Book excerpt: MICHAEL KAGE SANTORI doesn’t think his life can get any more complicated. Juggling a new business, a fledgling UFC career, and the only real relationship he’s ever had is taking a toll on him both mentally and physically. After being attacked for daring to question the inner workings of his own business, he is left broken and confused. The discovery of his uncle’s journals has brought him face-to-face with a past he never understood, and the new perspective has him reeling. Add to that the fact that he hasn’t been totally honest with the love of his life, and you have a recipe for a serious nervous breakdown. When an old friend resurfaces with new information, Kage discovers things are only going to get worse before they get better. If he ever hopes to free himself from the chains of his uncle’s dark legacy, he’s going to have to become something he never wanted to be. And risk losing the only person he’s ever truly loved. JAMIE ATWOOD is in over his head. Instead of the happily ever after he’d envisioned, moving in with Kage has only been one disappointment after another. Kage has come out to the entire world and still managed to keep his reputation and his UFC contract intact, but mysterious forces Jamie has yet to discover are transforming his sexy alpha fighter into someone he doesn’t recognize anymore. If Kage doesn’t come clean soon, Jamie fears he’s going to have to leave. With his journalism degree and a newly-flourishing MMA blog, he knows he’s got what it takes to make it on his own financially. It’s his heart he’s worried about. Because without Kage by his side, what is there to live for? MEANWHILE IN ANOTHER LIFETIME... PETER SANTORI has found his bliss. Being Gio’s boy is a dream come true for a guy who thought he was doomed to a life of abuse and poverty. His confidence and sense of security are flourishing in the warm glow of Gio’s love, and he has started to believe that maybe he can have the fairytale after all. Never mind that he’s got to keep the true nature of their relationship a secret. Never mind that one of Gio’s associates seems to have something against him. And never mind that sometimes he gets the feeling that there’s a lot more to Gio than meets the eye. All that matters is that he and Gio are together. 4 EVER & EVER... --------------------------------- Books in this series: Kage (The Kage Trilogy Book 1) Kage Unleashed (The Kage Trilogy Book 2) Kage Unmasked (The Kage Trilogy Book 3) Santori (The Santori Trilogy Book 1) Santori Reborn (The Santori Trilogy Book 2) Keywords: gay romance, mm romance, gay fiction, gay alpha, gay alpha male, gay books, lgbt fiction, lgbt romance, lgbtq fiction, lgbtq romance, gay mma fighter, mma romance, fighter romance, best gay books, best mm books For readers of: Jay Bell, Sarina Bowen, Elle Kennedy, Aimee Nicole Walker, André Aciman, Riley Hart, Ella Frank, Lucy Lennox, Roan Parrish, Sloane Kennedy, Alexis Hall, Keira Andrews, Eli Easton, N.R. Book excerpt: Book 2 of the international bestselling M/M romance saga of a tortured alpha MMA fighter and his naive young intern. My name is Jamie Atwood, and I am an idiot. Against all odds, I got the attention of Michael Kage, the hottest MMA fighter on the planet. To say he rocked my world would be an understatement. He transformed me completely, made me depend on him, and made me love him. And the sex? Let me put it this way: I'd never been with a guy before I met Kage, but I'd gladly spend the rest of my life on my knees for him. He is my obsession and my addiction. But I did something stupid, and now I'm paying for it. I don't know if I'll ever see Kage again. Being Michael Kage was never easy. Too many demons, too much anger, and not enough to live for. And then I met Jamie Atwood. He's got this innocence about him that speaks to something deep down inside me- in a place that's never been touched by anyone. He's beautiful, smart, and courageous, and he hasn't been tainted by the darkness that's ruled my life. I wanted him from the first second I laid eyes on him. It's selfish, I know. Because you can't bring an innocent thing into the darkness and not expect something to rub off. It's a fairy tale come true. He may not know much about what's going on in Gio's business, but that's okay with him. He's perfectly fine with sitting around and looking pretty. But when disaster strikes, Peter's world is turned upside-down. Now he must make some tough decisions, and those decisions could make or break him. MICHAEL KAGE SANTORI is fascinated with his uncle Peter's journals. Not only does the story play out like a Shakespearean tragedy, but it could hold the key to why his life turned out so complicated. But Kage has a lot more to worry about besides his uncle's diaries. He's lost his boyfriend, and the only way to get him back is to play hardball with some real bad guys. Follow Kage and Jamie, and Peter and Gio as their story concludes in Santori Reloaded, the final chapter in the Santori Trilogy. Book excerpt: In the wake of recent papal legislation, the various liturgies of the Roman Rite may today be celebrated in either their post-Tridentine or post-Vatican II forms. Whilst much discussion of this new situation focuses on purely liturgical issues, this book breaks new ground by arguing that the coexistence of the two forms raises questions of a profoundly ecclesiological character. Peter McGrail explores the relationship between ritual form, ecclesial self- understanding and constructs of the world that are at play as adults become members of the Church. Analysing the rites by which adults were taken into the Church for three and a half centuries, this book goes on to explore attempts to find a new ritual expression for the journey to Christian Initiation, set against the divergent and even conflicting ecclesiologies which were at play before and during the Council.

