Book Synopsis Thirteenth Century England XIII by : Janet E. Burton
Download or read book Thirteenth Century England XIII written by Janet E. Burton and published by Boydell Press. This book was released on 2011 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Essays reflecting the most recent research on the thirteenth century, with a timely focus on the Treaty of Paris. Additional editors: Karen Stöber, Björn Weiler The articles collected here bear witness to the continued and wide interest in England and its neighbours in the "long" thirteenth century. The volume includes papers on the high politics of the thirteenth century, international relations, the administrative and governmental structures of medieval England and aspects of the wider societal and political context of the period. A particular theme of the papers is Anglo-French political history, and especially the ways in which that relationship was reflected in the diplomatic and dynastic arrangements associated with the Treaty of Paris, the 750th anniversary of which fell during 2009, a fact celebrated in this collection of essays and the Paris conference at which the original papers were first delivered. Book Synopsis The Theory of Pseudo-rigid Bodies by : Harley Cohen
Download or read book The Theory of Pseudo-rigid Bodies written by Harley Cohen and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-07 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph concerns the development, analysis, and application of the theory of pseudo-rigid bodies. It collects together our work on that subject over the last five years. While some results have appeared else where, much of the work is new. Our objective in writing this mono graph has been to present a new theory of the deformation of bodies, one that has not only a firm theoretical basis, but also the simplicity to serve as an effective tool in practical problems. Consequently, the main body of the treatise is a multifaceted development of the theory, from foundations to explicit solutions to linearizations to methods of approximation. The fact that this variety of aspects, each examined in considerable detail, can be collected together in a single, unified treat ment gives this theory an elegance that we feel sets it apart from many others. While our goal has always been to give a complete treatment of the theory as it now stands, the work here is not meant to be definitive. Theories are not entities that appear suddenly one day and thereafter stand as given. Rather, they must mature and grow with time and experience. Our development is more correctly a beginning, tempting others to explore, appraise, and modify its features so as to produce something better.

Book Synopsis Nonlinear Problems in Aviation and Aerospace by : S. Sivasundaram
Download or read book Nonlinear Problems in Aviation and Aerospace written by S. Sivasundaram and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2000-01-10 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The study of nonlinear phenomena in aviation and aerospace includes developments in computer technology and the use of nonlinear mathematical models. Nonlinearities are a feature of aircraft dynamics and flight control systems and need to respond to achieve stability and performance. This multiauthor volume comprises selected papers from the conference Nonlinear Problems in Aviation and Aerospace at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and additional invited papers from many distinguished scientists. Coverage includes orbit determination of a tethered satellite system using laser and radar tracking, and intelligent control of agile aircraft, flight control with and without control surfaces.
Book Synopsis Modeling of Adhesively Bonded Joints by : Lucas F. M. da Silva
Download or read book Modeling of Adhesively Bonded Joints written by Lucas F. M. da Silva and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-10-14 with total page 335 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A lot of recent developments have been made about adhesively bonded joints modeling using various methods of analysis. The increasing application of adhesives in industry is partly due to the increased sophistication and reliability of adhesive joints modeling. The book proposed intends to provide the designer with the most advanced stress analyses techniques in adhesive joints to reinforce the use of this promising bonding technique.
