Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The world will always remember Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin for their first steps on the moon, yet few today hold in respect the sites that made these and other astronauts' journeys possible. Across the American landscape and on the lunar surface, many facilities and landing sites linked to the Apollo program remain unprotected. Some have already crumbled to ruins--silent and abandoned. The Final Mission explores these key locations, reframes the footprints and items left on the moon as cultural resources, and calls for the urgent preservation of this space heritage. Beginning with the initiation of the space race, the authors trace the history of research, training, and manufacturing centers that contributed to lunar exploration. From the early rocket test stands of Robert H. Goddard, to astronaut instruction at Meteor Crater, to human and primate experiments at Holloman Air Force Base, innumerable places proved critical to developing the equipment for exploring space, surviving the journey, and returning to Earth safely. Despite their significance to the history of human spaceflight, many landmarks face the threat of damage or destruction. Most alarming is that the rapid advancement of technology renders stations obsolete long before they are deemed worthy of preservation. Moreover, the lack of precedence for protecting off-planet artifacts poses a unique challenge for space archaeology. While NASA's 2011 recommendations for spacefarers suggest avoiding close proximity to this cultural landscape, the authors advocate stronger routes of preservation and present models for safeguarding space history--both on Earth's surface and beyond.

Book excerpt: The Book of Revelation (chapter 12) narrates a phenomenon that most readers will find incredible. Given a view of a period of time in Heaven, Apostle John saw and reported: "Then war broke out in Heaven; Michael and his angels went forth to battle with the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought." He actually saw Archangel Michael and His army of Angels in all out war against a dragon; and the Dragon and his Angels fought back. However, the Dragon and his Angels did not prevail: they were defeated and violently cast out of and down from Heaven: "And the huge dragon was cast down and out that ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, he who is the seducer (deceiver) of all Humanity the World over; he was forced out and down to the Earth, and his angels were flung out along with him." Further, the Warriors who vanquished this huge dragon called the Devil and Satan: "And they have overcome (conquered) him by means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death [holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing]." This was a War in which the armaments were the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony This was a War of Words! This War would continue on Earth. After the Fall of Man, the War on Earth between the Two Seeds would be a War of the Spirit Beings; fought through Human Beings, and other living things, to the detriment of those who make the wrong choices during the battles to Save the World of Man! How did it begin and how will it end? This is one question every Believer is, literally, dying to know. So did Prophet Daniel (12v8): "And I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said: O my lord, what shall be the issue and final end of these things? The issue and final end of these things become evident as we trawl through Holy Scriptures and the histories of Man, as has been attempted in the 800 pages of this book.

This book was released on 2016-02-22 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book, Steve Gronert Ellerhoff explores short stories by Ray Bradbury and Kurt Vonnegut, written between 1943 and 1968, with a post-Jungian approach. Drawing upon archetypal theories of myth from Joseph Campbell, James Hillman and their forbearer C. G. Jung, Ellerhoff demonstrates how short fiction follows archetypal patterns that can illuminate our understanding of the authors, their times, and their culture. In practice, a post-Jungian ‘mythodology’ is shown to yield great insights for the literary criticism of short fiction. Chapters in this volume carefully contextualise and historicize each story, including Bradbury and Vonnegut’s earliest and most imaginatively fantastic works. The archetypal constellations shaping Vonnegut’s early works are shown to be war and fragmentation, while those in Bradbury’s are family and the wholeness of the sun. Analysis is complemented by the explored significance of illustrations that featured alongside the stories in their first publications. By uncovering the ways these popular writers redressed old myths in new tropes—and coined new narrative elements for hopes and fears born of their era—the book reveals a fresh method which can be applied to all imaginative short stories, increasing understanding and critical engagement. Post-Jungian Psychology and the Short Stories of Ray Bradbury and Kurt Vonnegut is an important text for a number of fields, from Jungian and Post-Jungian studies to short story theoriesand American studies to Bradbury and Vonnegut studies. Scholars and students of literature will come away with a renewed appreciation for an archetypal approach to criticism, while the book will also be of great interest to practising depth psychologists seeking to incorporate short stories into therapy.

Highlights from his illustrious career include voicing Frodo in the 1978 animated version of The Lord of the Rings, playing Bellboy in Doctor Who, narrating twenty-five episodes of Jackanory and showing off his singing talents alongside Elizabeth Taylor in 1977's A Little Night Music. In addition to his work on-screen, Christopher is also a highly-respected artist and musician, having played at venues such as the Troubadour and Ronnie Scott's. An avid songwriter, his work has been featured in both television and film. In this candid autobiography, Christopher invites us into his unique world, sharing a smorgasbord of witty (and revelatory) memories of his adventures growing up in a family of actors and writers. Having known and worked with a veritable Who's Who of stars, his memoir boasts anecdotes featuring an impressive cast list, including Sir John Gielgud, Jenny Agutter, Hugh Grant, Mel Smith, Sir Elton John and many more.
