Besonders für Kinder und Jugendliche ist seit Anfang 2020 ein gewohnter Alltag nicht mehr möglich. In Einrichtungen der stationären Kinder- und Jugendhilfe benötigen gerade sie daher einen strukturierten und gewohnten Tagesablauf, der ihnen fernab von der Herkunftsfamilie Sicherheit gibt. Ziel der vorliegenden Bachelor-Thesis ist es, aus Sicht von betreuenden Sozialpädagog*innen einen Einblick in das Erleben von Kindern und Jugendlichen in der stationären Kinder- und Jugendhilfe während der COVID-19-Pandemie zu geben und Rückschlüsse auf deren psychosoziale Gesundheit zu ziehen. Dazu wird folgende Forschungsfrage gestellt: „Wie erleben Sozialpädagog*innen die psychosoziale Gesundheit von Kindern und Jugendlichen in der stationären Kinder- und Jugendhilfe während der COVID-19-Pandemie?“ Um die Forschungsfrage zu beantworten, wurde ein qualitatives Forschungsdesign gewählt und ein teilstandardisiertes Leitfadeninterview durchgeführt. Insgesamt wurden fünf Sozialpädagoginnen aus drei verschiedenen Bundesländern interviewt. Im Anschluss an die Interviews erfolgte eine strukturierte Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring sowie eine deduktiv-induktive Kategorienbildung. Die qualitative Forschungsarbeit zeigt, dass Kinder und Jugendliche, die sich während der COVID-19-Pandemie in der stationären Kinder- und Jugendhilfe befinden, in ihrer psychosozialen Gesundheit insbesondere während eines Lockdowns beeinträchtigt sind. Aus den Ergebnissen lassen sich verschiedene Handlungsmaßnahmen und weiterer Forschungsbedarf ableiten.

Eine zusätzlich durchgeführte Aktenanalyse ergibt in Übereinstimmung mit vielen Bewährungsstudien, dass in über 70 Prozent der Fälle eine positive Entwicklung der Kinder und Jugendlichen im Kinderdorf erfolgt. In der qualitativen Auswertung macht Georg Kormann deutlich, dass neben anderen Faktoren die verlässliche und vertrauensvolle Beziehung und Fürsorge einer erwachsenen Bezugsperson einen zentralen Schutzfaktor für die Entwicklung der jungen Menschen darstellt.

Zusätzlich sind Behandlungen von psychischen Erkrankungen oft sehr kostspielig und zeitintensiv, wohingegen sich Präventionsprogramme oft ohne größeren und finanziellen Aufwand in alle Lebensbereiche von Kindern, Jugendlichen und ihren Familien installieren lassen.
