Book excerpt: Corporal Sam Deland has a lot on his plate. He’s a dog lover, single dad, jet pilot, likes girls and his tight knit state police squad is buried under the weight of an unsolved brutal double murder that has stunned his quiet upstate community. The pressure mounts as Sam’s team tracks the bad guys into Philadelphia’s tough, gritty streets. The characters are the real story though, and with humor, hard work and luck, Sam’s team draws the reader’s mind to unexpected and surprising places. Realistic police work with a rich descriptive character and scene portrayal is carefully crafted into a story that you will not want to put down.

Book Synopsis Photoassimilate Distribution Plants and Crops Source-Sink Relationships by : Zamski
Download or read book Photoassimilate Distribution Plants and Crops Source-Sink Relationships written by Zamski and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-09-29 with total page 928 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Adopting an interdisciplinary approach to the study of photoassimilate partitioning and source-sink relationhips, this work details the major aspects of source-sink physiology and metabolism, the integration of individual components and photoassimilate partitioning, and the whole plant source-sink relationships in 16 agriculturally important crops. The work examines in detail the components of carbon partitioning, such as ecology, photosynthesis, loading, transport and anatomy, and discusses the impact of genetic, environmental and agrotechnical factors on the parts of whole plant source-link physiology.

Book Synopsis Fixed-base Simulator Investigation of the Effects of L [alpha] and True Speed on Pilot Opinion of Longitudinal Flying Qualities by : Charles R. Chalk
Download or read book Fixed-base Simulator Investigation of the Effects of L [alpha] and True Speed on Pilot Opinion of Longitudinal Flying Qualities written by Charles R. Chalk and published by . This book was released on 1963 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The study is directed toward investigating the effects on pilots rating of large variations (L alpha) in the relative amplitude and phase of the basic airplane responses to elevator control. The effects of L alpha and true speed on longitudinal flying qualities, optimum control gain, and normal acceleration response to turbulence were investigated in a ground simulator. The steady state ratio of normal acceleration to angle of attack was found to be of significance both to the flying qualities of an airplane and to the optimum longitudinal control gain. Normal acceleration response to rough air was demonstrated to be primarily a function of L alpha and the short period frequency and damping ratio.
