Book excerpt: In my book titled "From Assumption to the Reality; Iran-United States Relation from 1811 to 2007, I wrote: after the change of the regime in Iran, from Qajar to Pahlavi, for around ten years the England was the only foreign power that had influence in domestic as well foreign policies of Iran, till Ali Akbar Davar, then minister for finance, tried to enhance bilateral relations of Iran and the United States in the economic field. Davar succeeded to give an oil concession to Sinclair in 1936, but soon after became the victim of his venture and committed suicide... When Hitler became stronger in Europe, Reza Shah established better relations with the Germans hoping they could act as a counter-weight making equilibrium between England-Soviet Union rivalries. He invited handful German engineers that never exceeded of 300 persons, mainly for improvement of Iran's industry, the action which became essential pretext for occupation of Iran from the North and the South on August 25, 1941. Reza Shah had to leave the country and his son succeeded his father on September 16, 1941.During next 37 years, Iran passed a very hard time, during which the United States became the first foreign power in Iran in the most of the time. The United States was only real victorious power of the WWII; therefore this country successfully managed to become sole inheritor of Imperialist England who lost the grounds in all domains in the Middle East in general and Iran in particular to the United States... .The United States recommended Shah to enhance its revenue from the oil which lead to the nationalization of oil industry in Iran in 1952, but when they found that Dr. Mossadegh is not ready to loosen the law of nationalization they became his arch enemy... got what the wanted through a coup d'etat.By organizing the coup, the United States wanted to reach following goals, among other things:To install a weak Shah in the country;To get considerable share of the oil of Iran;To contain the influence of the Soviet Union;To create a rivalry among Iran and Saudi Arabia;To create weaponry competition in region,But at the mean time the immediate consequence of the coup was evaporating the popularity of the United States among Iranians... .This unpopularity at the end became a pretext for attacking the United States Embassy in Tehran after revolution of February 11, 1979. Moreover to me even the current enmity has root in the 1953 coup. Another immediate long consequence of 1953 coup was the loosening the position of the Shah in Iran. In fact, Shah never got heartily support of its people... .It would be great mistake if we blame the United States for all mishaps occurring in Iran to Shah and his reign. The character of Shah had an important role in his fate too. He was relatively a weak person in compare to his father Reza Shah who tried to cherish his son in his own way but could not do it. When Shah acceded to the throne, he was very young... . And later on, up to 1953, there were well experienced statesmen such as Foroughi, Qavam, Hakimi, who runs the country in a more or less safe passage but Shah had enmity with most of them. After the coup, he did not tolerate Ali Amini, or other experienced statesmen. He appointed young, inexperienced persons such as Alam, Eqbal, ...Shah especially after the aborted attack to his life in the Marmar Palace, on April 10, 1965 ... gradually isolated himself totally from the nation... .He thought that only way of ruling is to have an arrogant behavior, even with his closest servant... After all, there is no doubt that people of Iran has been the main loser of the Pahlavi rule in Iran for 55 years .... In 1979 after the departure of Shah from Iran, United States had to leave Iran too, and now it is near 34 years that there is no diplomatic relation between two countries and many thinks there would be a war which will weigh by the United States against Iran with this pretext that Iran is trying to build Atomic bombs.