Book excerpt: A teenage rabid romance reader finds herself in her own version of Pride & Prejudice in this sweet and swoony series opener. Boys are so much better in books. At least according to Merrilee Campbell, fifteen, who thinks real-life chivalry is dead and there’d be nothing more romantic than having a guy woo her like the heroes in classic stories. Then she, her best friend, Eliza, and her younger sister, Rory, transfer to Reginald R. Hero Prep—where all the boys look like they’ve stepped off the pages of a romance novel. Merri can hardly walk across the quad without running into someone who reminds her of Romeo. When the brooding and complicated Monroe Stratford scales Merri’s trellis in an effort to make her his, she thinks she might be Juliet incarnate. But as she works her way through her literature curriculum under the guidance of an enigmatic teacher, Merri’s tale begins to unfold in ways she couldn’t have imagined. Merri soon realizes that only she is in charge of her story. And it is a truth universally acknowledged that first impressions can be deceiving . . . “Schmidt ably captures the discombobulation and turn-on-a-dime emotions experienced by many early teens, and surrounds Merri with a believable cast of supporting characters. This contemporary rom-com series starter is a fun introduction to classics for middle-grade readers and younger YAs, wittily making old stories new again.” ?Booklist, starred review “Schmidt unapologetically places romance, and more romance, at the heart of this YA novel for younger teens . . . Ultimately Schmidt pits Romeo against a Mr. Darcy type in this romantic comedy (complete with Bridget Jones-like mishaps), whose heroine must open herself to the idea that the boy she least expects may turn out to be her real romantic hero.” —Publishers Weekly “This meshing of romantic classics and modern-day relationships is over-the-top good fun for tween romantics.” —Kirkus Reviews

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A friend of Galileo and author of the renowned utopia The City of the Sun, Tommaso Campanella (Stilo, Calabria,1568- Paris, 1639) is one of the most significant and original thinkers of the early modern period. His philosophical project centred upon the idea of reconciling Renaissance philosophy with a radical reform of science and society. He produced a complex and articulate synthesis of all fields of knowledge – including magic and astrology. During his early formative years as a Dominican friar, he manifested a restless impatience towards Aristotelian philosophy and its followers. As a reaction, he enthusiastically embraced Bernardino Telesio’s view that knowledge could only be acquired through the observation of things themselves, investigated through the senses and based on a correct understanding of the link between words and objects. Campanella’s new natural philosophy rested on the principle that the books written by men needed to be compared with God’s infinite book of nature, allowing them to correct the mistakes scattered throughout the human ‘copies’ which were always imperfect, partial and liable to revisions. It is in the light of these principles that he defended Galileo’s right to read the book of nature while denouncing the mistake of those – be they Aristotelian philosophers or theologians – who wanted to stop him from carrying on his natural investigations. However, Campanella maintained that the book of nature, far from being written in mathematical characters, was a living organism in which each natural being was endowed with life and a degree of sensibility that was appropriate for its preservation and propagation. Nature as a whole was an organism in which each single part was directed towards the common good. This is the reason why Campanella thought that nature had to be regarded as an ideal model for any political organisation. Political structures were often ruled by injustice and violence precisely because they had departed from that natural model. This book charts Campanella’s intellectual life by showing the origin, development and persistence of some of the fundamental tenets of his thought.

But when he finds himself falling for the androgynous dancer at Trybe, the nightclub where he works as a bouncer, things get confusing. He's never been attracted to guys before. Not really... And what would the folks back home say if they knew? Japanese-American mix Blake Himura has been on his own since he was seventeen, with no one to depend on but himself. He's mere months away from graduating college and becoming a dance instructor. Unstable men don't factor into his plans, least of all "straight" boys who don't mind ruining other people's lives to keep their dirty little secrets. Liam is exactly the kind of complication Blake doesn't need in his life. Unfortunately, his heart hasn't gotten the memo.

Book excerpt: A spellbinding new novel from the author of the Baba Yaga novels. Since Witches came out of the broom-closet in the early 21st century, they have worked alongside humans as police officers, healers, stock traders, and more. But they aren’t the only paranormal entities in our world... Police officer and Witch Donata Santori spends her days interrogating dead witnesses by summoning their spectral forms. Normally the job is little more than taking statements and filing reports. But when she’s called in on the case of a murdered art restorer, she finds herself suddenly in possession of a mystical portrait that both the human and paranormal communities would kill to get their hands on. Unable to take on the forces hunting her alone, Donata seeks help from two unlikely and attractive allies: a reluctant shape-changer and a half-dragon art forger. But as the three of them hurry to uncover the truth about the powerful painting, Donata realizes that she’s caught in the middle of not one but two wars—one for possession of the painting’s secrets and one for possession of her heart... Includes an exclusive preview of the next Baba Yaga novel, Wickedly Powerful.
