Book excerpt: This is a READ ALOUD BOOK – it is important that your voice be heard – For the spoken word has power and our power is given through the very words that we speak – It takes 2 hours and 45 minutes to read the entire book – My attention was pinged when I read about the MEETING between Melchizedek King of Salem and Abraham- the Father of Nations – For what did Melchizedek share with Abraham that was so much of a BLESSING, that Abraham gave Melchizedek a tenth of the spoils of the battle between the Kings at Mount Hobah? Additionally, what was the significance of the BREAD and WINE OFFERING? I began my search for the answer to these two questions and I found much more – the WORDS SPOKEN BY MELCHIZEDEK about the CREATION of MAN and the TIME BEFORE THE FLOOD. I was farther blessed with the SPIRIT OF EMMANUEL who shared with me the DEATH AND RESURRECTION of JESUS and how it ushered in the GRAND PRIESTHOOD AND KINGSHIP OF EMMANUEL – AND – introduced the HOLY into MY KNOWING -

Blessed with a gift for drawing all manner of interesting reflections from everyday things, Boreham builds stories out of slippers, holly trees, a visit to the doctor's, the scent of perfume, and the verdant fields near a village. Peppering his passages with wisdom and folksy observations plus snatches of poetic verse, the sum of the author's efforts are heartwarming anecdotes and musings of lasting appeal. Popular for decades in the early 20th century, Boreham retains a devoted audience to this day, his love of life and nature an eternal draw. Book Synopsis The Three Sovereigns Tradition by : Dominic Emanuel Steavu-Balint
Download or read book The Three Sovereigns Tradition written by Dominic Emanuel Steavu-Balint and published by Stanford University. This book was released on 2010 with total page 334 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This dissertation attempts to elucidate the origins and nature of the lost Sanhuang wen (Writ of the Three Sovereigns), and identify its surviving fragments in the Daoist Canon. Through a close examination of these fragments, this study reconstructs various stages in scripture's transmission and traces its development from a single text to a fourteen-scroll corpus replete with mantic methods, cosmological speculations, and elaborate liturgies. The present study pushes beyond conventional views of the Sanhuang by underscoring the pivotal role of alchemy and meditation alongside talismans as defining components of the tradition. It analyzes key notions, such as "true form" (zhenxing), in the sophisticated conceptual apparatus that governs Sanhuang talismanic, alchemical, and meditative practices. In so doing, this dissertation reveals the profound impact of the Sanhuang wen on the religious landscape of Six Dynasties Jiangnan, and in a larger framework, on the development of Daoism.
