Over the next six years, his experiences stretch far beyond what any of us might imagine one child could survive. Abducted from his family, he was starved, tortured, and left for dead three times. This is the remarkable story of how a young boy managed to work with the Underground. He escaped from terrible places of extreme degradation only to be incarcerated in even worse camps. Later in the war, he was even placed in the Nazi Experimental Hospital for children. Mitch's story is an authentic documentation of what happened in these most heinous facilities. Through a child's eyes and a man's indelible memories, the devastating impact of the Third Reich on Poland is exposed in the pages of Silent Screams of a Survivor. In war years that took six million Jewish lives in unthinkable atrocities, this book reveals how Poland and her people were also caught in the path of the Nazi war machine. Mitch's perspective is unique: his family was not Jewish, but Catholic. He was not a Polish citizen, but an American. History is starkly personal, a reality we don't always grasp through academic means. Here, the experiences of one family offer us a broader perspective on the evil of the Nazi regime. Would we be strong enough to survive? Would we risk our lives to help our Jewish friends? After turning these pages, you may never see the Holocaust in the same way. The book is a strong affirmation of the best of human beings. Instead of being sad, this true story exults in the commonality and will to survive that all humans have somewhere deep within them. In the final analysis, hope and freedom are more compelling than even depravity or suffering. Regardless of age, nationality, or religion, readers will treasure Silent Screams of a Survivor as a classic story that challenges all of us to think again about the critical importance of history and the lessons it dares us to embrace.

Book excerpt: Rachel comes from a long line of honored military vets spanning four generations. Her and her husband Seth proudly served their country and were born and raised in a coastal Texas town where big trucks and American flags filled the streets. Once they finished the military they decided to move to Washington DC and continue defending the country by working as a part of the Capital police force. They were so proud to be back on American soil and still be able to wear a uniform and defend the country that they love the most. But when they woke up on January 6th, 2021, they never imagined that their lives would change so much in the midst of one eight hour shift. This is a story from the perspective of a woman who went to work on that day expecting the monotony of every other day but came home forever changed. Recognizing that she did tours in Afghanistan, but it took an insurrection on American soil to put the weight of PTSD on her shoulders for life. From the perspective of someone who was there, someone who on a different day would have supported and believed in the rhetoric of the crowd that day, but she was there, just trying to do her job. She didn't get to turn the channel, and she was barely able to walk away. A reminder that a "survivor" of a catastrophic event still holds the memory of, the pain of, the guilt of and the sheer horror of that experience with them for the rest of their lives. Living in their heads as "Silent Screams" that they can't silence and no one else can hear. A different kind of survivor's story because Rachel was one of them, until she wasn't.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Comments The following are unsolicited comments. Only a first name was used and may be a pseudonym for the victim who wrote the comment after reading my poems. This is typical behavior when dealing with survivors. I want you to carry the warm glow of knowing you done real good there with you all day. Now, get that book out there for all those other people who need it, already. Alexandra! May I say again, Vinnie, thank you--for your talents and support. I ́ve read several of the poems and I must say that I admire anyone who can put into print and art feelings regarding sexual abuse. Garnett I am grateful that you are able to put into words what I have been having difficulty expressing to the point of tears. I hope that, in sharing your words, it will release others ́ suffering. Thanks, Sue I was surfing and ran across your poetry and artwork. It is so undescribable. I want to say awesome and deep and well written, but that sounds so trivial because of the pain it shelters. I can really relate to the first poem, "Paradox of the Abused." Sheila Description The poems in "Silent Screams" have helped survivors on their road to healing. Some of these poems were written to help the author get over his own anger, frustration and pain. Others were written specifically to help survivors he has met on Internet Survivor Sites get over theirs. It was the moving survivor ́s responses to these poems that led to the publication of this book. There are two reasons for the existence of Silent Screams: 1. To help survivors and their families on their long arduous road to recovery. 2. To create a permanent record of the pain and suffering of those who have had the misfortune of being sexually abused. "Silent Screams", Poetry Born of Clergy Abuse is destined to become a permanent witness to the devastating effects of clergy abuse. It takes to task the evil of the priests who purported to dedicate their lives to God and the hypocrisy of the church that protected them. The poetry alternates between riveting satire and a uniquely honest portrayal of the pain and anguish suffered by survivors of clerical sexual abuse. These poems offer no excuses; they make no apologies and take no prisoners when dealing with the Catholic Church and the Clergy Sexual Abuse Scandal. Silent Screams rips open the curtain of silence surrounding survivors thereby exposing their deep wounds and terrible suffering. The poetry exudes gut wrenching emotion as it deals with the anger generated by pain, the devastating impact of the survivor ́s suffering and its effects on victims and their families. There is compassion and tenderness for the victims and an ample dose of contempt for those who would cover-up the crimes committed by priests. Through his poetry, Nauheimer offers a unique insight into the emotional upheaval caused by clerical sexual abuse. He has put that pain into words for all to witness. One poem will shine a spotlight on a tortured soul while another will let you experience the heartbreaking lament of a parent over their child ́s suffering and the next will upbraid the church in focused satirical rhyme rarely seen. Powerful emotions are stirred whether the author is firing a canon loaded with satire against the church or allowing the reader to glimpse the incredible anguish experienced by the tortured soul called a survivor. Either way, this poetry will move you. This is must read for survivors of clergy abuse, their families, and friends. It should be mandatory for all clergy and it is certainly a worthwhile read for anyone with more than a passing interest in the effects of clerical sexual abuse.

