He's never forgiven Eve for breaking his heart, but her anguish is hard to watch. Before he can reject the most hard–headed – yet alluring – woman in Texas, he has to protect her. An attempt on her life places them into a dangerous murder investigation – and an even more dangerous liaison. In the heat of the moment, Grayson may be able to forgive Eve but will he give her what she wants the most? Dade Kayla Brennan doesn't want Texas lawman Dade Ryland's protection. His family hates her and their attraction is too intense. When bullets start flying, Dade shields her and her baby. But she knows that Dade thinks she's in on the crime... Kayla's testimony is all Dade should want. Especially since he suspects Kayla's involved in the death of a Ryland family member. Yet the fact that they're enemies only makes the animal attraction between them stronger. And more dangerous. For the killer is not who he seems, and is far closer than Dade ever imagined. Nate When Lieutenant Nate Ryland's baby daughter is kidnapped, he finds an ally in Darcy Burkhart, a woman he never thought – never wanted – to see again. Darcy's son has also been taken and they'll do anything to bring their children home. Unfortunately this is no ordinary adversary. And though Nate is used to dealing with the worst of society, even he can't predict the enemy's next move. As the search continues, Nate begins to admire the woman he once considered his greatest opponent – and desiring her in ways he never thought possible.

Book excerpt: New York Times bestselling author Brenda Novak welcomes you to Silver Springs with four classic stories of romantic fiction… “Once you visit Silver Springs, you’ll never want to leave.” ~Library Journal Finding Our Forever The search for her birth mother brought Cora Kelly to the New Horizons Boys Ranch. Getting a job there was easy enough, but telling Aiyana, the ranch’s owner, that she’s really her daughter is another matter. Especially once she gets to know Elijah Turner—Aiyana’s adopted son and ranch manager. Elijah can’t deny his deep attraction to Cora, though due to his past he’s always struggled with trust. But if the feelings she awakes in his guarded heart are any indication, she might be just what he’s long been waiting for. No One But You After a messy divorce and desperate to secure custody of her son, Sadie Harris takes a job assisting Dawson Reed—the same Dawson Reed who recently stood trial for the murder of his adoptive parents. Innocent of the charges against him, Dawson wants to leave his painful past behind and fix up the family farm so he can finally bring his dependent sister home where she belongs. As Sadie’s and Dawson’s professional relationship grows into something undeniably personal, Sadie realizes there’s more to Dawson than the bad boy everyone else sees—he has a good heart, one that might even be worth fighting for. Until You Loved Me Workaholic scientist Ellie Fisher liberates her wild side just long enough to indulge in a passionate one-night-stand. She never even learned the guy’s full name, something that shouldn’t have been a problem…until a pregnancy test turns positive. Being a professional football player, Hudson King has always been cautious around women—but this one had been different. When Ellie tracks him down, claiming she’s carrying his baby, he’s stunned. After growing up as an orphan, he’ll do anything to stay involved in his child’s life. Hudson has a lot of love to give—certainly enough for his child, and when their initial spark reignites, perhaps for Ellie too… Right Where We Belong Savanna Gray’s “perfect” life unraveled when her husband was arrested for attacking three women. With her divorce settled, she takes her two children home to Silver Springs to seek refuge between the walls of the farmhouse where she was born. Gavin Turner understands the struggle of starting over. Abandoned when he was five, it wasn’t until he landed at New Horizons Boys Ranch as a teen that he finally found some peace. He steps up when Savanna needs help fixing things. Despite an escalating attraction to Gavin, Savanna resolves to keep her distance. But it’s hard to resist a man whose heart is as capable as his hands. Originally published in 2017

