A gang of violent surfers has claimed Rincon Point Beach as their own, and they've been assaulting anyone who dares to try surfing there. But this time they've gone too far, putting the son of a local mob boss in the hospital. Soon after, a series of unprecedented shark attacks starts taking out members of the surf gang. Cahill uncovers an old and unsolved murder in the course of his inquiries, but will he solve the case before the sharks get the bad guys? Or the police? Or the mob?

Book Synopsis Rincon Where Spirit Matters by : Jane Benson
Download or read book Rincon Where Spirit Matters written by Jane Benson and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2012-06 with total page 141 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What are you doing? Well, I just brought a truckload of Goodwill furniture over to Rincon and I need someone to unload the truck. Why? What? Why all the furniture? We are making an alcohol rehab site, and will make a dormitory with the used furniture. The Rincon property was up on a hill. It had been home to a 1920s starlet, who created an oasis amidst the orange groves and lemon orchards in the valley. The property was unique in that it was walled, secluded from the outside world; a world that over the many decades had deteriorated into crime, anger, and mania. A rehab joint here? Under the California sun? No being cooped up in a locked building. Speaking of coop, did you want me to take this chair out to the chicken coop? Yup, and sit on it when you get it out there. There are 2 signs on the wall out there I want you to read. It basically means we might be in for a surprise!

Book Synopsis Liberating Learning by : Santiago Rincón-Gallardo
Download or read book Liberating Learning written by Santiago Rincón-Gallardo and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-03-05 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about three complementary ideas: 1) learning is a practice of freedom; 2) liberating learning in public education requires widespread cultural change in classrooms, schools, and entire education systems; and 3) social movements have been the most powerful vehicles for widespread cultural change, and in their logic of operation lie the keys to liberate learning. Drawing on existing knowledge and new research on educational change, the author offers nine principles of action to liberate learning in schools and across entire educational systems. Topics discussed include learning, pedagogy, leadership, education policy, widespread cultural change, collective action, and whole system improvement. Written for educators and leaders interested in transforming teaching and learning in classrooms and schools, as well as for public intellectuals and people interested in widespread pedagogical change, the book articulates a new way to think about and pursue educational change.

Book Synopsis Rincon Point by : Vincent Burns and Stephen Bates
Download or read book Rincon Point written by Vincent Burns and Stephen Bates and published by Arcadia Publishing. This book was released on 2022-10-24 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rincon Point is renowned as the Queen of the Coast, one of the premier surfing spots in the world, but that is only a fragment of its rich history. Before the arrival of Europeans, it was a Chumash village called Shuku. In the 19th century, it was part of Rancho El Rincon, whose owners included a rich but illiterate Californio rancher, an English physician who made house calls by bicycle, and a Chilean pharmacist who dispensed drugs out of an old ship's cabin. It was the site of a scandalous love-triangle murder in the 1870s, a rickety highway on stilts in the 1910s, and a raunchy honky-tonk in the 1920s. Banditos, nudists, movie stars, long-boarders--they have all shaped Rincon Point, a place immortalized by novelists, poets, painters, photographers, and the Beach Boys.