Book excerpt: In the course of trying to have my manuscript Sun Rays at Midnight published, I discovered that there were thousands of other manuscripts by survivors submitted to the Project of Holocaust Survivors Memoirs and other publishing institutions, manuscripts that for various reasons will never see the light of day. Publishers claim, that because of the flood of the survivors memoirs, the poor literary quality of most and the similarity of the narrative, there is no market for the memoirs, that despite, that the 2002 Nobel Prize for literature was granted to a Hungarian Holocaust survivor, Imre Kertesz for his memoir Fateless. That, despite the fact that not so long ago an Oscar was granted for the film, Pianist-.

Christa Ryan takes readers on a roller coaster ride, offering them many places to find their own identities. She sorts through her past, showing how one episode after another contributed to the chaos of her adult life. She recounts how she matured into better person rather than perpetuate the victim cycle. Her candid storytelling reflects how actions are so tragically linked to this Disease of The Family of Origin and how patterns of hurts, hang-ups, and habits are carried forward into the next generation. Christa was able to break this cycle through the powers of willingness, love and forgiveness. In this remarkable story, she encourages readers to face and overcome the silent screams of their everyday struggles.

Book excerpt: Diane Langberg said in her book Counseling Survivors of Sexual Abuse, “We who call ourselves Christians blaspheme the name of Christ if we pretend that the evils of the Holocaust or the rape of little girls and boys are less than they truly are.” She had grown up in a secure and healthy home and had been warned as a new counselor not to believe “hysterical” women, who told her of the horrors they had experienced. I'm so glad she chose not to take that ungodly advice. She says that salvation that doesn't take this kind of evil into account is no salvation at all. I whole heartedly agree with her sentiments. There are still so many today that stick their holy heads in the sand of their blessed Scriptures and ignore all the passages about the evils of this world. They pick and choose the good and pretend as if the evil didn't exist. Well, as a former victim and now survivor of childhood sexual abuse and domestic violence, they might want to call me one of those “hysterical” women, and as a Christian counselor of other victims, I just want to pull their little holy heads out of the sand and say, look, this is real people in a real evil world. This book is a compilation of my previous writings on the topics of childhood sexual abuse and rape. It's certainly not comprehensive with my limited understanding of the issues involved, but I hope it will be of some benefit to those who read its content. It covers topics such as those a victim might need to read and other topics that might interest those who counsel and advocate for them. It includes some stories of victims who I've met, and others who I've only read about, but who have all cried out their silent screams and found no one listening. I found in my own search that though there were organizations out there in the secular realm, there were not very many Christian organizations to help Christian victims heal. It's my hope that all those out there who are searching for answers to their heartaches will know that at least I've heard them, and will do what I can to help them, as long as there is breath left in me. My own story is in my previous book, A Little Redneck Theology, if readers of this book find it helpful and want to know more about me and why I began my ministry, Go Fish Ministries, inc. which may be located online at http://gofishministries.wordpress.com.
