Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We don’t need to understand everything, if we know that God is guiding and directing our steps. Learning to accept living with mystery is an essential part of growing into maturity in our walk with God. When it comes to understanding things, we have our territory and God has His. Our territory only expands when He chooses to reveal things to us. That is why we have to trust Him with all our hearts (Proverbs 3:5-6). We need to believe the truth of God’s Word. His Word is truth and knowing the truth sets us free (John 8:32)! If we are not convinced that God’s Word is true, then fear and unbelief come in. That is when Satan has a foothold in our lives. We need to walk by faith and not by sight. We need to trust God’s SOVEREIGNTY and the truth of His Word.

God is an abundant God, a God of plenty. Whatever we place into God’s hands, however small, God will enlarge and use in a mighty way. We must never think that what we have is too small. Nothing is too small for God. It may seem small to us, but when God blesses it, it multiplies. A tiny acorn becomes a large oak tree. Perhaps we feel that our gifts, our time, our talents, and our efforts are too small to make a difference. But when we trust God with them and place them into His hands, He blesses them and increases them. God uses them in ways we never imagined.

Book excerpt: One of the most important, practical, and controversial issues a Christian must deal with is how God is sovereign, how humans are free, and how both fit together. Over the past generation one model for how to explain this is Molinism, which has become very popular, especially among philosophers. Yet, for any Christian, the most important question must always remain, "What does the Bible teach?" In this book we discover seven truths that the Bible teaches and that affirm the model known as Calvinsm is a better representation of the biblical data than is Molinism. Though this is a rich and detailed work, the reader will benefit from it as biblical teaching is unfolded and many questions are answered: "If God governs all things, how can our choices remain free and significant?" "Must God limit his sovereignty and governance of humans so our love of him can be genuine?" "If God does sovereignly govern all things, does he govern all things in the same manner?" "Can a person choose to trust in Jesus Christ as Savior merely based upon his or her own free will?" "If Christians in eternity future will never choose to disobey God and sin, does this mean they lack freedom?" Finally, you will find not only critiques of Molinism, but also of some popular versions of Calvinism. Whether or not you end up in agreement with the book's conclusions, you will take away better understanding of what the issues are.

Jesus intercedes to the Father on their behalf. Even though He was suffering on the cross, being rejected and mocked, treated like a criminal, Jesus still was pleading with His Father not to lay it to their charge. The Holy Spirit helps us know what God is saying to us and what is in His heart. We cannot trust our own wisdom, but the Holy Spirit helps us in all our weaknesses. He empowers us to pray in line with the will and purpose of God. We need to follow His leading in intercession. The Holy Spirit will put people and situations on our hearts, just at the right time when prayer is needed. We need to pray in faith, believing (Mark 11:24).

(Matthew 26:41) We need to pray, and pray often. We also need to pray with others when we can. The enemy makes something look true when it’s a lie, and he makes it look pleasant to the desires of our old nature. It seems good, but it is destructive. We need to recognise temptation for what it is – something that can lead to sin.

Of course, you can start at Chapter 1 and read the whole book if you prefer, and our prayer is that every reader will be greatly blessed by what they read. The majority of these sixty-three chapters have been released individually as booklets, and every chapter as individual eBooks that are available in all formats from major eBook distributors. The eBook editions are free from most distributors. This whole volume is also available as a paperback from major book distributors.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the following pages an attempt has been made to examine anew in the light of God's Word some of the profoundest questions which can engage the human mind. Oth¬ers have grappled with these mighty problems in days gone by and from their labors we are the gainers. While mak¬ing no claim for originality the writer, nevertheless, has endeavored to examine and deal with his subject from an entirely independent viewpoint. We have studied diligently the writings of such men as Augustine and Acquinas, Calvin and Melancthon, Jonathan Edwards and Ralph Erskine, Andrew Fuller and Robert Haldane.* And sad it is to think that these eminent and honored names are almost entirely unknown to the present generation. Though, of course, we do not endorse all their conclusions, yet we gladly acknowledge our deep indebtedness to their works. We have purposely refrained from quoting freely from these deeply taught theologians, because we desired that the faith of our readers should stand not in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. For this reason we have quoted freely from the Scriptures and have sought to furnish proof texts for every statement we have advanced. Arthur Walkington Pink was an English Christian evangelist and Biblical scholar known for his staunchly Calvinist and Puritan-like teachings. Though born to Christian parents, prior to conversion he migrated into a Theosophical society (an occult gnostic group popular in England during that time), and quickly rose in prominence within their ranks. His conversion came from his father's patient admonitions from Scripture. It was the verse, Proverbs 14:12, 'there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death,' which particularly struck his heart and compelled him to renounce Theosophy and follow Jesus.

Book excerpt: The Sovereignty of God is a religion classic by English Bible teacher Arthur Pink who articulates and relates the Biblical truths of God's absolute Sovereignty with the main goal to exalt God solely from the pages of Scripture. Pink attempts to draw closer the tension between the sovereignty of God and the responsibility of man, an eternal question that remains debated even though it's seemingly plainly taught in the Scripture. The author's focus is on the divine side of the issue, defining God's sovereignty and presenting the different spheres that it works and operates. Further on he turns to the tension between the sovereignty of God and human will and responsibility.

Even good things can take away our hunger for God – even things like our busyness in our work for Him. There is always the temptation to fill our time with good things, and miss the best that God has for us. God wants us to feast on Him, to spend time in His presence, and for His presence to be the pinnacle of our lives. We should desire God above all else. (John 7:37-38)

Trials come in many different areas in our lives. Some are short, and some are long. Some are more intense than others. But one thing is the same in all of them – they can all carry mystery and cause us to wonder why they happened. God will use the hard times in our lives as a refining process to bring out the best in us. Gold is valuable when it is purified through heat. God is very much in control of the temperature. He wants to mature and develop us. He knows where we need Him to work on us by His Holy Spirit. He does it all for our good. As we grow and develop in Christ, He will teach us to be the overcomers we were made to be.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The dictionary definition of burn-out is, “When the fuel is exhausted and the fire ceases.” We must always guard against doing things in our own strength. We need to always tap into God’s divine supply, and the overflow of His Holy Spirit. Even if we are doing the right things for God, we must keep going back to His resources for our strength and ability. We must never rely on our own strength – it will always run out and we will run dry. Self-reliance is often the cause of burn-out. We need to ask God for wisdom and direction in all things. In order to carry on in our calling without burn-out we must stay focused on Jesus, and be filled with the Holy Spirit.

It could be a bad attitude or a long-term habit that traps us in a never-ending cycle. It can also be a wrong influence through another person that can come between us and our relationship with God. Giants try to stop our growth and progress towards our destiny. There are many strongholds that the enemy uses: oppression, condemnation, guilt, fear, shame, compromise, self effort, self-righteousness, and pride. We should also add anger and unforgiveness, and many other wrong thoughts and beliefs.
