Ethan “Chaos” Watson never expected to use his skills as a former Navy SEAL and current search and rescue expert to track down Bigfoot. But when a paranormal investigator goes missing while filming in the mountains near Fallport, Virginia, Ethan and his team are called in to find the man. A task made harder when they’re trailed by a camera crew. Camerawoman Lilly Ray was already reaching the end of her rope on the hokey, ridiculous paranormal shoot. Now the producer has ordered her to stick to the SAR team to get their every move on video. Admittedly not a hardship; she noticed Ethan her first day in town, and the more time they spend together, the more attracted she becomes. When the search stretches on for days, then weeks, it seems clear her co-worker didn’t just wander off trail, getting lost in the woods. Foul play is evident, and soon, everyone on the cast and crew is suspect. As the team steps up their search, someone is equally determined to use the disappearance to their advantage. Then Lilly herself goes missing, and Ethan and his team will turn over every rock and leaf in the Appalachians to locate her…before it’s too late. He wasn’t looking for love, but it found him anyway—and he’s not letting anyone take away the woman who’s become his whole world. ** Searching for Lilly is the first book in the Eagle Point Search & Rescue Series. Once upon a time, Elsie Ireland thought she’d found the man of her dreams, only to learn her fairytale romance was just another cautionary tale. Beyond a perfect family image, her husband had little interest in Elsie, and even less in their son. Years later, she and nine-year-old Tony have landed in Fallport, Virginia. She’s working two jobs and living in a motel, but Tony has a roof over his head and plenty of love. For Elsie, however, love isn’t in the cards. She doesn’t have the time to spare…or the trust. After serving his country as a Green Beret, Zeke Calhoun was happy to get out of the military and settle into small-town life as a bar owner. His position with Eagle Point Search and Rescue fulfills his need to serve and provides some of the best friends he’s ever known. He didn’t realize anything was missing until it was right under his nose every day—his sweet, shy waitress, Elsie. It isn’t easy to convince the independent, gun-shy single mom to let him in, and with memories of his own disastrous marriage still plaguing him, Zeke isn’t fully certain he’s the best bet for a healthy relationship. But one stolen kiss in a heightened moment, and he’s a goner. Vowing that Elsie and Tony’s lives are about to change for the better, Zeke is up for the challenge of proving not all men are like her ex. A task made significantly more difficult when a complication throws the couple’s fledgling relationship off course—then quickly spirals into a life-or-death situation no one saw coming. ** Searching for Elsie is the second book in the Eagle Point Search & Rescue Series. Book excerpt: It is the summer of 1949 when nine-year-old Lilly Browns teenage cousin, Rosalie, romps into her life from the big city of Chicago and crowds her way into the little sharecropper shack Lilly shares with her younger sister, mother, and elderly grandparents in the backwoods of Georgia. Lilly is dismayed that Rosalie has disrupted her household, and Rosalie is less than thrilled with the new home she must share with her sharecropper relatives. Rosalie, who is all sass and bold as a lion, brings attitude to the familys small corner of the world. While she tells tales of her antics in the big city, Lilly hangs on to Rosalies every word and soon begins to dream of a better life that does not include picking cotton in the hot sun or sporadically attending school. But as Lillys coming-of-age journey eventually leads her to migrate north to Buffalo with her family, she quickly discovers that with every dream comes a struggle to make it come true. In this historical novel, a young African American woman migrates from Georgia to Buffalo, where she must battle seemingly insurmountable odds to make a better life for herself and her family.

