Book Synopsis Robot God Akamatsu, Vol. 1, Graphic Novel by : James Biggie
Download or read book Robot God Akamatsu, Vol. 1, Graphic Novel written by James Biggie and published by Zetabella Publishing. This book was released on 2013-06 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robot God Akamatsu is a homage to the Super Robot genre of the late 1970 s and early 1980 s, which helped to shape the imagination of an entire generation. When other-dimensional giant monsters (Dai-Kaijus and NecroBeasts), lead by the malevolent Balan Uru attack Massachusetts, Robot God Akamatsu (RGA for short) is awakened from his ancient slumber by modern science and ancient magic. RGA is piloted by the souls of three special humans and entrusted with the fate of defending the Earth! RGA's Graphic Novel is about the relationship between a father and his estranged son, as well as the abuse of power and how far some are willing to go to see their goals met. It is a little bit Godzilla, a tad bit of Force Five and a mighty rocket punch of the Shogun Warriors. Created by James Biggie (writer) & Frankie B, Washington (artist) with letters and edits by Josh Van Reyk (Letterer).
Book Synopsis Robotics, Vision and Control by : Peter Corke
Download or read book Robotics, Vision and Control written by Peter Corke and published by Springer. This book was released on 2011-09-05 with total page 572 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author has maintained two open-source MATLAB Toolboxes for more than 10 years: one for robotics and one for vision. The key strength of the Toolboxes provide a set of tools that allow the user to work with real problems, not trivial examples. For the student the book makes the algorithms accessible, the Toolbox code can be read to gain understanding, and the examples illustrate how it can be used —instant gratification in just a couple of lines of MATLAB code. The code can also be the starting point for new work, for researchers or students, by writing programs based on Toolbox functions, or modifying the Toolbox code itself. The purpose of this book is to expand on the tutorial material provided with the toolboxes, add many more examples, and to weave this into a narrative that covers robotics and computer vision separately and together. The author shows how complex problems can be decomposed and solved using just a few simple lines of code, and hopefully to inspire up and coming researchers. The topics covered are guided by the real problems observed over many years as a practitioner of both robotics and computer vision. It is written in a light but informative style, it is easy to read and absorb, and includes a lot of Matlab examples and figures. The book is a real walk through the fundamentals of robot kinematics, dynamics and joint level control, then camera models, image processing, feature extraction and epipolar geometry, and bring it all together in a visual servo system. Additional material is provided at http://www.petercorke.com/RVC

Download or read book Robots 1:1 written by Rolf Fehlbaum and published by . This book was released on 2018-08-28 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ROBOTS 1:1 explores the space-themed toys in the R. F. Robot Collection held by the Vitra Design Museum. Largely produced in Japan between 1937 and 1973, these figures of robots (and the occasional astronaut) have been carefully researched and compiled over the years by Rolf Fehlbaum, Chairman Emeritus of Vitra and founder of the Vitra Design Museum, who describes them as »small kinetic sculptures of great originality. Ever since the term's first appearance in Czech writer Karel Čapek's science fiction play »R. U. R.« in 1921, robots have both served and taken over the work of humans, creating human dependency and at times a shift in the power dynamics of a society. ROBOTS 1:1 is unique in that it shows the toys and their original packaging (when available) in a scale of 1:1, with the largest robot determining the size of the book. In this way, it conveys something of the uncanny nature of the robots and their ambivalence, while the vivid illustrations on the boxes give an idea of the futuristic fantasies developed over the period. ROBOTS 1:1 is limited to an edition of 1,000 copies, numbered and signed by Rolf Fehlbaum. A USB stick with 34 short films demonstrating a selection of robots in action is integrated into the spine of the book, alongside a poster featuring 80 robots in chronological order of their release.
