Book Synopsis Walking for Breezes by : James Nelson Caulkins
Download or read book Walking for Breezes written by James Nelson Caulkins and published by Author House. This book was released on 2013-10 with total page 377 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about a boy taking the first steps towards being a young man with an independent perspective. It takes place over a two week period on a walkabout with his great uncle. At the same time his parents get to enjoy a break from their parenting and their effort of introducing the boy to the idea of holding an independent perspective. The story takes place several hundred years in the future after humans have once again chosen to spend their future by violently destroying what they have. It is a time when governmental influence is minimal and can be distant if desired. It is a time when Constitutional freedoms can be openly lived on an individual level. The constraining hierarchies of organized religions and an aggressive government with police and military support have been found to be wanting and negative to individual development. The walkabout takes place in the Rocky Mountains of the Western United States and from early to mid-June. Descriptions of the plant and animal life found along the way are from the author's experiences but are not meant to be from one locale. The various thoughts and perspectives of the characters in the book are shared by the author. The future conflicts are not intended to be prophetic in any way as the author thinks humanity's future is fluid and ours to choose. "...correctness, accuracy, truth, whatever you want to call it, is based on the content of what is said, not on who's talking." "Your clear mind will enable you to focus on detail and encompass the breadth of the Earth around you, ultimately causing you to have thoughts and emotions strong enough to add energy to your soul." "Different people do the same things in different ways. Freedom of religion is the concept that embraces different people seeking truth in different ways. If freedom is restricted truth is restricted and fanaticism grows."

Book excerpt: J.C. Stringer is once again hurled into action, off his sailboat, and racing against time. Not that he wants to be, or is expected to be. It’s what he does. There had always been small talk between the drivers, those waiting to start work, and those waiting to go home. It came with the job. It was part of the experience, part of pickups, and part of the deliveries, the thoughts and the possibilities. The ‘what if’s,’ what would you do, how would you handle it, if one day you were out on your route and a package fell off a shelf, busted open, and was full of money, diamonds, drugs, or something that could instantly changed your life. Better yet, what if a package had been placed on your truck on purpose, without being scanned, and with no way of it ever being traced. What would you do? How would you handle it? Not that it mattered, not that the thought actually did anything more than pass time in the realm of everyday speculations. It was nothing more than small talk, between employees with nothing better to do. The thought was simply myth and legend, put together and analyzed, piece-by- piece by old worn out knee and hip replaced drivers, those who continued counting days until retirement. Nothing ever came from it, because it wasn’t going to happen. It couldn’t happen. Not until the day Stuckey Gruber decided to actually make it happen… Now he’s a wanted man, and J.C. Stringer is the only man capable of actually finding him. Enjoy this high stakes adventure as Jimmy Chase Stringer leaves the peace and quite of his sailboat, the Brenda Kay II, and, by following his instincts, winds up south of Miami, heading towards the southern tip of the Keys, before sailing to the Bimini Islands, on the heals of a man who is now simply known as Red, a man looking for a second chance, and a better way of life. Only problem, Stringer isn’t the only one looking for Stuckey Gruber. The men sending the package want it back. The men waiting on the package want it back. The men planning the heist expect it back. And, the delivery package company, EDS, and their security team, they want the whole mess to go away, along with the employee they once knew as Stuckey “The Breeze” Gruber.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Come explore the geology of Florida's Gulf Coast beaches, from a bird's-eye view down to a crab's-eye view. You'll journey from Panhandle sugar-sand beaches to southwestern shell beaches, taking a fresh look at the ever-changing landscape. With Tonya Clayton as your guide, you'll learn how to recognize the stories and read the clues of these dynamic shores, reshaped daily by winds, waves, and sometimes bulldozers or dump trucks. This dynamic tour begins with a broad description of Florida's Gulf Coast, roaming from popular Perdido Key in the northwest to remote Cape Sable in the south. You'll first fly over large-scale coastal features such as the barrier islands, learning to spot signs of the many processes that shape the shores. In subsequent chapters you'll visit dunes and beaches to check out sand ripples, tracings, and other markings that show the handiwork of beach breezes, ocean waves, animal life, and even raindrops and air bubbles. You'll also encounter signs of human shaping, including massive boulder structures and sand megatransfers. With a conversational style and more than a hundred illustrations, How to Read a Florida Gulf Coast Beach makes coastal science accessible, carrying vacationers and Florida natives alike on a lively, informative tour of local beach features.
