Download or read book Revival Fires written by Geoff Waugh and published by . This book was released on 2019-06-24 with total page 232 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An expanded, updated version of FLASHPOINTS OF REVIVAL, with footnotes and revised final chapter on revivals in the 21st century. Using eyewitness accounts, Geoff Waugh takes you inside the hearts and minds of people in revivals spanning the last three centuries. Beginning with the Moravians in 1727, this book gives first person reports of revivals in Europe, America, Canada, Africa, India, Korea, Chile and more, including recent revivals in the 21st century..Foreword by Dr C Peter Wagner Geoff Waugh and I agree that our generation is likely to be an eye witness to the greatest outpouring of the Holy Spirit that history has ever known. Many others join us in this expectation, some of them sensing that it will come in the next few years. Here in America, it seems to me that I have heard more reports of revival-like activity in the past three years than in the previous thirty. This has caused revival to be a more frequent topic of Christian conversation than I have ever seen. There is an extraordinary hunger for learning more about how the hand of God works in revival. That is a major reason why Flashpoints of Revival is such a timely book. Christian libraries are well stocked with detailed accounts of certain revivals as well as scholarly analytical histories of revival. But I know of no other book like this one that provides rapid-fire, easy-to-read, factual literary snapshots of virtually every well-known revival since Pentecost. As I read this book, I was thrilled to see how God has been so mightily at work in so many different times and places. I felt like I had grasped the overall picture of revival for the first time, and I was moved to pray that God, indeed, would allow me not to be just an observer, but rather a literal participant in the worldwide outpouring that will soon come. As you read the book, I am sure you will be saying the same thing.
Book Synopsis The Smith Wigglesworth Prophecy and the Greatest Revival of All Time by : Smith Wigglesworth

This book was released on 2012-12-04 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “You will have the privilege to see and to participate in the most glorious and mightiest sweeping revival that has ever been known in Christian history!” —Smith Wigglesworth This revelation was part of a prophecy given in 1936 by legendary evangelist and healing minister Smith Wigglesworth to a young man named David du Plessis. The revival Wigglesworth foresaw was a continuation of the Pentecostal movement into the charismatic renewal that continues to this day. Later, in 1961, God gave Rev. Tommy Hicks a vision of the continuation of that revival: a worldwide movement in which the “Awakening Giant”—the body of Christ—receives spiritual power and authority on such a scale as has not been seen since the book of Acts. This book retells these two amazing prophecies in their entirety and also discusses their implications for the world today. The revival of God’s church continues, but it won’t be complete until every Spirit-filled believer understands his or her unique role in its fulfillment. Study these prophecies and ask God to reveal how He would use you to bring the greatest revival in history to completion.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Power of God at WorkCharles Finney’s ministry led to some of the most amazing revivals that have ever occurred in the United States or England. In Holy Spirit Revivals, Finney recalls those events, revealing the secrets that led to the mass conversions of lost souls in his meetings throughout upstate New York, as well as in Boston, Philadelphia, and London. Finney was unafraid of offending delicate ears by addressing the problem of sin head-on, and his dedication to prayer, his understanding of Scripture, and his radical reliance on the power of the Holy Spirit are a great template for believers today. This treasured account of one of the greatest Christian preachers in history is an outstanding resource for anyone interested in seeing a revival of faith in the church.

Download or read book Young Fire written by Joel Hitchcock and published by . This book was released on 2016-02-16 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Revivalist Joel Hitchcock believes that youth revivalists can learn from the revivals and spiritual awakenings of the past in order to facilitate a World-shaking Revival and Great Spiritual Awakening in our generation. Joel discusses several revivals of the past - such as the Great Awakenings, Welch Revival, the Azusa Street Outpouring, and others, as well as his own experiences, to challenge young people as the next generation of revivalists to usher in the greatest move of God this world has ever known. God is raising up a younger generation of revivalists for the end time Great Awakening. Great revivals and spiritual awakenings have occurred throughout history in many nations. Great revivalists blazed the trails of great awakenings in the past, and have passed the torch to a younger generation of revivalists. This younger generation of revivalists are the Young Fires that God is raising up to accomplish His purpose in the end time generation. The Young Fires look back and learn for the flaming revivalists of old, then look at our current generation, and cry, "Wilt thou not revive us again?" Joel Hitchcock Writes in the first chapter: "I wrote this book in 1999 under the title, The End Time Revival and Great Awakening. At the time I had a tremendous passion for God to move in our generation in a mighty way. I prayed that God would use me and raise up others to usher in a mighty end time revival and spiritual awakening. I have changed the title of this book to Young Fire - End Time Revivalists for the Great Awakening, because not only was I a youth when I wrote it, but it is my deep desire that young people that read it will catch the spirit of revivalism, and be used by God in their generation. As this book goes into yet another printing, I reflect on what the Lord has done in our generation. I see how God has raised up many powerful men and women of God, who were unknown at the time that I had written this book. Some of them were barely teenagers. God has indeed raised up some great revivalists. I now look forward to what God may do in the next 20 years and beyond. I wonder what kind of nation-shaking revival God may grant us. Regardless of the powerful revivals that God had blessed this nation with, they all seem to fall short from the awakenings in the USA, Wales, Hebrides and others from early 1700s through the early 1900s. Yet we cannot underestimate what God has done recently. Countless lives have been changed and the impact of this move of God will only be appreciated to its full in time to come. Yet our world seems in a horrible spiritual state. Perhaps these most recent revivals were but tremors before the big one hits. I believe this may be the case. An author is always hesitant to put into print a work he or she did many years back, without completely re-editing it, or maybe rewriting it altogether. The reason for this is because authors views on certain things change, they may have come upon greater clarity on certain theological topics, their audience is no longer the same as the one present when they initially wrote their book, and their writing skills have also changed or improved. However, I am putting this book back into print, as it was in 1999, with some editorial changes here and there. The reader may notice that the style of the author reflects that of an on-fire young man, eagerly expecting a mighty move of God. After serving God for many years, and after over 25 years of full time ministry, I am as on fire now as I have ever been. The spirit of revival is more caught than it is taught. It is my prayer that this work would stir a passion for revival and spiritual awakening in you and in our young generation... Dr. Joel Hitchcock, Georgetown Delaware, 2016

Book Synopsis The Inextinguishable Blaze by : A. Skevington Wood
Download or read book The Inextinguishable Blaze written by A. Skevington Wood and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2006-06-01 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The extremes of eighteenth-century debauchery and vice depicted by the artist Hogarth were not confined to the poor; the English Prime Minister, Walpole, led the way by his openly immoral life, and his principle of let sleeping dogs lie allowed every kind of public and private corruption to flourish unchecked.Yet side by side with these poisonous weeds there grew the good seed that was to produce the Evangelical Revival--Daniel Rowland and Howell Harris in Wales, Jonathan Edwards in New England, the golden-tongued Whitefield in England and Scotland, and the two Wesleys, who took the world for their parish. While these and others helped to save Britain from the horrors of such a Reign of Terror as engulfed her nearest neighbor, they lit a blaze that the darkness could not put out. With an enthusiasm informed and controlled by diligent scholarship and up-to-date research, Skevington Wood here tells the gripping story of those momentous days, and shows how the candle of men like Master Ridley and Latimer, that had become the refining fires of Puritan times, had now turned into an inextinguishable blaze that would, in the century to follow, carry the Light of the World to the ends of the earth.
