A mind, thus preoccupied, knows not how to withdraw. At such times, only God or a man of discrimination can help us see light. The Sanatkumaras approached Lord Brahma, the Creator, with such a problem. Lord Brahma confessed to being to preoccupied, and therefore, had no solution to offer. The supreme Lord then appeared as ‘Hamsa’ – the Swan, and gave the knowledge of the Truth. This episode of Shrimad Bhagavatam is called Hamsa Gita. The lucid commentary by Swami Tejomayananda helps us understand the problem and seek a practical solution, thereby giving us a head start towards our quest for Truth.

Babaji lives today near Badrinath, in the upper Himalayan mountains. His body has not aged since the age of sixteen, when centuries ago he attained the supreme state of enlightenment and divine transformation. This followed his initiation into scientific art of Kriya Yoga by two deathless masters, the siddhas Agastyar and Boganathar, who belonged to the "18 Siddha Tradition", famous among the Tamil speaking people of southern India. This rare account, by a long time disciple, reveals their little known stories, ancient culture and present mission, as well as how their Kriya Yoga can be used to bring about the integration of the material and spiritual dimensions of life. Clear explanations of the psychophysiological effects of Kriya Yoga and guidelines for its practice are given. It includes verses from the Siddhas' writings with commentary. A book which will inspire you.

Of all the scriptures, it is said that Gita provides the deepest and most practical knowledge about faith, devotion, surrender, detachment, and a release of expectations and ownership over one’s own actions. But like any teaching, time and unqualified minds can distort scriptures like this and misrepresent what is contained within. It is for that purpose that the Lord continuously takes birth on earth in the form of the Guru to revive the true essence of the Gita and to demonstrate the simplicity and power of the divine message of the Lord. One such Master is Paramahamsa Sri Swami Vishwananda, and this book is his personal commentary on this timeless knowledge. Perfect for the beginner as well as those who have read other commentaries, this is more than just a book. Book Synopsis Bhagavad Gita- the Spiritual Song by : Sunil Kristi Krishnadas
Download or read book Bhagavad Gita- the Spiritual Song written by Sunil Kristi Krishnadas and published by Trafford Publishing. This book was released on 2010-04-20 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bhagavad Gita is a spiritual handbook that can be of great assistance to all seekers of the truth. Proper practice of the methods mentioned therein can help one, in this very life to attain that which is known as Samadhi, Nirvana, Enlightenment or Liberation. There is no pre-requisite to either join or leave any particular religious denomination to practice these methods, as the Gita teaches spirituality rather than religiosity. Accommodating all types of persons, the various paths shown in the Bhagavad-Gita culminate in the unity underlying all existence. By any of these paths, all will surely attain God as they understand Him. The central theme of the Bhagavad-Gita is the unity, interdependence and subjectiveness of the cosmic manifestation. Such a concept is also now accepted in the field of quantum physics, which, from one perspective, may be perceived as a convergence of science and spirituality.

This book was released on with total page 944 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The largest-selling edition of the Gita in the Western world, Bhagavad-gita As It Is is more than a book. It is alive with knowledge and devotion; thus it has the power to change your life for the better. Bhagavad-gita is knowledge of five basic truths and the relationship of each truth to the other: These five truths are Krishna, or God, the individual soul, the material world, action in this world, and time. The Gita lucidly explains the nature of consciousness, the self, and the universe. It is the essence of India's spiritual wisdom, the answers to questions posed by philosophers for centuries. In translating the Gita, A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada has remained loyal to the intended meaning of Krishna's words, and thus he has unlocked all the secrets of the ancient knowledge of the Gita and placed them before us as an exciting opportunity for self-improvement and spiritual fulfillment. The Gita is a conversation between Krishna and His dear friend Arjuna. At the last moment before entering a battle between brothers and friends, the great warrior Arjuna begins to wonder: Why should he fight? What is the meaning of his life? Where is he going after death? In response, Krishna brings His friend from perplexity to spiritual enlightenment, and each one of us is invited to walk the same path.

Download or read book 108 Most Important Shlokas of the Bhagavad Gita (Simplified For Beginners of All Ages) written by Monisha K Gumber and published by Anecdote Publishing House. This book was released on 2024-08-26 with total page 135 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: About the Book - The simplification of the selected 108 shlokas of the Bhagvad Gita is not a direct translation nor an in-depth analysis. With humility and respect my endeavor is just to offer the wisdom of the Gita in regular conversational language, especially for beginners in India and beyond. If you haven't read any of the scriptures and would like to know more about our ancient civilization and history, then this might be a good place to start, though there are some brilliant minds who have dedicated their lives for dharma and desh-sewa. An excellent body of work is produced by some great personalities such as Sanjay Dikshit, Nilesh Oak, Rajeev Malhotra, Ami Ganatra, Neeraj Atri, and countless others; towards whom I humbly offer my deepest and sincerest gratitude. In this particular compilation, there are only 108 shlokas, as recommended by the ISKCON* and are aligned to the Bhakti aspect. In totality there are 700 shlokas, logically structured into 18 chapters mostly focusing on Karma Yog, Gyan Yog and Bhakti Yog. The word 'yog' or 'yoga' doesn't have a single meaning. In the context of Gita it means the 'path' undertaken to be united with a specific goal. The Gita starts with Arjuna's anguish just before the battle of Kurukshetra is about to begin and seeks guidance from his trusted friend and Guru, Shri Krishna. To even attempt to list down the great learnings in this sacred text, would not be possible in a single lifetime, still, this document would provide you a base to explore deeper and wider into this ocean of precious knowledge. Please also note at this stage, you could find some concepts repetitious or contradictory. Hence, you might eventually need a trusted Guru. All depends on the intensity of your desire to know more. Gita is the song of Bhagwan Himself and the essence of the Vedas. If you are reading this, probably its Krishna's will and you can consider yourself fortunate that the Gita has chosen to come to you, in whatever form. Please continue on this beautiful journey that shall open up your hearts and minds to some enchanting places in the universe. I am writing from personal experiences that all we need is devotion and He shall take care of everything. Radhey Radhey
