Book Synopsis The Lord God of Ten Dispensations in Divisions of Five and Seven by : Eli Simpson
Download or read book The Lord God of Ten Dispensations in Divisions of Five and Seven written by Eli Simpson and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2013-03 with total page 700 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This servant-writer, at approximately two-and- a- half -years of age, after having heard a very dark-complexioned preacher say that God could wash him white as snow and that he was not afraid to die, moved from the pew to the aisle to see "The Book". I desired to know the "all" of "The Book". I immediately asked the God of all things who was outside of "The Book", the church, and beyond the sky, looking from eternity, to let me know "The Book". I remember from that moment until today that the "white as snow" scripture is Isaiah 1:18. The Biblical disclosure that "sins be as white as snow" produced an incited desire for the precise wording of the scriptures with the true meaning. Yet, for all my lifetime, I have believed that the King James Version of 1611, and the new English spelling which appears in the late 1792 published edition, authorized by the United States Congress, needs no human intervention to understand. The Holy Ghost must interpret all scriptural text. St. John 14:26. "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." The Holy Ghost makes overseers of men among men to feed the Church of God, which He purchased with His own blood. God is a Spirit: Spirit has not flesh or blood. God purchased the sins in this world for all time with His own Blood. I Timothy 3:16. "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood." Acts 20:28

Book Synopsis Greek Mythic History by : Spencer Clevenger
Download or read book Greek Mythic History written by Spencer Clevenger and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2015-11-03 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As far back as the fifth century BCE Pherecydes and others attempted to integrate city-state stories into a coherent mythic Greek pre-history. Science unavailable to ancient sources helped guide author Spencer Clevenger to critical insights and intriguing results. In Greek Mythic History, he weaves myths concerning gods, kings, and heroes into their intended time and place and offers a concise retelling of Greek myths from a historic perspective. Capitalizing on modern discoveries, Clevenger tells the story in chronological order, starting with the creation of the cosmos and ending in the Dark Ages when poets began to write down their myths and stories. Neither history nor mythology, the stories depict what history might be if the myths were interpreted more literally. With maps and exhibits included, Greek Mythic History provides a comprehensive retelling of the various Hellenic myths in a logical historical sequence, and places nearly the entire canon into context.

Agent Kellie Crowkiller is lovely and tenacious, and she takes her work with the Special Drug Interdiction Force seriously. Her assignment: to hunt down and stop a group of Mexican drug runners. She finds them strewn across an arroyo, headless and without hands. Miles away is biotech millionaire Abel Townsend, a man convinced that the strain of parasites he has nearly perfected is not only capable of controlling specified human behavior, but of securing support to create a new Palestinian homeland. Can he guarantee a beleaguered population a safe home...and the United States more secure borders? In a creative, tension-packed story, we explore justice in a new light and reconsider what we once deemed impossible.

Book Synopsis Accounts and Images of Six Kannon in Japan by : Sherry D. Fowler
Download or read book Accounts and Images of Six Kannon in Japan written by Sherry D. Fowler and published by University of Hawaii Press. This book was released on 2016-11-30 with total page 457 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Buddhists around the world celebrate the benefits of worshipping Kannon (Avalokiteśvara), a compassionate savior who is one of the most beloved in the Buddhist pantheon. When Kannon appears in multiple manifestations, the deity’s powers are believed to increase to even greater heights. This concept generated several cults throughout history: among the most significant is the cult of the Six Kannon, which began in Japan in the tenth century and remained prominent through the sixteenth century. In this ambitious work, Sherry Fowler examines the development of the Japanese Six Kannon cult, its sculptures and paintings, and its transition to the Thirty-three Kannon cult, which remains active to this day. An exemplar of Six Kannon imagery is the complete set of life-size wooden sculptures made in 1224 and housed at the Kyoto temple Daihōonji. This set, along with others, is analyzed to demonstrate how Six Kannon worship impacted Buddhist practice. Employing a diachronic approach, Fowler presents case studies beginning in the eleventh century to reinstate a context for sets of Six Kannon, the majority of which have been lost or scattered, and thus illuminates the vibrancy, magnitude, and distribution of the cult and enhances our knowledge of religious image-making in Japan. Kannon’s role in assisting beings trapped in the six paths of transmigration is a well-documented catalyst for the selection of the number six, but there are other significant themes at work. Six Kannon worship includes significant foci on worldly concerns such as childbirth and animal husbandry, ties between text and image, and numerous correlations with Shinto kami groups of six. While making groups of Kannon visible, Fowler explores the fluidity of numerical deity categorizations and the attempts to quantify the invisible. Moreover, her investigation reveals Kyushu as an especially active site in the history of the Six Kannon cult. Much as Kannon images once functioned to attract worshippers, their presentation in this book will entice contemporary readers to revisit their assumptions about East Asia’s most popular Buddhist deity.
