Book excerpt: In this book, first published in 1962, Professor Hilton Hotema provides his insights into how we could all live longer by learning the body's simple requirements of breathing fresh air, avoiding animal flesh, banning any cooked food, and by gradually lessening the amount of food consumed. Hotema firmly believes that breathing fresh air and consuming organic fruits and natural organic liquids alone could extend our lives and also lays bare his secret that what kills at an early age is not the illusion of time, but rather overeating, breathing in toxic, unclean air, and elements such as electronic radiation, dirty electricity and medications. A must-read for any health-conscious individual.

Book excerpt: "This book is a revolution! It goes way beyond the beliefs that have fueled modern pharmaceutical medicine for decades and gives you all the science you'll ever need to prove that there is another way." - Christiane Northrup, M.D., New York Times bestselling author of Goddesses Never Age Modern medicine and human health are at a critical crossroads, and the truth is that you and not your genes are in the driver's seat. You are the one who gets to make informed decisions on how you use and nourish the evolutionary miracle that is your body. Combining analysis of cutting-edge scientific findings with our deepest ancestral wisdom and health-promoting practices, Sayer Ji, founder of GreenMedInfo, offers a time-tested program to help prevent and manage the most common health afflictions of our day-cancer, heart disease, neurodegenerative diseases, and metabolic syndrome. Antiquated thinking and scientific dogma have long obstructed our understanding of our innate untapped potential for self-regeneration and radical healing. But the New Biology explains why biological time is not a downward spiral and how chronic illness is not inevitable when you implement nature's resiliency tools. In his thorough and thoughtful exploration of the New Biology, Sayer Ji illuminates: the fascinating new science of food as information the truth about cancer and heart disease screening and what real prevention looks like how to reverse the most common forms of degeneration using food-based approaches how the body extracts energy from sources other than food, including water and melanin; and how to make sense of conflicting dietary recommendations and out-of-date food philosophies Encoded within every tissue of your body is your ability to regenerate. Unlock your radical resiliency through this roadmap for diet, exercise, stress reduction, and the cultivation of the environment in which you choose to live.

Book excerpt: This is a demanding book—but our times are demanding. It is an honest book—and our times demand truth. —Matthew Fox, American priest, theologian, and author The genius of this book is the knowledge that this catastrophe is a necessary precursor to a radical transformation that we are co-creating with the divine. Radical Regeneration is an indispensable guide for what lies ahead. —Betty J. Kovács, Ph.D., author of Merchants of Light: The Consciousness That Is Changing the World This book, Radical Regeneration, is a radiant offering of the possibility of the evolution of human consciousness in the midst of extinction. It’s exactly the fierce and sacred medicine we need right now. —V (formerly known as Eve Ensler), author of The Vagina Monologues and The Apology Andrew Harvey and Carolyn Baker invite us to rise to these times as a grand initiation, to be renewed in splendor, or to stand idly and be swallowed by Kali, the goddess of time and death. —Alberto Villoldo PhD, Bestselling author of One Spirit Medicine and Shaman Healer Sage If ever we needed a guidebook that truly addressed the crises of our times while inspiring us with guidance and wisdom, this is that book. —Caroline Myss, author of Anatomy of the Spirit and Intimate Conversations with the Divine What is being made crystal clear is that humanity stands at a monumentally fragile threshold with two stark choices placed before it in a situation of complete uncertainty: Those choices are: 1) To continue to worship a vision of power, totally distanced from sacred reality 2) Or to choose the path of submitting bravely to the alchemy of being transfigured by a global dark night event that shatters all illusions but reveals the greatest imaginable possibility being born out of the greatest imaginable disaster. If humanity chooses the second path, which is what is being celebrated in this book, then it will have trained itself in the new radical unity necessary to weather the even worse crises that most certainly will quickly follow.

Book excerpt: “Calls to mind such early moderns as Hemingway and Fitzgerald...Some of the most powerful antiwar literature in modern English fiction.”—The Boston Globe The first book of the Regeneration Trilogy—a Booker Prize nominee and one of Entertainment Weekly’s 100 All-Time Greatest Novels. In 1917 Siegfried Sasson, noted poet and decorated war hero, publicly refused to continue serving as a British officer in World War I. His reason: the war was a senseless slaughter. He was officially classified "mentally unsound" and sent to Craiglockhart War Hospital. There a brilliant psychiatrist, Dr. William Rivers, set about restoring Sassoon’s “sanity” and sending him back to the trenches. This novel tells what happened as only a novel can. It is a war saga in which not a shot is fired. It is a story of a battle for a man's mind in which only the reader can decide who is the victor, who the vanquished, and who the victim. One of the most amazing feats of fiction of our time, Regeneration has been hailed by critics across the globe. More than one hundred years since World War I, this book is as timely and relevant as ever.