Book excerpt: IN SEARCH OF HER AYAH is a story of shifting emotions and responses -- lust and desire; betrayal and revenge; mystery and adventure; and love and trust -- as told through the eyes and the strokes of a paint brush of four individuals with vastly different backgrounds and perspectives. This sad and happy story is played out across the world: from the tranquil remnants of a once bustling town on the coast of Oregon, to the peaceful beauty and charm of Victoria, in the steaming heat and poverty of India, in the metaphysical world of the wonders and magic and tragedy of Tibet, in the towering Himalayas, and finally in a transplanted French chateau near Portland. "Although the main characters of Tom Morison's epic novel are fictional, they could have lived. The Oregon village of Beaver is a composite of existing coastal towns with their boisterous past. The poor throngs of India are all too real -- drivers do play chicken on the narrow roads. There is a little temple high above Gangtok where once a Buddhist artist painted wild and beautiful scenes on the interior's walls. And the tragic story of Tibet is all too well known. IN SEARCH OF HER AYAH rings true." -- Bruce Batchelor, publisher About the Author Tom Morison is an economist by training, receiving a doctorate degree from Franz Joseph University in Innsbruck, Austria. He was an investor by occupation, but his real love is writing about and painting the images from a life of travel and adventure around the world. He has written three previous books: POUNCE, a financial satire; THE GATE OF MISTS, a climbing mystery; and 13.2, a parody on aging. And now, IN SEARCH OF HER AYAH.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lilly And The Angel 'Good Spirits and the Spirit Block' -Volume2- "Punishment has never been so WICKED!!" ANIMOSITY! DISSENSION! FRICTION! RIVALRY!--these are the kindest ways to describe the underlying connection between this sullen, substitute Angel and his atrocious and chilly child-assignment. The journey continues in this second installment of the epic three-part Novel, as Corinthian and Lilly fight for dominance in securing the upper hand between one another, all the while trying to fight through the barrage of enemies sent to attack them. It is now Wednesday, two full days since the appearance of Corinthian Angel Creation Of God on earth as Lilly's Aegis, and already he has found himself in deep trouble--with little to no progress of achieving his ultimate goal of becoming an official Guardian Angel. Corinthian now has to navigate through, and undo a major catastrophe (created by him) against Lilly, as both have raised the stakes within the physical and spiritual realm. Lilly has never been worse, and as the days go by, her emotions are hinting 'moral conflict' as the defensive walls she has built around her life are starting to weaken against the faint whisper of the possibility of a world 'without the need of them.' As stated before, "These two individuals are messed up, and in need of a serious intervention! Together, Lilly and Corinthian must let get go of their differences and trust in themselves, each other, and the \'Most High\' if they're ever to have a chance at the liberation, the validation and peace they both so desperately...yet so 'secretly' desire. A rude Angel with a serious distaste for humans, an unmannerly six-year-old girl with an attitude larger than the city in which she lives; this could either be a recipe for disaster...or the very ingredients for a miracle!"

But when Rosa a beautiful and wise woman in her seventies invites Eva to join her on the course learning through love Rosa offers to show Eva her true path. Eva finds that through Rosa'a stories of love and a spiritual meeting in the caves of Bearn a new way of thinking about love, the concept of abundance, and a universal love that will change her life forever. About the AuthorKelly Brown (born in London 1970) began writing very early, and had two poems published before she was fourteen. After a three month research trip to Africa Kelly was asked to write a play for the Theatre Centre, which was performed at the Lilian Baylis theatre ('eating Strawberries in the toilet) and another for the Royal Court YPT about the Morant Bay Uprising. After this Kelly Studied Literature and Philosophy at University, under the tuition of JonathanR e, excelling in European Literature and philosophy. As a writer Kelly then struggled to find an authentic voice and decided to work with children, traveling and learning about life. She wanted to write about more than the angst inside her head! However just when Kelly felt that she had found her authentic voice the change was difficult for people to understand. When she gave up her work with children and started writing her family panicked. She was labeled as mentally ill and she found her self in hospital with the diagnosis of manic depression. Kelly says that getting over the stigma of having a mental illness was really hard, but that eventually she found that it gave her permission to be who she wanted to be- an artist (in a very surrealist sense of the word). A writer and philosopher, dancer and photographer. It also opened up a new spiritual and healing dimension to her life. She gained a Masters in Fine art studying with Geoff Brunel who helped her to develop a very valuable creative process- working from images and concepts, calmly and relaxed, not manically.

Book excerpt: This open access book covers all facets of entity-oriented search—where “search” can be interpreted in the broadest sense of information access—from a unified point of view, and provides a coherent and comprehensive overview of the state of the art. It represents the first synthesis of research in this broad and rapidly developing area. Selected topics are discussed in-depth, the goal being to establish fundamental techniques and methods as a basis for future research and development. Additional topics are treated at a survey level only, containing numerous pointers to the relevant literature. A roadmap for future research, based on open issues and challenges identified along the way, rounds out the book. The book is divided into three main parts, sandwiched between introductory and concluding chapters. The first two chapters introduce readers to the basic concepts, provide an overview of entity-oriented search tasks, and present the various types and sources of data that will be used throughout the book. Part I deals with the core task of entity ranking: given a textual query, possibly enriched with additional elements or structural hints, return a ranked list of entities. This core task is examined in a number of different variants, using both structured and unstructured data collections, and numerous query formulations. In turn, Part II is devoted to the role of entities in bridging unstructured and structured data. Part III explores how entities can enable search engines to understand the concepts, meaning, and intent behind the query that the user enters into the search box, and how they can provide rich and focused responses (as opposed to merely a list of documents)—a process known as semantic search. The final chapter concludes the book by discussing the limitations of current approaches, and suggesting directions for future research. Researchers and graduate students are the primary target audience of this book. A general background in information retrieval is sufficient to follow the material, including an understanding of basic probability and statistics concepts as well as a basic knowledge of machine learning concepts and supervised learning algorithms.
