Book Synopsis SATAN'S UNDERGROUND by : Lauren Stratford
Download or read book SATAN'S UNDERGROUND written by Lauren Stratford and published by Pelican Publishing Company. This book was released on 1991-07-31 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lauren Stratford's story is one that everyone needs to read, though it deals with a subject most of us would rather not discuss, a subject that for many is too horrendous even to believe. Lauren Stratford lived a life of unending nightmares. As a small child she was offered sexually to strange men. Soon after, she was forced into a torturous routine of pornography, was controlled by mind- and body-altering drugs, and constantly received threats to her life. Though she sought help several times from adults she thought could be trusted with her secrets, no one was willing to risk becoming involved. After years of suffering what many would call the ultimate evil of sexual abuse, Lauren was held captive in the even more appalling world of Satanism and ritual abuse. Forced to participate in some of the most evil satanic rituals imaginable, Lauren was witness to shocking crimes against children and others, all performed in the name of Satan. Tormented sexually and mentally by the cult members, Lauren survived the torture because of her strong faith in God and her belief that He would deliver her from the evil of which she had become a part. It is an undisputed fact that this type of abuse occurs in the world today. Through this shocking story, anyone who is caught in the trap of sexual or ritual abuse can learn that there is a way out--that with the help of God and others, victims like Lauren can break free. Parents, counselors, law-enforcement personnel, and anyone who may know of or suspect a case of abuse will find in this book invaluable advice. Discover how the veil of such horrible abuse can be lifted for all who suffer.
Book Synopsis The Gospel of the Fallen Angel by : Geraint ap Iorwerth
Download or read book The Gospel of the Fallen Angel written by Geraint ap Iorwerth and published by John Hunt Publishing. This book was released on 2011 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'From humble beginnings as a private investigator in the Heavenly Court, Satan worked his way up the career ladder to become God's Chief Prosecutor. It wasn't long before he branched off and started his own global enterprise as Prince of The World. 'The Gospel of The Fallen Angel' is Satan's exclusive, honest account of the life and times of his greatest adversary, Jesus of Galilee.' When Jesus walked on earth he gave strict orders not to let anyone know who he was. My minions couldn't help themselves. They kept blurting it out! I had better self control. Until now! After 2000 years, I've finally broken my silence. Not bad going for the archetypal disobedient one! Satan Geraint's The Gospel of The Fallen Angel is a first to tell the story of Jesus from Satan's perspective. He tells the story of the real Jewish Jesus, not the fictitious Christ of the Christian church. A highly original, clever, often funny, alternative view of the Gospels. It has a lot to say about traditional Christianity that is interesting and uncomfortable. Its appeal is its modern message about what it means to be human, whether one is religious or not.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most of us are regular people who have good days and bad days. Our lives are radically ordinary and unexciting. That means they're the kind of lives God gets excited about. While the world worships beauty and power and wealth, God hides his glory in the simple, the mundane, the foolish, working in unawesome people, things, and places. In our day of celebrity worship and online posturing, this is a refreshing, even transformative way of understanding God and our place in his creation. It urges us to treasure a life of simplicity, to love those whom the world passes by, to work for God's glory rather than our own. And it demonstrates that God has always been the Lord of the cross--a Savior who hides his grace in unattractive, inglorious places.Your God Is Too Glorious reminds readers that while a quiet life may look unimpressive to the world, it's the regular, everyday people that God tends to use to do his most important work.

Download or read book The Fall written by and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2008-08-09 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE FALL is an experimental graphic novel about Satan's fall from power by author and artist Q. But this reinvention of the classic mythological tale of war in heaven is told from one of the Devil's minions' perspective. This illustrated Q&A with a fallen angel ~ where the author Q interviews a fallen angel A ~ tells the strikingly remorseless story of Archangel Lucifer's struggle for power and fall from heaven after his failed rebellion against the Almighty. It is a story about the struggle for power unlike any other, and yet it feels so familiar that it cannot help but be seen as the story of each and every one of us. And though you would expect a sympathetic telling of Satan's story from one of his fallen angels, it will surprise and succeed by being a stark and unforgiving tragedy of mythic proportions that spares no one, least of all Satan. "The Fall is an elegant and thought provoking meditation on power, love and fear." ~ NYC painter Charles Schick.
Download or read book Heaven and Hell written by Bart D. Ehrman and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2021-03-23 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over half of Americans believe in a literal heaven, in a literal hell. Most people who hold these beliefs are Christian and assume they are the age-old teachings of the Bible. Ehrman shows that eternal rewards and punishments are found nowhere in the Old Testament, and are not what Jesus or his disciples taught. He recounts the long history of the afterlife, ranging from The Epic of Gilgamesh up to the writings of Augustine, focusing especially on the teachings of Jesus and his early followers. Ehrman shows that competing views were intimately connected with the social, cultural, and historical worlds out of which they emerged. -- adapted from jacket
Book Synopsis Satan's Playground by : Paul J Vanderwood
Download or read book Satan's Playground written by Paul J Vanderwood and published by Duke University Press. This book was released on 2010-04-09 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Satan’s Playground chronicles the rise and fall of the tumultuous and lucrative gambling industry that developed just south of the U.S.-Mexico border in the early twentieth century. As prohibitions against liquor, horse racing, gambling, and prostitution swept the United States, the vice industry flourished in and around Tijuana, to the extent that reformers came to call the town “Satan’s Playground,” unintentionally increasing its licentious allure. The area was dominated by Agua Caliente, a large, elegant gaming resort opened by four entrepreneurial Border Barons (three Americans and one Mexican) in 1928. Diplomats, royalty, film stars, sports celebrities, politicians, patricians, and nouveau-riche capitalists flocked to Agua Caliente’s luxurious complex of casinos, hotels, cabarets, and sports extravaganzas, and to its world-renowned thoroughbred racetrack. Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Louis B. Mayer, the Marx Brothers, Bing Crosby, Charlie Chaplin, Gloria Swanson, and the boxer Jack Dempsey were among the regular visitors. So were mobsters such as Bugsy Siegel, who later cited Agua Caliente as his inspiration for building the first such resort on what became the Las Vegas Strip. Less than a year after Agua Caliente opened, gangsters held up its money-car in transit to a bank in San Diego, killing the courier and a guard and stealing the company money pouch. Paul J. Vanderwood weaves the story of this heist gone wrong, the search for the killers, and their sensational trial into the overall history of the often-chaotic development of Agua Caliente, Tijuana, and Southern California. Drawing on newspaper accounts, police files, court records, personal memoirs, oral histories, and “true detective” magazines, he presents a fascinating portrait of vice and society in the Jazz Age, and he makes a significant contribution to the history of the U.S.-Mexico border.
