Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kade One look at the baby girl, Kade Ryland knew he was the father. For three months, Kade had posed as Bree Winston's husband at the Fulbright Fertility Clinic, while the two FBI agents investigated illegal adoptions and surrogates. Nine months later, a baby appeared but Bree was nowhere to be found. To find Bree, Kade had to reopen a case that has become too personal. But if they were never a real couple, were Kade and Bree ready to be parents? Whatever the answer, Kade had more than one reason to close this case forever. Gage He faked his death for good reason, but CIA operative Gage Ryland has a better reason to return. Though they broke up years ago, Gage wants to save his ex-wife — his very pregnant ex-wife — Lynette Herrington from a hit man. Obviously the baby proves she's gotten over Gage. Or has she? While on the run, Gage feels sparks between them. But he knows he must fix a decade of hurt before Lynette will trust Gage again. But complicating his emotions is Lynette's pregnancy...and how her unborn child could be his. Mason Danger isn't a new thing on his ranch, but for Deputy Mason Ryland this was the final straw. Someone was targeting his family and the brooding lawman now had a new person to protect: horse trainer Abbie Baker. Abbie's arrival suspiciously coincided with the latest attack. Soon, Mason uncovers an old secret between Abbie and the Rylands. The discovery irks him, but Mason can't ignore the threats facing beautiful Abbie. As a lawman, he'll protect her during the investigation. As a man, he'll provide personal protection through the summer nights...

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this new volume, the results of Rex E. Gerald’s 1957 excavations at the Davis Ranch Site in southeastern Arizona’s San Pedro River Valley are reported in their entirety for the first time. Annotations to Gerald’s original manuscript in the archives of the Amerind Museum and newly written material place Gerald’s work in the context of what is currently known regarding the late thirteenth-century Kayenta diaspora and the relationship between Kayenta immigrants and the Salado phenomenon. Data presented by Gerald and other contributors identify the site as having been inhabited by people from the Kayenta region of northeastern Arizona and southeastern Utah. The results of Gerald’s excavations and Archaeology Southwest’s San Pedro Preservation Project (1990–2001) indicate that the people of the Davis Ranch Site were part of a network of dispersed immigrant enclaves responsible for the origin and spread of Roosevelt Red Ware pottery, the key material marker of the Salado phenomenon. A companion volume to Charles Di Peso’s 1958 publication on the nearby Reeve Ruin, archaeologists working in the U.S. Southwest and other researchers interested in ancient population movements and their consequences will consider this work an essential case study.

Connor Wilson is finally ready to start his own ranch. He's worked hard and invested wisely, even traveling across the ocean to secure prime cattle. Now he's riding the train toward the next phase of his life. During the journey, the rugged cowboy takes it upon himself to intervene on behalf of three young brothers. His good deed done, he never expects to see the boys or their lovely caregiver again. But best laid plans don't always go as we hope and the brief encounter is destined to change his life. The ultimate objective of Hadley House is to place some of New York City's orphaned and abandoned children in loving homes. With her eye on achieving that goal, Naomi Holender travels west by train with a group of youngsters. In the process she will be required to make the most painful sacrifice of her life. An orphan herself, she personally understands the hardships and difficulties of an imperfect system that often separates families and leaves broken hearts in its wake. But, when a scruffy cowboy interferes with her work, she's forced to defend her convictions and take a hard look at her life.

Book excerpt: For Miranda, Newark has nothing to offer except a dead-end job, a crummy apartment, and an abusive boyfriend. But when her younger sister signs her up for an online dating website to prove to her the kinds of guys who would be interested in her, she starts an online connection with the perfect guy. He's handsome, he's a real-life cowboy, and...he's in his seventies! Miranda steps off the bus to find the man of her dreams waiting for her, only he doesn't know it. His elderly father, concerned that his six sons are isolated on their highly prosperous 800,000-acre ranch signed up one of his oldest boys and did a little matchmaking behind their backs. Now Miranda and Casey have a choice to make, but will they be willing to put aside their mistrust and give this a shot, or go their separate ways?
