Download or read book So Send I You written by Floyd C McElveen and published by Big Mac Publishers. This book was released on 2011-01-13 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a complete handbook for soul winning. It will motivate you to share the wonderful gospel of Jesus. The author gives examples and illustrations, as well as provides a step by step method to easily present Christ to others. Previously published as "Unashamed," but the title did not convey the full purpose of the book so it has been very lightly revised and re-published under a new name. Author McElveen lives what he writes about and preaches and his ideas work. He has won thousands of souls to the Lord. He gives you deep insight into his methods and passion for Christ. If you want to be a consistent soul winner as Christ asks all of us to be, and in all kinds of situations, this book is a must read. It is also a great handbook for soul winning classes.
Download or read book So Send I You written by Rod Culbertson and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2019-04-09 with total page 95 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Old Testament narrative of the Bible recounts the grand story of God calling a people to be his own. God chooses, saves, and spares that nation as he builds a channel of redemption in order to spread his glory over all the earth. Ultimately, God sends his son, Jesus Christ, to die for the sins of the world. What appears to be a defeat in the death of God’s Son becomes a victory, as Christ conquers death in his resurrection. Will God’s glory fill the earth? So Send I You: God’s Progress of Redemption: Part Two answers this question. As we follow the dramatic growth of the New Testament church, as recorded in the book of Acts, we will come to understand that God is surely at work in his world. His followers spread the good news of Christ’s work on the cross and his powerful resurrection, beginning from Jerusalem, cascading to the surrounding areas, and ultimately to the “ends of the earth.” As you read So Send I You: God’s Progress of Redemption, you just might discover that you too are part of God’s marvelous plan to spread his glory over all of the earth.

Book excerpt: When we speak of a call we nearly always leave out one essential feature, viz.: the nature of the one who calls. We speak of the call of the sea, the call of the mountains, the call of the great ice barriers. These calls are heard by a few only because the call is the expression of the nature from which the call comes, and can only be heard by those who are attuned to that nature. The call of God is essentially expressive of the nature of God, it is His own voice. Paul says that "God commendeth His own love toward us" (rv). the love that is exactly expressive of His nature. Get that thought with regard to the call of God. Very few of us hear the call of God because we are not in the place to answer; the call does not communicate because we have not the nature of the One Who is calling. In the case of Isaiah, his soul was so attuned because of the tremendous crisis he had passed through, that the call of God was recorded to his amazed soul. God did not lay a strong compulsion on Isaiah; Isaiah was in the presence of God and he overheard, as it were, the soliloquy of God: "Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" and in conscious freedom he replied, "Here am I; send me." There is a good deal of instruction to be got by watching the faces of people in certain surroundings--by the sea shore, in an art gallery, during music; you can tell at once if they are listening to the call of the thing or simply reflecting themselves. Most of us have no ear for anything but ourselves, anything that is not "me" we cannot hear. We are dead to, and without interest in the finest music, we can yawn in a picture gallery, and be uninspired by a sunrise or a sunset. That is true not only of the soul's denseness to natural beauties, or to music and art and literature, but true with regard to the awakening of the soul to the call of God. To be brought within the zone of God's voice is to be profoundly altered.

Book Synopsis Holy Is a Four-Letter Word by : Charles C. Lake
Download or read book Holy Is a Four-Letter Word written by Charles C. Lake and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2016-02-17 with total page 127 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Holy Is a Four-Letter Word responds to the need for an accessible and simple articulation of the holy life, and what it means for the collective church as well as for individual believers. This goal is accomplished by taking the fundamental tenets of holiness doctrine and shaping them around twelve four-letter words: (1) Holy, (2) Self, (3) Full, (4) Pure, (5) Will, (6) Mind, (7) Body, (8) Love, (9) Rest, (10) Life, (11) Sent, and (12) Call. Each chapter deals with holy living according to scripture as it pertains to each four-letter word. Setting the concept of holiness against the backdrop of modern (and often profane) media culture accomplishes two objectives: (1) it reveals the relevance and urgency of holy living amongst a super-charged, secular media culture, and (2) defining holy living, first and foremost, by what it is not thereby accentuating "holy" as being set a part for the purposes of God.

Book excerpt: Jesus is alive! So why do we follow him like he's not? Sometime during the centuries between Jesus' time on earth and ours, we started to believe that living vicariously through the ancient disciples was the closest we could ever get to being discipled by Jesus. But Jesus promised to never leave us or forsake us. He is alive, and because of his great love for each of us, Jesus is ready, willing, and able to do for us what he did for the twelve. Robert Gelinas dives into the Bible to show us the Jesus of the gospels, and the Jesus who is alive and yearning to disciple each one of us today. Isn't it time we allowed ourselves to be discipled by Jesus?

Book Synopsis Autopsy of a Dead Church by : Lou Mancari
Download or read book Autopsy of a Dead Church written by Lou Mancari and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2006-03 with total page 186 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Autopsy means to "look for yourself within" or "to see with your own eyes." We will open the spiritual body with the scalpel of God's two-edged sword, the Word of God. As we begin the autopsy of the dead church we immediately find that DNA evidence links every person in the church with an infamous and ancient crime scene--the Garden of Eden. As we continue the autopsy of this dead church we find the fingerprints of a noted murderer and thief all over the body. Like all of us, Satan has certain traits that identify his prints. The dead church has had major brain damage. In some cases there is an enchanting or forceful preacher that has performed a spiritual lobotomy hindering any deep or independent biblical thinking of the people of the church.