That is if she can keep her emotions reined in. Will Hailey reveal the truth about the ranch no matter who it might hurt? Will Brant’s tenuous hold on the home that has been in his family for generations unravel from beneath his grip? Adam Desantis is back in the small town of Valentine Valley, Colorado—bruised, battle-weary and sexier than ever! Not that Brooke Thalberg is in the market. The beautiful cowgirl of Silver Creek Ranch needs a cowboy for hire, not a boyfriend—though the gaggle of grandmas at the Widows’ Boardinghouse thinks otherwise. But from the moment she finds herself in Adam’s arms, she’s shocked to discover she may just want more. Adam knows it’s crazy to tangle with Brooke, especially with the memories that still haunt him, and the warm welcome her family has given him. But he finds himself in a fix, because tender-loving Brooke is so much more woman than he ever imagined. Can a soldier battling demons give her the love she clearly deserves? Just about everybody in Valentine thinks so! Praise for the Valentine Valley series by Emma Cane: “Strong families, deep friendships and sexy heroes abound in Valentine Valley. I’d love to live there.” —#1 New York Times bestselling author Sherryl Woods

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this new volume, the results of Rex E. Gerald’s 1957 excavations at the Davis Ranch Site in southeastern Arizona’s San Pedro River Valley are reported in their entirety for the first time. Annotations to Gerald’s original manuscript in the archives of the Amerind Museum and newly written material place Gerald’s work in the context of what is currently known regarding the late thirteenth-century Kayenta diaspora and the relationship between Kayenta immigrants and the Salado phenomenon. Data presented by Gerald and other contributors identify the site as having been inhabited by people from the Kayenta region of northeastern Arizona and southeastern Utah. The results of Gerald’s excavations and Archaeology Southwest’s San Pedro Preservation Project (1990–2001) indicate that the people of the Davis Ranch Site were part of a network of dispersed immigrant enclaves responsible for the origin and spread of Roosevelt Red Ware pottery, the key material marker of the Salado phenomenon. A companion volume to Charles Di Peso’s 1958 publication on the nearby Reeve Ruin, archaeologists working in the U.S. Southwest and other researchers interested in ancient population movements and their consequences will consider this work an essential case study.

Book excerpt: Union Pacific Railroad's Averell Harriman had a bold vision to restore rail passenger traffic decimated by the Great Depression: create ski tourism in Idaho's remote Wood River Valley. A $1.5 million investment opened Sun Valley in December 1936 with a lavish lodge, luxury shopping, Austrian ski instructors and extensive backcountry skiing. Prestigious tournaments featured the world's best skiers. Chairlifts invented by Union Pacific engineers serviced skiers quickly and comfortably. Ski instructor and filmmaker Otto Lang recalled that seemingly overnight, it became "a magnet for the 'beautiful people,' a meeting place for movie stars and moguls, chairmen and captains of industry, Greek shipping tycoons, and peripatetic playboys--and playgirls--of the international social set." After World War II and Harriman's departure, Union Pacific's willingness to pay the $500,000 yearly subsidy waned. Bill Janss purchased it in 1964 and reimagined it as a year-round resort but lacked the capital for growth. Sinclair Oil owners Earl and Carol Holding acquired it in 1977, revitalizing it into a premier resort with international status. Award-winning ski historian John W. Lundin celebrates America's first destination ski resort using unpublished Union Pacific documents, oral histories, contemporaneous accounts and more than 150 historic images.

He cannot remember the last time he took a day off or, better yet, felt a woman’s willing surrender. And it’s just his luck that on his first day off in ages, he runs into a sexy squatter on his property, never expecting that single interaction would alter the very fabric of his world. Still, he cannot seem to stay away from the sultry scientist, Avery. Colt feels bad for her, worries that she is running from something, and decides to cover her stay at the ranch. After all, he owns the place and has plenty of cash. Although that tiny little detail is a secret he plans on keeping to himself. It is addictive having a woman look in his direction and not see dollar signs for a change. Because when Avery casts those goddess eyes his way, he’s just a man, a man she craves and submits to body and soul, like he’s her man, and his longing for her has him tied up in knots. With trouble and danger drawn to her like magnets, Avery pulls out his protective, dominant nature. The woman needs a keeper, and he’s the perfect man for the job. Now he has less than two weeks to convince her to stay, to make her fall for him before she discovers he’s rich. But will she hate him when she discovers his deception?
