Book excerpt: Best-selling author, speaker, and activist Christine Caine reminds readers that as Christians they are born to win. Their purpose is to run in the divine race of life until the day they cross the finish line and hear the words of their father, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Based on her bestselling book Unstoppable, Christine Caine encourages readers with the truth that they are assured of victory. Each person has a race to run in life. It’s a race with eternal implications. But life is sometimes difficult. The task seems to tough, the path too perilous, the race too rigorous. In Run the Race!, Christine Caine reminds Christians that they know the outcome of the race before it begins, and that knowledge should revolutionize the way they run their race, the way they live their lives. She enthralls readers with stories and timeless principles that inspire people of faith to run the race of their life, receiving the baton of faith in sync with their winning team--the body of Christ. God has chosen them, prepared them and placed them on His team. They are unstoppable.

Book excerpt: Honest, humorous, and at times heart breaking, Run the Race: A Father's Legacy of Life Lessons is the moving true story of how one loving and devoted father inspired his daughter to run not only long distances, but also the real races of life. During the spring of seventh grade, author Susan Dawes's father, Floyd Seibert, introduces her to long-distance running at a high school girls' track meet in their hometown of Adel, Iowa. Secure in her father's confidence in her ability, she begins to run long distances for the Adel Junior High Tigerette track squad the next season. Supported by her father's sustaining guidance and influence, she is ecstatic to finally find a sport she loves. When a younger and faster girl joins the team, Susan begins to doubt her talent. She complains to her father and tells him she wants to quit. But Floyd Seibert offers the advice she will come to count on for the rest of her life: there will always be another race to run. Inspiring and encouraging, Run the Race shares the deep bond between father and daughter, the strength they build, and the courage they gain in the races of life.

Maybe this something is so far out of your comfort zone that it seems impossible and WAY too hard? Yes, me too. I was never a runner. I never dreamt of becoming a runner. I never dreamt of becoming a marathoner. And, I certainly never dreamt of becoming a writer. When I felt the Lord nudging me to pursue not only one of those three things but all of them, I wondered why in the world He would choose to use me to carry that out. Certainly, He could find someone better than me. I felt like the most unqualified person for any of it. However, God's plan sometimes doesn't always align with what we believe of ourselves. He sees the potential in us. He has the power and the authority to make what seems impossible, more than possible. I hope this book inspires you to run your race. Where you are and where you're going is beyond what you can imagine.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Have you ever been the person waiting for the doctor's office to call and give you the results of a recent biopsy? Maybe you were waiting with someone dear to you, your mother, a beloved aunt, your sister, a niece, or even your best friend. Those hours and days of waiting can fill even the most calm and stoic person with a sense of dread. And then the results from the pathology report finally come in. You get a phone call from the doctor's office or a nurse calls and says the doctor wants you to come in. Your heart is pounding, your mouth becomes completely dry, and every nerve cell is on edge with anxiety. And then you hear the words, "I'm sorry, but the news is not good. You have cancer. The tumor is malignant and is growing fast. We want to schedule you for surgery as soon as possible." If any of you reading these words are honest with ourselves, when we first hear the words, "You have cancer," we see it as a death sentence. Our mind begins to suddenly flash through our family history like a computer retrieving stored files. We see images of all the people who we've known, and lost. A mother, an aunt, a sister, two cousins, and yes, a coworker who lost her battle to breast cancer just last year. These images flood us with a sense of fear and hopelessness. But it doesn't have to be that way for a believer in Jesus Christ. In Jesus's own words, He said, "The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I have come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). This memoir will give some of you a roadmap for hope, but it will certainly be a road less traveled. The roadmap is based on the divinely inspired Word of God. That is the starting point for the race you are about to begin. It will also share one woman's courageous journey through multiple bouts with breast cancer, her faith in God's plan, and her eternal hope. The Goal: A radical change in diet, based on God's eating plan for His children from the very beginning, and the courage to resist the medical profession's plan for us. Let's begin the journey. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Free to Run the Race describes the living out of our life in Christ (Hebrews 12:1). It speaks of running "with endurance the race that is set before us." This can be done by fixing our "eyes on Jesus." "Undoing the Burden of Parental Disregard," speaks to a specific encumbrance that weighs the runner down making it harder to keep focus and finish the race. The burden is called "parental disregard." It is not being allowed to "be oneself," to pursue one's inner direction, or natural proclivity in one's life. It is the experience of developmental woundedness that says being oneself in temperament, aptitudes, natural talents, and the expressing of this is prohibited. Prov 22:6 says, "train up a child according to his own way." The burden of parental disregard is the emotional pain in living out an identity that is not based on any expression of one's natural "way(s)" or bent(s). This makes the development of trust in a heavenly Father (parent) difficult. The relieving of this burden takes a ruthlessly honest focus on this woundedness and its working out its implications honestly that allows a more truthful understanding of God's love for our lives.

Some of us are aware of that journey early on. Others awaken to it later. But each of us has opportunities throughout our lifetime to be transformed from what we thought we were into all that we know we are and will become again. It's also the single biggest project that you will ever have the privilege of participating in! So why not treat it as such? Why not define its scope and build on the foundation that's already inside you? Why not invest in it enough to rediscover all that you already know about yourself? Because isn't that why you're here? To live your purpose and consciously create the life that you know you were born to manifest? Will it require a lot of hard work along the way? A lot of training, endurance, and discipline? Absolutely! All of that and more, for sure. But LifeChampions(c) know what it takes to fulfill their spiritual destiny. They know how to run their own race, and they do whatever's necessary to claim the prize that awaits them. So I ask you today: Do you have what it takes to run the race marked out for you? Are you willing to commit to those first steps of faith toward all that you love, even if you don't quite know where they'll take you? If so, then you're ready. And that's really all that matters right now. Everything else will come in time.
