Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: SONGS OF INSPIRATION AND HOPE: The Words Edition Written by: Henry Elijah Clarke Compiled by: Claudette D. Bacchas This book has been a dream of my father from 1999, when he made Jesus Christ his personal Lord and Savior. The content of this book is based on songs and poems that he was inspired to write as he sought the Lord on a daily basis. The book is divided into three (3) sections which give glimpses of Henry Elijah Clarke under different headings: —Part 1 – Henry the Writer and Singer —Part 2 – Henry the Farmer —Part 3 – Henry the Poet The first song in Part 1, “Christ’s Solid Love”, was written in commemorationof the opening of a new Church in Mineral Heights, May Pen, Clarendon. This was the beginning of what became his writing and singing career. Songs such as “Bound for the City with Cloudless Skies,” “My Empty World”, “Lord Go before Us”, “O What Pleasure Divine” all expressed my father’s deep desire to be with his Lord in Heaven. The song “My Savior’s Voice”, gives us the assurance that we have a Savior in Heaven who paid the price for our sins. He did this when He sealed the deal on Calvary by His death on the Old Rugged Cross. My Dad was a farmer by profession. He had what we call in Jamaica a “green thumb.” Everything he planted, germinated and grew. He knew how to make the best use of every little space in his yard. The songs in Part 2, were written to commemorate my father’s achievements as he received trophies and prizes for the best backyard garden in his community on a number of occasions. In Part 3, his debut poem was, “Roadblock with the Roaring Lion” and is based on I Peter 5:8. He was very much aware that this roadblock with the devil was one every Christian must experience in their daily walk with the Lord. He ended this discourse with the roaring lion on a note of triumph when he wrote: “A DELIVERANCE TIME NOW, DEFEATED LION, MI NO TELL YU LONG TIME SAY IT A COME FROM ZION?” It is the writer’s intention that these songs and poems will bring inspiration and hope to all.

Book excerpt: The saving message of the Gospel is the heartbeat of this preacher and evangelist. Millions around the world heard Billy Graham proclaim this unchanging truth. He never forgot the transformation of his own life, when he first said yes to God’s gift of salvation, and he witnessed multitudes turn their hearts to the God of Hope. What is the most hopeful word in History? For Billy Graham, that word is SALVATION. Billy Graham proclaimed God's Gospel with resolve and deep compassion. It is a message he preached for more than seventy years. And in this book you will sense its urgency, filled with hope for the future. Salvation is what we all long for, when we are lost or in danger or have made a mess of our lives. And salvation belongs to us, when we reach out for the only One who can rescue us—Jesus. The Reason for My Hope: Salvation presents the essence of that transformative message. It is biblical and timeless, and though simple and direct, it is far from easy. There are hard words, prophetic words, directed toward a culture that denies the reality of sin and distracts us from the veracity of Hell. But through its ominous warnings shines a light that cannot be extinguished—a beacon of hope that Jesus came “to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10).

Book excerpt: Hope is essential; it keeps us going when the chips are down and helps us to never give up. "A Song of Hope" is full of poetry that is inspirational, encouraging, and real. Life is full of hardship that can weigh heavy on the heart; this book acknowledges hard times but woven throughout is the theme of beauty from the ashes of our lives and praising in the storm. The titles include The Power of Praise, Bloom, Fear Not, Even in the Storm, to name a few. This spiritual book full of psalms by Facebook Poet Rhonda Shelford Jansen will lift your heart and inspire you to new levels of hope. Here is an example of one of Rhonda's poems: Our God, the Great I AM A wind so warm and balmy blew my cares away; The sunlight shining on my face filled me with hope today. The rhythm of the rolling waves was music to my soul And made me stop and marvel...that God is in control. I sat and watched the sunlight sparkle on the dancing leaves; I watched the wind invite the trees to sway with grace and ease. I saw majestic mountains, standing strong and sure And knew our God is great indeed, and we can feel secure. I walked along a field of snow that sparkled like fine jewels; The moonlight on a silent bay brought reverence to my soul. Surrounded by earth's fragrance while Walking through the woods, Reminded me that God loves us and created all for good. The thunder roared, the lightning flashed in a display of might; The rain it washed a dirty land and brought forth brand-new life. The clouds in all their glory swept soft across the sky, And sunrise bright with pink and orange Cut through the darkest night. Our God is great and mighty, creator of all things, And one day soon all Earth will sing its praises to our King. For every knee will bow down on Earth and in the heavens, Singing praises to the King as He breaks all oppression. Our world may shake and tremble and darkness may abound, But know that our Creator is still upon His throne. He does not sleep or slumber; He does not turn away. This mighty, awesome Savior is with us in the fray. So do not fear the darkest night or trouble in the land; Our God is still the great I Am and holds us in His hands.

The companion book published in 2001 perfectly captured the message of the song and, with 1.7 million copies sold, became one of the best selling books of this decade. So much so that the book now stands alone and the message of the book transcends the original market of people who loved the song. This new edition has a fresh new cover and a lower price and does not include the companion CD.
