Book excerpt: Sojourns of the Soul differs from other inspirational travel books by providing a rare mix of in-depth wisdom and literary insights from the holistic view of one experienced female traveler. Dana Micucci gives a compelling account of her growing spiritual illumination through visits to some of the most sacred places on earth. Her lively, engaging narrative takes us to seven sites in all: the Australian outback, Angkor in Cambodia, the Valley of the Kings in Egypt, Lhasa in Tibet, Chichen Itza in the Yucatan; the Monastery of Christ in the Desert in New Mexico, and Machu Picchu in Peru. Micucci links each visit with the awakening of a particular chakra- the chakras being the seven energy centers of the body associated in Hinduism with progressive enlightenment. In the afterword, she reflects on how her experiences continue to shape her life after resuming her career as a journalist in New York City: she finds she is more tolerant, can engage in daily activities with more heart-centered awareness, and can sustain states of joy and gratitude for longer periods of time. The book will be a page turner for readers who yearn for long-delayed adventure, with the added benefit that it is not just a journey log but more of a seeker’s manual; travel is simply the vehicle. Readers will find that they don’t have to travel to far-flung places for the spiritual inspiration available in their everyday lives. As Micucci says, “Each day brings new remembrances of our divinity, of the Divine presence in all beings, and of our eternal connection to each other. I am so grateful to be here NOW . . . with you.

One who, like yourself wanders through this unpredictable mortality, seeking definition, self-identity, belonging, love, and purpose. “Sojourns...” even as the human experience, covers a vast array of emotions from lightheartedness to self-doubt, from shame to love, pride, fear, grief, and wonder. What are we without our emotions and experiences? “Sojourns...” invites the readers to ask the deeper questions of themselves; to find the measure of their humanity and the purpose of their existence. While it is not Frost, Goethe, or Shakespeare, “Sojourns...” is an intensely intimate look at what it is that makes us who we are. I have also included the works of my daughters as they seem to express the same sentiments only with much more clarity. If one heart is touched, one tear is shed, I am justified in my efforts.

Book excerpt: The majority of horoscopes in current use are terribly wrong. Why? Because spiritual birth times, which are essential to producing an accurate horoscope according to Edgar Cayce, occur up to four-and-a-half hours before physical birth. That difference leaves aspects between planets about the same, but shifts all house cusps backward by up to one or two signs. Compared with most of today's faulty horoscopes, these "perfect horoscopes" match personas with awesome precision and provide greatly enhanced forecasting capabilities. This revolutionary book on astrology shows you how to (1) arrive at spiritual birth times, (2) apply two other fundamentals of astrology currently omitted from most horoscopes, and (3) verify your now totally functional horoscope. Topics covered in this book include: Who in recorded history may have been responsible for the mistakes of astrology, and its subsequent fall from grace o How to calculate accurate, soul-chosen horoscopes; What steps can be taken to verify a soul chosen horoscope; Why progressions-not transits-mark the stepping-stones of life; When horoscopes can be used to confirm fundamentals and reject damaging false ideas (such as the "first breath" theory); Which concepts will change as we move from the Piscean Age of tolerant opinions to the Aquarian Age of benevolent intelligence.

Van Aukens easy writing style helps to shed light on the most complicated concepts in Kabbalah, making it easier to grasp the five divisions of our being, the four planes of existence, the seven heavens, the ten emanations, and the twenty-two channels of the Infinite Creative Consciousness. We also learn how to expand our minds to perceive these realms, to journey through them, and, to remain sane, healthy, and active in our present life. Van Auken brings in insights from Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, and even ancient Egyptian theology, and includes Gnosticism and Neo-Platonism in this multi-dimensional vista. A reading journey into Edgar Cayce and the Kabbalah offers you a personal road map to higher consciousness and a happier, more fulfilling life!

Book excerpt: Over the span of fi fty fi ve years, beginning at age eight, I have investigated many religions. I have read Islams Quran cover-tocover, as well as the Catholic apocrypha, in which the book of Susanna touches my heart dearly. I have read the Book of Mormon coverto- cover and it, too, touched my heart. I have been lured by the grace of Hindus and Buddhists to ponder their beliefs. Yet, I do not consider these to be a part of the preserved Word of God. Only the Biblical teachings of Jesus Christ explain to me where my spirit came from. It tells me what I did to fall from Gods grace, why I am on this planet, and why I need pardon greater than I can obtain myself. Jesus Christ has provided the Way and no other book explains it as does the Holy Bible. Th e Bible gives me healthy hope to carry on with gusto. As of the year 2010, I have read the King James Holy Bible cover-to-cover more than twenty fi ve times. Th is ongoing reading, of the preserved Word of God, is the only credential I claim and stand fi rmly upon. Biblical faith is not blind, but anchored securely in observable science. I am a nuts-and-bolts, up to my elbows in grease, kind of gear head. I want to know what makes it tick! Th e Authorized Holy Bible is the repair manual for life, for dummies! It explains the mysteries of Gods kingdom in detail to those who read it all very carefully. I have not arrived. My sojourn in this far country called earth is still in motion. However, we are at the threshold of major global events, as never before seen by man. Th ese events are all foretold in Gods preserved written Word. Hence, my reading of Th e Holy Bible is my only credential, and I have a passion for sharing what I have found! May you be blessed eternally as you journey with me the corridors of life that are not limited by time and space. May the Lord add His blessing to the reading of His entire Word. Amen. Rog

Book excerpt: This carefully crafted ebook: "The Secret Doctrines of the Rosicrucians (Unabridged)" is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents. Rosicrucianism is a philosophical secret society said to have been founded in late medieval Germany by Christian Rosenkreuz. It holds a doctrine or theology "built on esoteric truths of the ancient past", which, "concealed from the average man, provide insight into nature, the physical universe and the spiritual realm." Rosicrucianism is symbolized by the Rose Cross. Many esoteric societies have claimed to derive their doctrines, in whole or in part, from the original Rosicrucians (including Freemasonry). Several modern societies have been formed of the study of Rosicrucianism and allied subjects. William Walker Atkinson (1862-1932) was a prolific writer. His works treat themes related to the mental world, occultism, divination, psychic reality, and mankind's nature. They constitute a basis for what Atkinson called "New Psychology" or "New Thought".

Book excerpt: The student of the history of occultism and the esoteric teachings, and even the average reader of current books and magazines, finds many references to "The Rosicrucians," a supposed ancient secret society devoted to the study of occult doctrines and the manifestation of occult powers. But when such person seeks to obtain detailed information concerning this supposed ancient "order" he finds himself baffled and defeated. Before acknowledging the futility of the quest, however, he usually investigates one or more so-called "orders" having as a part of their title the word "Rosicrucian," only to find himself invited to join such "order" upon the payment of a fee or fees ranging from a small amount in some cases to quite large amounts in others, each "order" claiming to be the "only original order," and asserting that all the others are base imitators. This book will give you all the insights on this secret order.