Two hundred nuclear weapons have been launched at key targets across the planet ... An alien species is gathering warships while the world sleeps, unable to defend itself ... A ruthless cybernetic army is about to erase all traces of life in the bunkers, controlled by their Queen ... And a genetic timebomb is ticking in the bodies of the only people who can put an end to this deadly assault. Dan Tracy must face his worst fears as he stares his new enemy directly in the eyes. But only one can survive the final battle in space, only one will make it out alive ... The Secret Bunker: Regeneration is the final story in a trilogy of books by author Paul Teague. What readers are saying about The Secret Bunker The Secret Bunker set a quick pace towards a culmination of events with a meeting of all the main characters and left me gripped along the way. It's not often I pre order the next book but I did in this case, there's no way I'm missing what happens next. ... Paul manages to provide an authentic teenage voice for his prime character all the way through. Looking forward to seeing what comes in the second of the trilogy which I've already pre-ordered, need I say more? Really enjoyed this adventure seen through the eyes of the teenage lead character - his voice was so true and compelling. I'm looking forward to reading the others and would rather like to go and visit the real bunker! I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down, I can't wait to see what happens next in book two! 5 Stars, I really enjoyed it! ... the action is intense and lots of twists and turns abound until the last page is turned ... The characters are well defined, plot is fantastic and the ending leaves us waiting for the next part ... Most highly recommended. Author Q&A What gave you the idea for The Secret Bunker Trilogy? We'd been on a trip to Anstruther in Fife, UK and needed a rainy day activity for the kids. Among the leaflets in our holiday cottage was one advertising Scotland's Secret Bunker. It was built to help safeguard Scotland during the Cold War in the event of a nuclear attack. The Secret Bunker lies 100 feet underground and is the size of two football pitches. It's an amazing place and we had a great visit, though the story idea didn't follow for some time afterwards. You can see Scotland's Secret Bunker for yourself at secretbunker.co.uk What made you start writing the trilogy? I'd spotted a writing competition online which was being run by Chicken House Publishing. My wife, my sister and one of my children had expressed an interest in writing, so I passed the competition to them. It only needed 5000 words to get started, so I guess this must have started percolating in my head. I woke up one morning with a very dramatic opening to a story. It was an image of somebody getting trapped in the bunker while their loved ones were running towards them. The huge bunker doors slammed shut, separating them, and I began to wonder what might have caused that to happen. I jumped out of bed and wrote the beginning of the story. It was much easier than I thought it would be to write a series of three books, I really enjoyed ramping up the level of jeopardy in each one.

Book excerpt: In this haunting second installment of the Regeneration Trilogy, a World War I officer grapples with the complex realities of PTSD, identity, sexuality, and society’s perceptions of mental illness. It is the spring of 1918, and Britain is faced with the possibility of defeat by Germany. A beleaguered government and a vengeful public target two groups as scapegoats: pacifists and homosexuals. Many are jailed, others lead dangerous double lives, the “the eye in the door” becomes a symbol of the paranoia that threatens to destroy the very fabric of British society. Central to this novel are such compelling, richly imagined characters as the brilliant and compassionate Dr. William Rivers; his most famous patient, the poet Siegfried Sassoon; and Lieutenant Billy Prior, who plays a central role as a domestic intelligence agent. With compelling, realistic dialogue and a keen eye for the social issues that have gone overlooked in mainstream media, The Eye in the Door is a triumph that equals Regeneration and the third novel in the trilogy, the 1995 Booker Prize-winning The Ghost Road, establishing Pat Barker's place in the very forefront of contemporary novelists.

Book excerpt: In the Great Mystic Symbolic Tetragrammaton of the Ancient Masters we have one of their deepest secrets; the discovery of what the Masters called the Sacred Four Elements, as they found that these elements enter into the constitution of everything known. Earth, Water, Air, and Fire are the elements that produce every formation, every object, every organism. The Masters then invented an appropriate symbol to embrace the Sacred Four Elements. This symbol is known to us as the Sphinx, the image of which has been found in all the lands of the ancient world, and just as far back in the night of time as it is possible for us to go. Professor Hilton Hotema again raises compelling questions regarding our physical, spiritual, and mental reactions to these Sacred Four Elements.
