Book Synopsis Understanding Soccer Hooliganism by : Kerr, John
Download or read book Understanding Soccer Hooliganism written by Kerr, John and published by McGraw-Hill Education (UK). This book was released on 1994-10-01 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: English soccer hooliganism continues to be a serious problem both at home and abroad. Claims about the success of recent preventative measures taken by the English soccer and police authorities are premature. There are strong indications that soccer hooligans are still active and that they are adapting and changing their strategies and relocating their violent activities. Over recent years, much has been written about soccer hooliganism. In this book, 'Reversal Theory', an insightful and coherent new eclectic approach in psychology, is used to address soccer hooliganism in an innovative way. Few previous accounts can provide the sophisticated understanding of the motivation behind soccer hooligan violence that 'Reversal Theory' achieves. Equipped with a real understanding of the psychology behind violent soccer hooligan activities, those charged with dealing with the problem may adopt more effective counter measures. This book must be of interest to all those who are involved in dealing with or studying soccer hooliganism and other, similar forms of deviant behaviour, such as delinquency and vandalism.

Book Synopsis It's All in the Name by : Sharita Star
Download or read book It's All in the Name written by Sharita Star and published by SteinerBooks. This book was released on 2010-12 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It's All in the Name explains the concept of Lexigrams and the uncanny magic they can unfold for self-knowledge. The author begins by introducing simple words and taking the reader on a journey that shows how much we can find the truth we are searching for is contained within the words we use every day. After offering a few rules to guide the Lexigram process (and suggesting times to break those rules), she explains the interconnections among Lexigrams, astrology, and numerology. Sharita Star goes on to show how many of the Lexigrams that can be derived from names and titles relate to the very astrological and numerical guidance that governs them, providing historical evidence to show how this dynamic works. To do so, she offers references to zodiacal Sun signs and the Chaldean understanding of numerology. Moreover, Sharita provides numerous case studies of well-know individuals, past and present. It's All in the Name is a valuable tool for exploring the profound inner meanings of names and everyday words and for deepening one's intuitive capacity.
