jedoch ein Paradigmenwechsel in der Sozialen Arbeit, dessen fachliche Blickrichtung für zahlreiche Felder der Sozialen Arbeit – besonders für die Jugendhilfe Relevanz hat. Die Parole „vom Fall zum Feld“ (Hinte 1999) beschreibt kurz und prägnant die Grundorientierung der Sozialraumorientierung. Das dieses Konzept schon seit Jahrzehnten Anwendung – vornehmlich in der Gemeinwesenarbeit fand – und auf eine breite theoretische Diskussion zurückschauen kann, wird in der Euphorie mancher Autoren schnell vergessen. Schon in den 70er und 80er Jahren war die Sozialraumorientierung zentrale inhaltliche Grundlage für die Neuausrichtung des ASD und – wie schon erwähnt – lassen sich viele Prinzipien der Sozialraumorientierung in der Gemeinwesenarbeit und der stadtteilbezogenen Sozialen Arbeit aus den 60er und frühen 70er Jahren finden. (vgl. Hinte 2002, S.91-102) Die vorliegende Arbeit möchte die sozialraumorientierte Kinder- und Jugendarbeit als eine Methode der Gemeinwesenarbeit mit Kindern und Jugendlichen verdeutlichen und aufzeigen. Eine detailliert, umfassende Darlegung der Entwicklungen und Strömungen der bis heute gewachsenen Sozialraumorientierung würden den Rahmen dieser Arbeit sprengen. Daher wurden Aspekte ausgewählt, die in der heutigen Rezeption vielfältig verwendet werden. Den Abschluss macht ein juristischer Exkurs über die rechtliche Bewertung der Sozialraumorientierung im Bezug auf das Kinder- und Jugendhilferecht des SGB/KJHG.

Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es zu untersuchen, inwieweit die Offenen Kinder- und- Jugendeinrichtungen geeignet sind den sozialräumlichen Ansatz zu verfolgen, welche Voraussetzungen erfüllt sein und welche Maßnahmen dafür ergriffen werden sollten. Zuerst wird die Entwicklung und Bedeutung des Begriffes „Sozialraumorientierung“ für die Offene Kinder- und Jugendarbeit erläutert. Um sozialräumlich arbeiten zu können, ist es wichtig zu verstehen, wie Kinder und Jugendliche sich in einem Sozialraum „bewegen“. Erklärung dazu liefern die sogenannten Aneignungskonzepte, die im dritten Kapitel vorgestellt und auf deren Aktualität hin überprüft werden. Da bei diesem Ansatz planerische Betrachtungsweisen eine zentrale Rolle einnehmen, wird im vierten Abschnitt als Kern der Arbeit die sozialräumliche Konzeptentwicklung beschrieben, die dafür notwendige qualitative Lebensweltanalyse dargestellt und mögliche Anwendungsprobleme erörtert. Renowned philosophers, sociologists, psychologists, economists and educational scientists explore the conceptual and practical implications of this approach for delivering socially just policies. The volume analyses the potentials and pitfalls of the Capabilities Approach (CA) which was initially developed by the Indian economist Amartya Sen and the American philosopher Martha Nussbaum. CA is considered as a philosophical approach to social justice, a scientific approach to research welfare production and eventually as a potentially new practically adoptable fundament for educational and social service delivery.
