This book was released on 2002 with total page 15 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report examines the factors which affect gas supply in the short term in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, and presents an outlook for gas deliverability in 2004. The main objective is to advance understanding of the short-term gas supply situation by examining recent trends in the production characteristics of the Basin and applying these trends to a short-term forecast. A historical review of natural gas production & drilling activity for the Basin is also provided. The outlook is restricted to conventional supplies, with analytical results in terms of initial productivity and production decline rates of a typical connection. The outlook does not assess the potential for development of coalbed methane or tight gas, and does not include withdrawals from storage reservoirs.

Download or read book Advanced Reservoir Engineering written by Tarek Ahmed and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2011-03-15 with total page 421 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advanced Reservoir Engineering offers the practicing engineer and engineering student a full description, with worked examples, of all of the kinds of reservoir engineering topics that the engineer will use in day-to-day activities. In an industry where there is often a lack of information, this timely volume gives a comprehensive account of the physics of reservoir engineering, a thorough knowledge of which is essential in the petroleum industry for the efficient recovery of hydrocarbons.Chapter one deals exclusively with the theory and practice of transient flow analysis and offers a brief but thorough hands-on guide to gas and oil well testing. Chapter two documents water influx models and their practical applications in conducting comprehensive field studies, widely used throughout the industry. Later chapters include unconventional gas reservoirs and the classical adaptations of the material balance equation.* An essential tool for the petroleum and reservoir engineer, offering information not available anywhere else* Introduces the reader to cutting-edge new developments in Type-Curve Analysis, unconventional gas reservoirs, and gas hydrates * Written by two of the industry's best-known and respected reservoir engineers
Book Synopsis Understanding Oil and Gas Shows and Seals in the Search for Hydrocarbons by : John Dolson
Download or read book Understanding Oil and Gas Shows and Seals in the Search for Hydrocarbons written by John Dolson and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-06-15 with total page 498 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explains in detail how to use oil and gas show information to find hydrocarbons. It covers the basics of exploration methodologies, drilling and mud systems, cuttings and mud gas show evaluation, fundamental log analysis, the pitfalls of log-calculated water saturations, and a complete overview of the use of pressures to understand traps and migration, hydrodynamics, and seal and reservoir quantification using capillary pressure. Also included are techniques for quickly generating pseudo-capillary pressure curves from simple porosity/permeability data, with examples of how to build spreadsheets in Excel, and a complete treatment of fluid inclusion analysis and fluid inclusion stratigraphy to map migration pathways. In addition, petroleum systems modeling and fundamental source rock geochemistry are discussed in depth, particularly in the context of unconventional source rock evaluation and screening tools for entering new plays. The book is heavily illustrated with numerous examples and case histories from the author’s 37 years of exploration experience. The topics covered in this book will give any young geoscientist a quick start on a successful career and serve as a refresher for the more experienced explorer.

Book Synopsis Geologic Carbon Sequestration by : V. Vishal
Download or read book Geologic Carbon Sequestration written by V. Vishal and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-05-11 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This exclusive compilation written by eminent experts from more than ten countries, outlines the processes and methods for geologic sequestration in different sinks. It discusses and highlights the details of individual storage types, including recent advances in the science and technology of carbon storage. The topic is of immense interest to geoscientists, reservoir engineers, environmentalists and researchers from the scientific and industrial communities working on the methodologies for carbon dioxide storage. Increasing concentrations of anthropogenic carbon dioxide in the atmosphere are often held responsible for the rising temperature of the globe. Geologic sequestration prevents atmospheric release of the waste greenhouse gases by storing them underground for geologically significant periods of time. The book addresses the need for an understanding of carbon reservoir characteristics and behavior. Other book volumes on carbon capture, utilization and storage (CCUS) attempt to cover the entire process of CCUS, but the topic of geologic sequestration is not discussed in detail. This book focuses on the recent trends and up-to-date information on different storage rock types, ranging from deep saline aquifers to coal to basaltic formations.
Book Synopsis Reservoir Model Design by : Philip Ringrose
